OUT OF GAS!
We did not get any damage here in Central Florida from Hurricane Katrina. But our stations are running out of gas!
We have been advised to do the following: Fill up car and spare gas cans get propane for cooking on grills use locking gas caps on your vehicles stock two weeks of supplies like diapers, medicines, dog food, toliet paper, water, canned foods, etc It's getting scarey. We are raising 4 children on one income already and sustained 50 thousand in damages to our house with 2004 hurricanes, and lost a vehicle to a tree. We have stripped out our bills with no cable, no cell phones, no entertainment (other than internet, which will have to go soon), no eating out, we don't smoke, etc..... Our van is staying parked in the yard, I haven't even been driving to the grocery store, and he's driving the car to work, not using the A/C, slowed down to 55 mph......what else can we do? The next bill to go is the phone. ![]() |

Well I am sorry to hear of all of the struggles, but it gives insite to know that it is not just us.
My whole family (mom, dad, 2 sisters, bro-in-law-, nephew, plus dh and our 2 children, and I ) have moved in together to minimize on living expenses. That is 3 families under one roof. It is going great so far, but some of us are without work and we cant seem to find it. Gas is thru the roof for us, we were juest getting used to 2.00 a gallon and bammm we are at 3.00 per gallon. We have had gas theft all over. Police having to patrol pumps over night because some people were actually ciphoning from the actually under ground tanks that hold all of the fuel. It is crazy. But when I think I have it bad, I just look around. Someone always has it worse. At least I have a roof over my head and all of my family is safe and sound. I feel so mournful over the loss of life and livleyhood in NO and the other areas effected by KAT. I just pray God shine blessings upon these people, and somehow bring them hope.
