Thanks for all the prayers-- surgery went 3 hours instead of 1 (totally freaked out my poor mother and husband) and they took out a lot more than we'd planned, nothing seemed really bad to the doc, but won't have biopsy results for a few days.

I'll post when I get them--thanks for continuing prayers!

Hey everyone--not good news, but not end of the world either. I need to go in for more surgery, probably tomorrow, to get out some lymph nodes. Then I see an oncologist--may need some treatment but it is so small, and so early, it shouldn't be terrible.

I will have you in my thoughts and prayers. Did the biopsy show it is malignant then? I will also pray for you to have courage. This can be such a scary time.

Yes, but a tiny area was malignant. Not even measurable. I just heard I go back in tomorrow-- thanks for your prayers!!

I see an oncologist in a few weeks--they will probably offer me radiation as a preventative measure. I will probably agree--but from what I've read that's a breeze compared to what I've already been through.

No, I don't believe so, radiation is much milder than chemo. I am *so* fortunate to have found it early--my girlfriend found it when she was 53 (I am 43) and of course it was much more advanced by then. (same thing, caused by calcifications we all get as we age. but hers were growing longer before she had a mammogram)

She is doing okay now, but her treatments were tougher.

My best friend died of that last September.

I am so so so relieved you caught this so early! Did you feel a lump? My prayers are doubling up for you. I am really impressed by your strength. I would have lost it.
