My sister died last Wed

I was handling it pretty well until I realized yesterday that I no longer has a sister or any othe sibling. Just my mom who is going great at 92. I've been questioning my marriage for years, just my husband and I no kids. Today I threw out some of the flowers we'd recieved just because they reminded my of the funeral to come. Tonight I'll throw out the rest of the flowers, they still look good but we're leaving Sat to go out of state to bury my sisters ashes.

My sympathies. We buried my sister's ashes a month ago. I started feeling it a few days ago, when for some reason it hit me that she was gone.
It's gonna hit for a while, in bits and pieces. It's okay to sit on the floor and rock back and forth.
Don't throw out the flowers. Dehydrate them (or give them to someone who will, who won't be as full of pain) and turn them into potpourri. Same with the graveside flowers. At Christmas, give the potpourri to your family, as a beautifully-scented reminder of your sister.

Oh, I had to go out of state too (Massachusetts and I live in Iowa), so I couldn't do the potpourri thing. It's hard living out of state and only going back for things like this. Remember your family is always a part of you. Your blood, your eyes, your mannerisms all come from how you were raised, and that's family. She'll never leave you.

We went to Iowa on Sat and Sunday by car. Monday was sort of recoup day and make sure thind were ready. Tues was the funeral, lots of realatives and lots iof formers teacher freinds. Wed we had meetin with her 'money many' and her lawyer who was actually out with strep throat, but her brother. I'd taked with a lawyer here in Tx who said we didn't have to due anything in TX. The guys in Iowa wanted to consult a lawyer here, just to be sure. Between meetings Mom and I dumped DH and did some shopping, got lost a few times and and ate lunch. I felt like my sister was with us the whole time. We drove home the next 2 days. Both Mom and I have arthritis in out hips and I had fribromyalgia. I'm really sore today and bet Mom is too. I didn't cry the whole time but did once we made it home and some today.
