I have accepted Jesus in my heart!!

I went to church this past Sunday and announced in front of everyone that I am a sinner and that I believe that Jesus died for our sins on the cross. I was born a muslim and it was a big deal for me to finally do this. I finally feel like the weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and I am at peace with myself. I have been pretty sick these past few weeks and have been dealing with anxiety as a result. Lying in the doctor's offices and in the ER room has made me realize many things. If it wasn't for this I don't think I would have opened my heart to Jesus. Even though this journey has been painful, it is well worth it to spend eternity with God! I just had to let you guys knowand share this with everyone on this board!

I haven't told them yet but I will. My fiancee and I recently became engaged and he is Catholic so they still haven't digested even that yet. I will pray for them as well but my family is pretty hard core Islams and they are still in Turkey.

Jesus is everything to me and the best thing I ever did was allow him to take over my life. Study His Word and grow in His love, dear Sister.

In applying his teaching to my life, I have tested Him. He has always been faithful. I wish I could say the same for me.

"True spirituality is for those who have
already been there" Where? Hell? No one, no matter how bad life has been has been in Hell. I have been through quite a few "hellish" situations in my life (I am sure others have been through much worse), but there is always hope. Hell is the absence of God (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). Since God's presence is still here, no one can experience true Hell on earth, because there is always hope.

I am happy for my new Sister in Christ. I join the angels in their rejoicing. I pray that one day we rejoice for your entrance to our family too.

Congratulations!!! I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior in 1970. I have never regretted it. If I can make a suggestion, maybe you could get in a Bible Study at church, it will help you grow in your faith. I am so happy for you, and will pray for you as you approach your family. Judy

The best news I've heard all day! You've just taken the first step on an awesome journey -- the ride of your life! I've been with Jesus for almost 26 years and it just keeps getting better. Hang on tight, sister!

I have a question: how can we, as mere mortals and with no power, ACCEPT Jesus? How can the lowly accept the Greater and Higher? If we went to the White House to visit President Bush, would we accept him, or wait for him to accept us? Not that I am comparing the Pres to Jesus, but God humbles Himself to help us and notice us. I think He accepts us when we repent and stop sinning. This is the best time to receive the holy Ghost. to all of you.

Hmmm, the eternal question, and it's a good one! Do we accept Jesus or does He accept us? I think both. We are accepting and pleasing to Him NOT because of what we do but because of what He did on the cross. And how do we accept Him? We let Him in: "Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together." (Rev. 3:20) Just my very humble option!

I think what we are talking about is that we allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. I accepted Jesus in my heart in 1970 and I have never regretted it. You are right in the fact that Jesus accepts and loves us first. But we are sinful beings and can harden our hearts against him. When we finally open our hearts to him we are allowing him to work in us, so that we can go out and bring others to him. He doesn't want anyone to not know him, that is why we are to go out and bring others to Christ and rejoice when someone opens their hearts and allows him in. Sorry about that but this is one subject i can get carried away with. Judy

I just wanted to mention that receiving the holy Ghost is the new birth. I only know this because, after years of trying to "accept" Jesus, He accepted me and gave me the holy Ghost, just as He gave to others who wrote about it in the chapter of Acts, and I was transformed in an instant to a born-again person. I simply wanted to share part of my testimony. Thank you for reading this.
