Sad coz BF noticed cellulites in my legs

Asked my bf if I can wear short shorts/couture shorts and tried it on. Then he said, "you wont get mad? I think you should hide folds? Those are cellulites right?."

I don't have the legs for shorts, never really have. I try to stick to capris.

I know it hurt what he said, but I watched a What Not to Wear yesterday, where the husband was always saying you look fine, when he was really thinking, UGHHH you look terrible. At least your's has the tact to tell you, even when it hurts. I'm sorry

I would much rather have the truth from my hubby then go out in something that really dont look okay on me. Its better to hear it from him then someone else IMO

Exactly. He was thinking of you when he told you the truth. I have cellulite, and I don't have to ask anyone if i should wear shorts or not. I know i shouldn't.

It depends on how he said it. With love or not nice. My hubby is very honest with me about my weight b/c I have asked him to be. I have to be realistic about my body and my weight. I have asked my hubby to help me in that process which means when I ask a question like "does this look ok?" or "do I look bad in this?" I expect him to be honest with me. If your hubby was being nice, then I think that it is a positive place in the relationship and he is a great support person to have. You will have to find clothes that work with your body and not get upset during the stages of weight loss b/c that can be detrimental to your motivation. I know that when I go through the awkward body stages of wt. loss, I sometimes sabotage my efforts. I know better this time. Keep on truckin' and you will be able to wear what you want. For now, dress your body the way it is, accentuating the positives and have a heart to heart w/ your bf about your needs in communication during the process.

Oh please! If all women will cellulite had to hide it most of us would be walking around in burkas for heaven's sake! If you feel comfortable in the shorts then you should wear them. And I think you should point to something "special" on his body and tell him it's looking kinda "foldy" and that he should maybe think about covering it up!

Yeah. It's a wake up call. I always thought I had great legs despite me being plus size.

Hi -

He probably did not want to hurt your feelings, but felt he was helping you - men can be soooooo clueless! I have even heard Suzanne Somers say that her hubby will say, as they're leaving the house to go out, you're not going to like the way what you're wearing looks from behind!

Since I've been working out, I keep checking the back of my legs with a mirror - they're getting closer to shorts material, but definitely have a ways to go yet before I'll be comfortable wearing them. If you like the way your legs are looking and feel comfy in shorts then I would wear them!!!!!!

Best Regards - Olivia

Yes, shorts are tricky..I personally don't like looking at other people's cellulite..and don't want other people seeing mine..LOL..You look thinner when you cover it up and accent on the good part of your legs...What Not to Wear is a great show..If you have
great calves...then show them off!!!
