My stepfather is struggling to breathe...prayers, please
I just found out from my mom that my stepfather - who's 68 and over 300 pounds is being taken away in an ambulance because he's having trouble breathing.
I'm also really sad because I've known him since I was 14, 22 years now and he's been just as heavy for the entire time. Please keep him in your prayers.....thank you. ![]() |

I have said a prayer for both him and you! I hope he is ok. Maybe this will help him to realize he has to change?

They've both lost weight here and there, but nothing has really stuck. They each did Atkins in 1995 and he lost 95 pounds in six months and she lost 35 in the same time period. She gave up because she felt her loss was too slow and I had to explain to her that men are different than women and do lose quicker.

I'm so sorry, and of course I'll pray for him, and your mother to. Please let us know how things go and if there's anything we can do for you!

Stephanie--I just said a prayer for your step-father. I hope you hear good news soon and that this unfortunate incident will force him to take better care of his health.

Big Yapper!!!!

I hate that it takes an event like this to get people to look at their health habits. I know it did for me. DH spent a week in the hospital last fall and it took that to kick me into gear to do something about my weight. I wanted to be there with him when he got over his health crisis.
Hugs and prayers to you Stephanie! Peace be with you. |

Thank you all so much for your prayers. My mom did call me last night about 10:30 (they live in Las Vegas) and said that more than likely they'll admit him and he'll be under observation for 12-24 hours. It's just unfortunate that he continues to go through life being obese like that. I read about several people who lost a bunch of weight in a January issue of People magazine. One man went from 588 pounds to 288 and his company paid for him to get a personal trainer and a nutritionist - he looks great now.
I'll let you all know the status update of my stepdad. |
