PHENOMENAL WOMEN! ~*JUNE 20-26*~
Great day in the morning! New thread!
I just must say, as I do at the start of every week, my life has changed so dramatically since we first started the challenge... it was a bit of a struggle, but I do believe I have finally left the frump behind and I am really reaping the success of my weekly pamper sessions. THis weekend I treated myself to a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax and I feel all purty and girly! I'm still using a body scrub and shea butter, which has made my skin soooo soft ! Love it, can't imagine NOT doing any of these things anymore. I hope you all are keeping up with taking care of yourselves and indulging weekly if not daily in some self spoiling and pampering-- you're worth it and when YOU'RE taken care of, you're in a better position to care for those around you. I really believe that, knowing my worth and working toward the best ME. In other news, it was a great weekend here in Atlanta! Friday dinner was fantabulous, I'm still salivating over those porkchops! YUM! Saturday was a 'me' day and Sunday I spent with my friend, just tooling about town and then I came home and made dinner, watched some tube and hit the sheets. Back at work for another week, I hope it goes by fast! I have more plans on Wednesday! I think I may pack something up and hit the park. Hope to se the rest of you as you pop in later! |

Moke, your weekend sounds good and you are plenty motivated for a Monday morning. Good for you!
Lin, there's a bear in your tree! P.S. Guy looks at my car around 11. |

Monday, Funday!!
Sounds like a great weekend, Moke. I'm thrilled that things are going so well for you! My last day of teaching this term - nothing left to do but mark essays and fill in about a million forms. I hope everyone's refreshed and relaxed after the weekend. I'm exhausted from 'entertaining' my mom and her friend. I put them on a train to Stonehenge/Salisbury this morning so that I could spend the day in tutorials with my students. We're leaving for Paris tomorrow, I'm so excited. I've been wanting to share this with my mom for a long time. ![]() Lin, did you notice the bear in your tree? Just wondering. ![]() |

Morning beautiful ladies!
It looks like my pampering session for the day will involve taking out the three bags of trash that have accumulated in my apartment this week. How does a single woman generate so much TRASH?? I call that a "pampering session" because at least it forces me to leave my apartment. I loooove being a hermit which makes me best friend afraid I'm turning into an agoraphobe. I'm not agoraphobic though, I just love avoiding chit-chat! In all seriousness, I just decided to either 1. bleach my teeth or 2. try to soften up my feet somehow today. You guys have inspired me! I'm sure Butch will be happy if he tries to rub my feet next weekend and they don't feel like extra duty sandpaper! =) I hope you all have a super Monday! |

I also meant to mention that much of the self work we did during the challenge, and continue to do, have been so helpful! You ladies are quite the encouraging bunch... lots of positive energy-- I really wish more people grabbed ahold of the concept of women supporting, encouraging, and befriending and lifting one another up.
My bouts with insecurity continue to be fought, though I have more victories than defeats as of late. The more confident in myself that I become, the better I relate to those around me both personally and professionally. I am painfully shy, much to the surprise of many, but I find I am able to overcome that, in short lengths of time, that get stretched longer and longer. My new adventure is certainly helping in that department... there are a lot of things I worried about in past relationships that aren't a concern now. It's a weight off the shoulders. |

It is officially summer ( as of 2:10 A.M.)! Let the wild rumpus begin!
I had a busy day organizing my little shop in the morning and caring for Dad from 1-8. We had a pretty good day. He was "with it" about 60% of the time. Today is MINE. I will meet my buddy at 6:20 for our daily Curves visit and I'll be home by 7:30. I plan to: 1. paint a door 2. finish organizing the shop I wish you all could visit here. It is a happy place surrounded by trees, and the roses are just pumping their little heart buds out. I feel so blessed. Dom, you sound so good. I think you will make all your dreams come true Stephanie, I am not familiar with the plant and suspect it may be a hot climate one. It looks a bit like a fuschia or trumpet plant. Very pretty. What are you cooking up today? Junk, why do the Brits call today "midsummer"? No one has EVER explained that to my satisfaction. I don't think I got that E-mail where you invited ME along to Paris Nancy, I am so sorry about the extra expense of this trip. Luckily for you, you are keeping a good attitude. I admire that!!! OSG, how did the projects go? Mootz, what happened? You are safe here. . . if you are not afraid of bears. Must be on my merry way. Today's avatar is a bud of "Teasing Georgia". Isn't it lovely? Have a great day, Phenoms! Lin

If you guys had any idea of what Lin's surroundings are like. Her discriptions do not do her piece of heaven justice. Dom, Lin is right. I think all your dreams will come true! You are making it happen woman, and I for one, am grateful that I get to be with you during this time. The way you describe (and sometimes its the way you don't) is wonderful to see. Steph, not sure about that flower, but it is a pretty one. Once the blooming stops you'll need to bring me a slip. Junk, Paris? C'est la vie! You Lucky Girl! Kim, what happened? Or is it just the ride of watching others? Christy? Where are you????????????? Lin, can you help Steph with her flower question? |

Nah, nothing happened to me. Just watching the circus come into town whenever someone posts something personal.
![]() Steph, I saw those down south when we were on vacation down there. I'm assuming it's a warm weather plant, too. Grows pretty big, if I recall. Not sure of the name. I can research it if you'd like? ETA: Why am I on here so early? I had to take Aaron to summer school to finish getting his credits. Hopefully in August he'll finally get his high school diploma. I'm happy that he's sticking with it.

I found this..Pink Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia impetiginosa) comes into flower in early Spring, and then into spectacular full bloom. Pink Snowball and Hong Kong Orchard trees finish flowering, and the Pink Trumpet trees herald the beginning of Southern California spring. In full bloom these trees are a canopy of color-vibrant, lilac pink domes in the sky-that will be reflected in the metal cladding of the building from March to May. OR...is it more like a vine?...I know the yellow ones I see are more like a little tree..but, this doesn't really look like a tree.. ![]()

Good Morning Ladies!!!
I see everyone is up and being productive!!!!
Thanks, CinnamonSpice....I believe you may be on to something with my "tree". It is in fact a tree, but last year I just let it grow without cutting it back and what you see is what I got It's a beautiful tree, I got a piece of it from a guy who was getting ready to move that year and he was nice enough to let me have some of whatever I wanted. Lin, have fun on your "me" day today. You deserve it!! Nothing special going on cooking wise today, just making some meatballs for meatball sandwiches for the kids tonight and I'm making Greek chicken salad (recipe I got from clipping coupons Sunday) Nancy, I hope everything worked out with your car. Check back in with us when you get home. Drive Safely. Mootzee, I know what you mean about posting your personal biz on the PG...some people take constructive criticism to new highs Junk have an awesome trip!!! Moke, how are you doing this lovely Day????

Heya Stephanie....mmmmmmmm meatball sammiches. With some provolone... wowee...
I am doing ok today, going through some issues, scaling back some things, trying to get back into developing myself and being a phenomenal woman on the inside. Looking at some books on Amazon and thinking I might pick up a few to read in the coming weeks. Last edited by Skinnymocah : 06-21-2005 at 09:16 AM. |

Thought I'd pass this info along. Saw something in the PG that reminded me of it.
When you get a yeast infection, use tea tree oil on a tampon overnight. By the next morning, everything should be fine. No messy creams. No pills. Just relief. Tea tree oil has anti-fungal properties. Yeast is actually a fungus. You can also use it on your hoo-hoo with no problem. It tingles but not too much. |
