Believers Baptism
I've never posted in this forum before, but I thought it would be a safe place for this question.
I'm being baptized this summer at the lake. This is a HUGE deal at my church and I am really looking forward to it. I have all the preparations in motion. The date is set, my meeting is scheduled with the pastor. I am working on my written statement of Faith, select friends are invited, I'm thinking about what would be best to wear. I need to say a few words. For those who are uncomfortable speaking in public, many chose to recite a bible verse for the moment just before immersion. I am searching for the perfect verse for me. I have a few in mind, but still searching. I am wondering if anyone has a particular favorite that might be just what I am looking for. Please share. I would love to hear your thoughts or experiences with your own baptism. Thanks to all of you who respond.

I am so happy for you. Here are a few of my favorites.
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Isaiah 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer, thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. These are my favorites but I suggest you study His word until you find the one that truly touches your heart. God Bless Trisha |

Jer 29:11-12 is one that has been laid on my heart lately.
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (NIV) |

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.--Matthew 6:21
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. -- Phil 4:13 And my personal fave; Psalm 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, [a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

I don't have a verse for you (find your own! smile) but I just wanted you to know that I am so happy for you & I love that you are so excited about this. I was only 11 years old but I'll never forget coming up out of that water & how I felt all night afterward. Simply miraculous! There are not words to describe it. But don't worry if it all doesn't work out like you planned ... you've done the one thing that matters: accepted Christ. Congrats!
