why do I feel so down?
Okay, I guess I am just throwing a little pitty party for myself and I won't give up or quit, I just don't understand why losing for me is always so hard!
Of course, gaining though is super easy!!!!I know that my TOM is getting close (wish it would hurrry up), but I don't recall this ever causing me to gain in the past - plus, with all the water that I have been drinking (at least 6 liters a day) you would think that I would not have any reason to retain any water weight! I know that this is not a quick fix and that it takes time, but I am so frustrated right now that I am to a point that I want to tweak what I know has worked for me in the past. Even though I won't cheat and go off the plan, my head is telling me to head to the candy machine as I am not making any progress right now. I don't even know what I expect anyone to reply back to me with as I really don't expect pitty from anyone and I know that this plan has worked for me in the past... I just am really beside myself right now and I appreciate you listening to me!!! Maybe it's just the PMS talking!!

You are gonna be fine. You are talking to a fellow slooooooow loser here. It took 5 months to see a significant loss. Might just mean you are settin' yourself up for a big 'ole Whoosh with a capital W. Or, maybe you will just lose slow and steady (which sucks patience-wise, but is probably the safest way to go). Please stick it out. You know it works, you know you can do it, and if you need anything, just PM me (now that I got my "PM on" )Deb

Thanks Deb! I appreciate that! Yes, I am a slow loser too. Back when I started in 2002, I documented every gain/loss. It took me from January 4th until March 4th to lose a measily 10 lbs and 6 of those came off the first week on induction, so in essence only 4lbs in almost 2 months - and the inches that everyone talks about losing without losing pounds, well let's just say that never happened to me! I started in my size 14's and I still fit into them in March, 2 months later!
Actually it was not until I started the Body For Life program that I really saw results (lost 8 lbs in the first 5 weeks and like 12 total inches). I am thinking about starting that program back up, but I am also planning on working out with a personal trainer in a few weeks, so not sure if I should just wait until then - who knows. I think I would be okay if I knew that I was just stalling this week and maintaining, but this gaining stuff is for the birds!!!! It's just very non-motivating to me, plus now I keep thinking should I try stillmans, should I try this or that -- when in reality I don't really want to, but I don't want to remain miserable either! Why oh Why did I let myself gain back this weight again!! ![]() |

I've been fighting a battle over the last few pounds. I am always a slow loser but now I can't go down to a new weight. Let's cheer each other up and stay the course. We'll get there!

can I join this pity party thread LOL.. I did so good but with stalls and slow losses.. Then blew it for two days and then got control of myself and tyring to get back on track... I want to get below 150 so bad.. and am bouncing 2 lbs around 155 or 154 or 153.. Then back to 154. I had lost all weight down to 139 in 2002.. and never hit my goal wieght and then found myself back up to 164 right after Christmas.. Well have lost about 10 lbs this month but trying to hit my minnie goal of 148 by Valentines day... Lets all cry to gether and count me in...

You guys are great!
Lotwm ~ Your story sounds almost just like mine!! I started at 164 in 2002, lost down to 130 and was able to maintain bouncing around between 135-145, well this year I found myself back up to 165 and knew it was time to get myself back on track before I weighed even more. I think you are doing great! 10 pounds this month is awesome!!! I only wish I could hope for 10lbs in a month!! Smallercizing - great job resisting that snickers bar, it would not have been that good anyways and you would have felt ultra guilty about eating it! gotogirl- You can do it -- I bet one day they will leave in a quick woosh!! I am actually going to do the yogurt fast tomorrow -- I am hoping that I can tough it out through the entire day, I am draining my yogurt right now, but don't know if I am going to drain it all the way down like I have read people do -- it's already kind of thick, plus I am using SF cheesecake pudding mix for flavoring! Wish me luck, if anything maybe this will help with my candida issues!! Good Luck to all of you!!! Let's keep posting and keep each other motivated! |

You guys are great! I throw myself a pity party everytime I get on the scale! I go get a small piece of chicken and curse at it. I noticed that I stall when I don't eat enough! Some people talk about controlling their calories while they are doing lc. If you think about conventional knowledge, this would make sense, but lc is not conventional. You have to eat! Look at lowcarbshiela.com. Her website says a lot about the amount you eat.
I've found it helpful. Her pictures are inspirational as well. It gives me faith that I am doing the right thing and that it is possible. This leads me to believe that it will happen for me as long as I stick to the program! When I feel really down, I start reading the Atkins book again. I always think that I'm missing something! OH-don't forget to excercise! We can all do it. There are too many success stories out there to deny ourselves of that celebration! I want to be a success story on the forum!
