Attention from opposite sex

I don't even know how to post this without sounding vain... I've thought about posting this for awhile now but didn't know how to post it and it come across the way I'm intending. So please know that I don't think I'm "all that"

I spent years and years without so much as a second glance from anyone, male or even female. I spent so many years feeling invisible to the world.

Drop some weight and for the past year men have started noticing. I've even had some men try to "pick me up", despite the wedding ring on my finger and recently despite the fact that dh was sitting next to me. It's completely weird to me and I'm not always sure how to handle it. Mind you I am deliriously in love with dh and it's nice to have the attention from others, but obviously I'm not interested.

Anyone else getting "noticed" for the first time in years too?

Hey what a confidence boost ..... We expect to get compliments from our significant others, but strangers - that's wonderful! It must be your beautiful smile....... Lap it up ....... enjoy.

I've had men at the filling station talk while filling up their tanks. Also men at the golf course are always hugging me along with an occasional kiss. I too find it uncomfortable .... and have found excuses not to get close. Now the talking I don't mind - but the other signs of attention is uncomfortable. I too am in love with my DH, but it is different....

Oh thank God someone responded to my thread!! Thanks Cheryl!! I think men have gotten a little bolder since I last dated anyone - 10 years ago!

Or maybe it's true what they said about married women being a magnet for some people.

I have never had extreme weight differences, so I can't relate to your experience. I just wanted to say that of ALL the people on LCF, you are probably the LAST person I would think was being vain!! I don't "know" you, but I read your posts quite often and you come across as such a sweet, giving person...definitely not the least bit full of yourself

Enjoy the attention. You are gorgeous!

I couldn't pass up your post ....

That reminds me of a girlfriend that was gorgeous - beautiful hair - slim - everything I would love to be. Anyway she was 7 months pregnant and she and her other two sisters (beautiful as well - 5'9" and both weighed about 120#) and myself went to a local hang-out (she didn't drink). OMG you should have seen the guys trying to hit on her. Not only did she have her wedding ring on - but she was pregnant. They didn't care...

The reason why I said she "was" gorgeous is because she has since died from MS. She was pretty young when this happened - like in her late 30's.

So just enjoy the attention. When you get to be my age - it does slow down

Hey! I know what you're talking about.. I've lost 16 pounds and suddenly I feel like I'm getting more attention. The other night I was out with a girlfriend and a man was raising his glass to me... I looked behind me to see if there was another woman behind me and there wasn't..

I'm married too but it is nice to get a "compliment" once in a while!!

I think also, that we give off a new vibe when we've lost weight.. We feel more confident and I think that is what the opposite sex picks up on! Anyway, I just wanted to say you look fantastic!! Love the avi!
