I just started feeling crappola after dinner lst night. I made chicken skewers on the grill... might have been the marinade but Fred is feeling fine.

He was quite the sweetheart, though. He went and got me some pepto and some diet 7up to settle my tummy and stayed until I wasn't completely miserable. I didn't sleep very well and I am still rumbly so i stayed home.

Good Morning Chicas!!

I had a great time in Oregon. I went hog wild. I ate what I wanted when I wanted, and shopped til I dropped! Now it's back to work and routine. I am so overwhelmed.

I am still trying to catch up on everything's that been going on in this thread.

Moke, sorry the belly is giving you a hard time. Is it still rumbly?

Jenny! Yo, just two days now isn't it?

SP, hey, nice to have you back! Eating what you want when you want it and shopping till your dropping is my idea of a holiday too!

Well, SP, you can join me in getting back on track. I finally decided to do CAD (Carb Addicts Diet). It won't be so hard on my kidneys as Atkins but I'll still get the benefit of low carb. Several years ago, I had lost 25 lbs while on it until I stalled and that's when I switched to Atkins. Now I need someone to crack the whip so that I will start an exercise routine.

Moke, sorry that you are feeling crappy. Hopefully it wasn't anything to do with the food you made and it's just a bug going around.

Looks like the heat wave is on it's way back. It was nice not to have to use the A/C the past few days. This humidity kills me.

Does anyone know if it's better to put a hair masque on before or after you color your hair?

Mootz can you tell me about the Carb Addicts Diet a bit please?

Not sure about the hair masque I would think after, but not sure.

Humidity is back in Ontario as well.

Mootzee, I'd go for after. The color weakens the hair, the masque should help counter-act this. If you put it on before, I think the color will just 'eat' it away. Know what I mean?

It sounds great that you're getting back to something that has worked for you. That's what I'm trying to do with exercise - I've only EVER lost weight when I've been running. What a bummer, eh?

You will have a very cute bum if you are running Junk. My ass and legs are the only good part of me from my walking. I tried to run but I got shin splints.

The basics of CAD is that you eat carb-free for two meals and then have a balanced 1/3 protein, 1/3 veggies, 1/3 carb meal. The carb meal doesn't mean that you can go hogwild on carbs. You have to balance it out with your protein and veggies. For example, you could have steak and a salad and a baked potato. I always remember the picture of the plate divided into thirds as an example.

And it doesn't have to be dinner. If you want to do it at breakfast or lunch you can. I feel that it helped because I could just tell myself when I was struggling to stay on plan during the day that I could indulge when dinner rolled around. That helped quite a bit.

Oh, and you don't go into ketosis during CAD (or you shouldn't )

Can I join you all.... I always see the thread but besides the obvious title, I wasn't sure what it was all about...

Me.... and my titles (at least the ones I can think of right now)..
daughter, sister, "great" girlfriend (he seems to agree... this week), worker, student, aunt... added a new nephew last month....

I look forward to getting to know the group over time..
I am back to m/e or kiss (depending on which way the wind blows), for the last 2 months I have just been eating basically low carb, maybe keeping them in the 45-60 carb count, and have been able to maintain, but now I need lose some weight... I graduate and turn 30 with in days of each other in December.... and I want to be smaller....by then....

Well... off to a meeting...

Cool, thanks Kim. Maybe I will give one a go after I get back to under 150 on meat and eggs, since a splurgeful weekend put me up at 152. Back to losing the same couple of pounds again.

She posted something about it on the last thread. I think they were talking about when it would air.

Nancy, I think you and Tiffany were posting at the same time.

Good morning ...er....AFTERNOON, everyone!

Where DID this day go??

Lately I keep having these dreams that I'm jogging. And I'm ENJOYING it...it feels really free and energizing...which is weird, because I've never really been one to run. I'm lazy...it's all I can do to force myself to go walking every other day.

So I decided to try jogging today, on my treadmill (not in public, where everyone can see. lol). I did it for about 5 minutes. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I couldn't go any longer than five minutes...my lungs got kind of sore...well, not really my lungs, but that area where the neck connects to the chest, and it caves in a little bit when you inhale deeply...what is that area called?

That got sore, every time I inhaled. So I slowed down to a walk after that.

Maybe I'll try five minutes every other day, at some point during my walk, and see if I don't get used to it. If not, I guess I'm just not meant to jog.

SP- welcome back!! Sounds like you had a good time!

Moke- are you feeling any better yet??

Tiffany- Welcome!

It's the fruit. I had fruit after dinner last night. Soon after I started feeling like poo.

Was feeling better, just had some more... UGH.

Geez, Moke, I hope it wasn't salmonella or something. Remember those people at ChiChi's who came down with food poisoning from the green onions. It's terrible!

Just to let you all know...

I just made LindaSue's Pineapple Meatballs recipe, and O.M.G.....it is SOOOO good. I'm in awe of how good it is.

I think it would also be good with cut-up chicken instead of meatballs...kind of like sweet and sour chicken. Or any meat, really.

I just happened to have some meatballs in the freezer though, so I decided to try it.

I highly recommend it!

By the way...

The 'L' word is looming. I know he wants to say it but he hasn't yet. He's so cute. I'm VERY patient.

I think we hit a turning point.. he has finally realized I'm not going anywhere and it's ok to be happy and admit it and use the words 'we' and 'future' and the world won't explode and the sky won't fall. We actually discussed marriage the other night... not deciding anything but discussing it and its likelihood and knowing that we each have some things we want to take care of before taking that step.

It's so nice to be here, at this moment. I thought it would never come.

Oh, Miss Mocah, that's wonderful!!! When men start talking about the future, you know then that they are serious about you. You two take your time and get things worked out. That way things will get even better in the future.

Can I hear a WOOT?!!!
