can I just moan for a bit?
I try so hard not to complain in life...I don't want to upset my children or further stress my husband, but I need to b**ch a little....will you bear with me?
life sorta sucks right now -I'm facing back surgery for the second time. I'm trying alternative methods first and none of them seem to be working. I'm in business with my mom, and she cannot handle it for even a day without me. I don't know what will happen if I have to have surgery and take time off to recoup. -I've developed plantars afacia (or something like that) in my feet and it's pretty painful. I've got an ugly fungus rash that I can't seem to get rid of (sorry, that might be TMI)....in other words, "I'm falling apart". -my 10 y/o son is having surgery in a few weeks. they're removing his appendix because of a valve blockage (not appendicitis). I'm very worried. -my husband lost his part-time job and we have lost 600-1000 worth of needed income a month. we had to borrow to pay our house note this month. he's not having much success finding another job, and I'm out of the second job market until my back is fixed. I'm am wayyyyyyyyyy stressed over our financial situation. -my 17 year old daughter is going to college in the fall, and because of our higher income last year, we have been turned down for state aid. I don't know how we are going to pay for it. I am trying real hard to lose some weight. I finally dropped another few pounds and am down 5 lbs. right now, but it gets harder and harder to stay motivated every day....just too much other stuff to deal with. plus, with our lowered income, I can't afford much variety in food selection for myself. I can't exercise, because I can barely stand upright at this point. I'm not giving up.......I'll keep eating LC and keep plugging away, because a slow loss is better than no loss y'know, I feel a little better having put all my moaning down in writing. thanks for listening. |

Sometimes a girl just gotta do what she gotta do and that includes moaning. Its hard work trying to get one in the frame of mind they need to be in to lose weight and its so easy to get distracted with other problems and concerns. Hope things get better. You are worth it.

I'm sorry things are bad right now...Do you have any solutions at all? Is it possible for your daughter to wait one semester and re-apply for aid then? (Plus she could get a job for those few months...) Someday you're going to look back and say "Remember that crappy couple of months we had?" --I'm gonna pray big for you; it will all work out the way He has planned for your lives... ![]() |

Call the guidance office at your daughter's HS and ask for info on filing an AMENDED Financial aid application.
ANy other local posibilities for more PT work for hubby? Landscape season is kicking in here. Lots of ads for that and for other seasonal type workers. I will be thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome in all the medical procedures. |

hang in there, from my experience, the schools will increase their financial aid for your daughter if there are extenuating circumstances. This happened to me when I was in college, my parents made too much money to qualify for financial aid. They my father got sick and our main income source stopped. I went into my financial aid office and they told me to bring a note from the doctor saying he couldn't work and they will up my fin. aid. I'm so sorry for all the stressors in your life right now...

i agree with what has been said, the financial aid office should be able to help u out now that circumstances have changed.. if u meet resistance with one of the financial aid clerks go higher , go to a supervisor , i fully believe that financial aid will be granted to your daughter. As for your back? i am not sure if u have heard of this or are open to it(its ok if u are not), but sometimes reiki(natural way of healing/energy touch) can be of help(for your back).. Even if the actual back issue cannot be resolved this way.. sometimes just allowing someone to help u relax and de-stress can work wonders! or perhaps massage? i realize finances are an issue, sometimes reiki, and massage can be offered for free at least for a while if u come across a compassionate person willing to offer their time. Please allow yourself the time and energy to rest, relax, and release the stress u are carrying. When we carry so much stress it manifests in the body.
I realise its easier said than done..(believe me , i need to take my own advice at times ) after all..my weight gain was caused by unexpressed emotions that i allowed to be stuffed down with food for comfort instead of dealing with them. *sighs* my heart really does go out to you. I can feel your stress, and completely understand how hard it is to cope with all this. We are all here for you. Each of us offering advice, a hug, compassion, support, or an ear to just listen. whatever u need, let us know and im sure we will do whatever we can to help. Kimberley |

I have been there with the back thing.
I had a herniated disc throughout my pregnancy with DD. One month after her birth, I had surgery to remove the herniation. The recovery was hell ... but it worked! Then, 2 years later the herniation came back in the exact same spot! I was thinking I would have to do the surgery thing again, but I had a shiatsu massage. Holy moly! It worked! The actual massage hurt like heck cause she massaged exactly where the herniation was and sent waves of pain shooting down my leg. But, a week later, the pain disappeared! This time it settled itself and hasn't come back. No surgery necessary. I hope you get as lucky. I know how debilitating and depressing back pain can be.

Sorry to hear things are falling apart for you, when it rains it pours huh? As far as the back surgery, what kind? I tried everything under the sun and still ended up having surgery. I had 2 disks removed about a year ago, was in danger of losing my job because of my disability before the surgery. I couldn't walk standing up straight and couldn't sit for more than about 15 minutes at a time. I'm fine now, totally recovered. So, I know how much that sucks.
