I'm obsessed
WTH is wrong with me?
The most interesting part of my day is to be here. I'm obsessed with diets. I'm obsessed with having a smaller body. I can't seem to get away from it. I tried intuitive eating....didn't work. Marathon training (with TNT) worked for awhile... it even killed that pesky alcohol craving...but when the marathon was completed, that was it. I love to run. I love to be fit. I love to feel every inch of life and breath I can get...I'm a hospice nurse and I know what it means to have your life snuffed out in a weeks' or month's time...and what it means to live life. To really live life. My goal is to achieve my weight loss goals, dispose of my obsessions, and live a passionate, healthy, elated life. ![]() |

Moon - I don't think there's anything wrong with you. I come here every day too, but I don't consider it an obsession. People go to Weight Watchers meetings for support, right? They go to AA meetings to help them overcome their addictions don't they? What's so different about this board?
If being fit is your goal then it's a healthy obsession. |

Since I have started Atkins, I come here at least 3-4 times a day. I fell like it is very helpful in keeping me focused and motivated. It's not an obsession, I think of it as an educational experience. I learn something new about the Atkins Way of Life everytime I visit this site. I did Atkins in the past, lost weight, and didn't stick to it...of course I gained the weight back and did not join this site at the time. I am the type of person that doesn't like to do things alone, include dieting. This site makes me feel like I have hundreds of other people backing me up and I am not alone.

Hmm, all I could think of was seven years ago when I became 'obsessed' with the Smoking Cessation forum over at about.com, lol. As a result of being obsessed with it, I quit...and for GOOD!
So...good things can happen when a forum helps keep you on track! It looks like, by your stats, that you are doing very well on the plan...and as long as you aren't 'shirking' another area that NEEDS to be 'obsessed about' (lol) then I see no harm in it. Pam |

I disagree. I was/am like you moonmirror. Diets have taken over my life it seems. I am always interested in hearing about new techniques and trying them. It is a good thing however my obsession is controlling my life where I am focusing more on dieting than more important information. By keeping myself out of the house and away from the computer has helped a lot.
