What is the Meanest thing someone has said to you(weight)...this is net therapy

i saw this on another board and feel it is therapeutic to discuss and share.

among the many things i have been called beside the regular fat$o, fat a$$ etc.

i had the honor of being called BOOM BOOM all throughout high school. like a dummy i thought i would beat them at there own game and call myself that.

the worst time was having someone call me fat - while driving down the street with my husband

I had quit smoking and gained weight. One of the the smoking witches at work looked me up and down (in front of everyone) and said "I would rather be dead than quit smoking and gain weight". So, after all these years, she is still coughing and hacking and ugly but I can change MY appearance. (borrowed from Orson Wells)

Like they say " I might be fat, but you're ugly and I can diet". So when you are smoke free for a while and sexy and thin, When the chance comes up I would say, God how sad, you are still smoking, God are those wrinkles on your lips from smoking, LOL,,,

kids can be cruel - as a child, other kids called me thunder thighs.

as an adult i was out shopping and ran into my uncle. he looked at me and after a bit he said "wow, i didn't recognize you - you've gained weight"

I went to a dr once that asked me what I weighed in high school,when I told him (120lbs) he looked at me and said"MY GOD,what happened?!!"I gave him the dead fish eye look and coldly said "I don't know I just woke up one morning in this body,that's why I came to see you."Then I got up got my purse and walked out.I never went back to that dr.lol

haha.. I look back, and laugh now.. but I am always self-consious about myself.. a long time ago i went to a garage sale, and this man asked me when I was due.. I was mortified and I know my face went beet red, the only answer I could come up with, not to embarass myself anymore, I told him i was due in 3 months.. OMG..then I left very quickly... I must have had a big pouch back then!!! but was that a wake up call back then.. heck no!!

oh that sucks! i had that happen to me as well, but i cant remember when i said i was due.

man thats hard to take! My grandpa did that at a restaurant to the waitress.

The meanest thing for me was when a guy at my high school said i looked pregnant.

And also i went to borrow some parasean cheese from my next door neighbor. Their kid answered the door and yelled "go away *****!" and slammed it.

But the pregnant thing hurt worse! Before then, i was confident with my body as it was. Now im skinny and i still hate my body.

One of my best guy friends (who I used to date in High School when I was 120 lbs) RECENTLY saw a pic of me BACK THEN. He stumbled and almost dropped his jaw. He said, "My God!!! You looked like a model back then, DAMN!"

As if to say WHAT HAPPENED????

Not, "Hey since the last time I saw you lost alot and look great." Just AWE of how hot I looked back then. SO GLAD we never "got that far"....what a *#$@%^#^....!!!

A former co-worker who said absolutley nothing, just stood with her mouth hanging open and stared me up and down without a word. She's one of those people who think being over weight is caused by lack of self control. We used to call her Mother and we all knew that the F word came afterward but never said it.

I have a lady like that at work too...you can tell overweight people really bother her and looks are really important, although she eats crap all day. She is very thin and one of those lucky people who can eat what they want. Anyways, one day she was describing her own daughter and she said that I was built kind of like her and she described her daughter as having "huge ham hocks" as she motioned to her thighs.....the thing is she thought she was giving me a COMPLIMENT

as she said it was mostly muscle.

This is while he's watching some really young girl (20's) walk across a parking lot.

I was made fun of constantly as a kid. Yes I was mooed at and whispered about. I was a big joke to these people. They loved to call me "water buffalo" and chant it over and over. The funny thing was the guy who did it was fat himself. Another favorite name was "Big Red". I went to my highschool reunion because my husband knew some of the people I graduated with. They were all still jerks. It's just sad to me that people treat others so horribly. I lost weight after I graduated but have fought with an eating disorder since I was 16. It has affected me to this day. I am a healthy weight and I am 39 years old, but it still hurts. In high school, I remember one boy talking to this really cute, skinny, girl about me. He was laughing and saying I bet she has a fat p****. That was totally humiliating. Even as an adult, I have a hard time being around people. I have two sons and I pray everyday for stregnth. God takes care of me. It's just hard not to feel worthless sometimes. I sound like a basketcase!!!! I really do okay and function, but I just wish that my self-esteem could get better. I don't know. Maybe writing this will help. I worry about my kids and I don't want them to be made fun of. My oldest son is popular but my little one who is 5 wears really thick glasses. He isn't very athletic so it's hard. I guess one good thing is he isn't interested in food. Neither one of my kids are into food. Thank you Lord!

I feel the pain! I remember all the teasing and name-calling and how terrible it made me feel. Even my parents never had anything good or up-lifting to say to me. I can't change any of that old stuff.
I refuse to give those cruel people any power over me now! They are a waste of time! Today, I feel great, do what I enjoy, have quality time with my family and they love me. Going through life I have met kind and generous people who helped me feel good too. I try to build other people up and it helps me feel better, by helping them.
I want them to remember me as someone who cared, was interested in them and made them feel good about themselves.

I had a doctor tell me that I was going to need my own zip code if I didn't stop gaining! Granted I was overweight, but I was 177lbs, I didn't think I was horribly obese. The worst part is he was an endocrinologist I was seeing because I had my thryroid removed...you'd think a thyroid guy would be somewhat sympathetic!

Things said to me that hurt every time I think of them

7th Grade after doing slim fast and getting down to 135 someone saw an outline picture of me on the ground (this was for a class project) and insisted it was not be because I was not that skinny.
9th Grade - are u pregnant?
Female relatives - you use to look so cute before u gained that weight
Mom - she introduced me to a friend at work and I could tell she was embarrassed by my size. I later called my dad crying because it was so humiliating.
Brother - its hard to date when you are over weight. You should do something about that. He was right. but at the time it hurt to hear that. Since losing the weight, dating has not been an issue.
Dad - child ur eating a lot. Your gaining weight
Boyfriend - ur face doesnt look right any more.
