PHENOMENAL WOMEN! ~*JUNE 27-July 2,2005*~

New thread!

Please continue last night's discussion!

I'm really in love and willing to take the pain that sometimes goes with it" post. lol Ever since we dated I've played down the whole love aspect of things because I know that love hurts. I just thought if I never admitted that I loved him he couldn't hurt me. Oh, don't get me wrong, I say things like "I love my boyfriend" all the time here on the Playground when I'm saying things like, "My boyfriend just brought me a carton of low carb chocolate milk. I love him" etc., but to just come right out and say, "Ok, I love you. I can't deny it. Now kick me in the teeth." lol That's like an emotional breakthrough for me. I've always been very guarded with my emotions (unless it's with children) and after two and a half years of dating my best friend still says, "But do you LOVE him, love him? You're so blase about it. I can't tell." I just didn't want to admit how much I cared about him so I could play off my feelings if he hurt me. I don't think he IS going to break up with me or anything, we seem to get happier and happier every day, but I just wanted to let the world (Or at least a few people in the world) know that I'm finally seriously in it enough to allow myself to be vulnerable. Did that make it clearer or muddier? LOL

Nancy I'm praising you today. I've popped in and out today while playing in the yard and have read some of your posts and you have insight and wisdom that many women aspire to have in this lovely place called life. Don't you ever change. You're the best!!!

OSG I'm just guessing, but I think you lubs you some Butch!!! You're last post could have been typed by me no less than 2 years ago before going out that first time with Craigy. Isn't it such a lovely place to feel true love for another human being and truly have no doubts that he loves you back. Enjoy it!!! and I hope the feeling never ends.
Oh, I'm glad you like the green bean recipe...that's the only way I eat them now...mmmmmmmmmm

A friend of mine in the Juice thread works in Quality Control. She said that normally QC people are avoided because they go out of their way to tell people what they do worng in their jobs. She is going to "kill them with kindness" with her suggestions of improving.

I think if more people applied this to every area of their life, that it would be much simplier, yes?

Not THIS Moke!

I couldn't get my web cam to work last night, so I couldn't take a pic of the Man. He didn't like his hair, anyway. He's kinda funny, just metro enough to not be macho. I tease him about his man bag... he carries around this bag that has a brush, some lotion, deodorant and his hair pic. I don't carry around that much stuff!

Ask him if he will carry your chap stick, then you won't need a bag.

*snort* Saturday as we were leaving, I realized that I had forgotten the directions up in my apartment. So I handed him my PINK PURSE to hold and jogged up the stairs to get them.

Not to me, but I'm a perve anyway.

Sitting at the dinner table last week the boychild turns to me and says "bstl" today Mom. "BSTL" what the heck is that? My little boy is not a little boy anymore.

Splurge vs. Save Beauty Products

Bargain cosmetics and drugstore makeup bestow elegant results. By Lisa Kovalovich

Attention all beauty junkies: You've got favorite high-end beauty products, right? Products you'd shell out your last few dollars for? Well, you don't have to spend your last dime on them anymore -- we found budget versions that are just as fabulous as their big-bucks cousins! Here, our favorite inexpensive picks:

Big Bucks: Nars Lip Gloss in Orgasm ($20)
Budget: Almay Whipped Gloss in Nude Reflection ($6.99). Both glosses are sheer, nude shades with a hint of shimmer. Bonus: Almay's has a minty smell that wakes you up!

Big Bucks: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($16.50)
Budget: Revlon Eyelash Curler ($5.25). Both work the same way to curl and lift lashes, making eyes look wider and brighter.

Big Bucks: L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream ($23)
Budget: de-luxe Shea Butter Hand Cream ($8.99). With rich shea butter as the main ingredient, these creams soothe ultra-dry, chapped hands and cuticles. What's more, de-luxe is about one-third the price!

Big Bucks: Terax Original Crema ($20)
Budget: Pantene Deep Moisturizing Treatment ($7.49). Their thick, moisturizing textures and hair-friendly ingredients give sleekness and silkiness, and cut down on frizz.

Big Bucks: Philosophy Microdelivery Peel ($60)
Budget: Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Facial Peel (about $24). Gorgeous skin requires exfoliation, and both of these products do it effectively and gently.

Big Bucks: Bliss Labs Ingrown Hair Eliminating Pads ($35)
Budget: Tend Skin ($20). These astringent formulas help prevent ingrown hairs on particularly prone areas such as underarms and bikini line. The difference: With Tend Skin, you add your own cotton pad.

Big Bucks: Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream ($18)
Budget: Alberto VO5 Sheer Hairdressing (5.99). These leave-in conditioners work to nix frizz and give instant shine. Tip: Use on dry hair to combat midday fuzzies!

Big Bucks: Dr. Hauschka Neem Nail Oil Pen ($15.50)
Budget: Profile Cuticle Softening Pen (about $7). Soften cuticles and keep hangnails out of sight with a handy cuticle oil dispensing pen.

Big Bucks: Lancome Amplicils mascara ($21.50)
Budget: Maybelline Full 'N Soft mascara (about $8). Both formulas plump up lash volume, making them look thicker and more lush.

I LOVE the de~luxe line!
