Angry at DH for this comment

He comes home from work this morning and asks me "Are you going to the gym today" ... I said yeah, "Are you" and he said "Why would I need to go" ... that was just rude. He NEVER says anything about my weight but now I wonder what he thinks.

He himself has dropped 25 lbs in a month WITHOUT trying. The MD ran some tests but they're all fine. So I guess now he knows it all ... LOL!!! Anyway I'm just frustrated at that comment ... off to the gym now. As he sleeps on the couch!!!

It's okay I understand how your feeling sometimes men speak with their butts if you know what i'm saying (sorry men dont take it personally ). He probably didn't mean it to hurt your feelings. But use that anger towards him and kick butt at the gym

Men!

I'm sure he didn't mean anything bad by it...they just don't really know what (we think) they're implying sometimes.

I don't blame you - it sucks that men can lose weight so easily. I get mad at my DH because he can eat more than me

But next time he asks you why he should go to the gym you should tell him that skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy. Losing weight is not the only reason to exercise. There are a million other good reasons!

Perhaps of you ladies would come out with a manual of "When you say this, we think it means that," then perhaps we could stop you from over-analyzing every little thing we say.

(But probably not.)

Now before you go and beat yourself up take a good look at the hubby. Don't take his comments like that and let it bring you down. Maybe you could have said he might want to go to tone up that shake in his bootie or tell him he might want to get some AB worrk in cause you don't see a 6 pack yet. Fire right back and don't make yourself feel bad. Go to the gym for you.....not him!

Men say the STUPIDEST things sometimes. I hate it. I've been married almost ten years now so I've learned to let it roll off my back. I'm oversensitive also, so it is the comments about pretty actresses and coworkers that slay me. He doesn't mention my weight, but the women he remarks on are have beautiful bodies, of course.

He doesn't go on and on about them, but even the slightest remark; like "this gal in my office just got divorced, lots tons of weight and now she's wearing short skirts," just feels like a hard pinch to the arm. I don't want to look jealous, so I just play along.

I can really identify. My DH makes remarks, too. And I'm overly sensitive (he knows that and reminds me of it). Like one time, he said, "You must have had a good lunch...look at your stomach." I got real mad, but of course got over it and forgave him. He's really wonderful in so many ways (except that one)!
