Update on my Stepfather...

Hi Everyone,
My stepdad is fine - he and my mother are home from the hospital. They couldn't find anything wrong with him....what? "They couldn't find anything wrong with him?" was my question to my mother because the man is 350 pounds! As soon as I mentioned that his weight sounds like it's 90% of the reason why he got shortness of breath and chest pains that were an 8 - on a scale of 1-10 - she immediately changed the subject and said they didn't get any sleep and were going to bed.

It's so sad, but as I said before "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." If he doesn't want to lose weight, no else can do it for him.

Thanks for all your prayers, I really appreciate it.

How sad. I have family like this too. They are not that heavy(I don't think. I haven'rt weighed them!) but they don't believe their weight is a problem. My very heavy cousin told me it is healthier for him to remain at his weight than to "diet" Go figure.

I am so glad you step dad is doing better.

But alas to bad the DR's wouldn't tell him the "truth" so he could get a good scare and do something about the weight.

I know a good scare caused my mom to stop smoking on the spot!
