Melanoma update

I ask for your prayers a while back for my brother he was suppose to start a treatment today but.......

Well everyone he didn,t make his doctors appointment today.He was hurting to bad to make the trip.He called the doc.and told him where he was hurting.Last week he had to have a body scan done to be approved for treatment.Well the doc told him he was not approved because he had more tumors.The melanoma has spread to his liver and lungs.His doctor and another doc here that are my brothers friends advised him not go and let them treat him like an experiment because theres no cure and he would be in lots more pain .So hes not going to do any kind of treatment.He is just gonna spend his time left with family . his doc.said he would take care of whatever he needed to keep him comfortable as possible.But please keep him in your prayers .Thanks again for letting me ramble .I just feel so helpless wish there was something I could do .Just keep him in your prayers maybe God will hear all of us .

My sympathy to you, your immediate family, and his wife and children (should have them). I lost my brother to cancer 5 years ago.

My heart goes out to you. I know what you are going through. I was there with my loving husband when he made the decision in March to not take any more treatment for his illness and chose to die with dignity at home. He died April 6. I know the special anguish you are going through. I will be praying for you, your brother and all who love him.

Please be sure and ask around in his community regarding what is the best hospice program and then have him ask for a referral if the docs haven't already hooked him up. They vary but most are excellent support for your brother and his whole family. Usually helps a lot with symptom management (pain control etc)

My husband went in 10/25 for stage 2 cancer but it was still encapsulated so it was removed. My life was turned upside down then but with radiation, he's OK. I now have learned how precious everyday is.
