PHENOMENAL WOMEN! ~June 13-19~

Morning! New thread!

I've been really enjoying our time together, ladies, it's been wonderful.

So I promised a bit of news, and I can say that I have met someone. And that he's wonderful. Any more will have to be shared via pm. lol.

Sooooooooo. I am realizing though that I need to reinforce my Phenomenal Attitude... my self confidence has to increase and I have to fight some insecurity, specifically about my weight. I've been doing good Woe -wise, I just need to really get back on plan 100%, which has been planned.

So, I'm gonna be working on some more self confidence kinds of excercises for me. How about you all... any tricks you use to make your self feel 'good enough, smart enough, and that doggone it, people like you?'

Stephanie--YES. I would do it again. In a heartbeat! I have "personal space" issues (they aren't as bad as they used to be). I didn't mind this at all. She was there for a job, not to be all up in my stuff. She did a great job. It was very relaxing.

Moke--I always feel better about myself when I am working out regularly. Don't you roll your eyes at me!!! It's true.

Yeah I promised I would get back on the physical excericise as of this evening. I have all those DVD's I am trying out from BlockBuster, the fitness ones, so I need to get on it and do some of them. I am sure I'll feel better about myself the more active I get!

Hi Dom!
I am enjoying this too, you smiley girl, you!

As an exercise plan, I would recommend Curves. Aside from regular walking, it is the ONLY fitness plan I have EVER stuck with. People can make all the fun they want of Curves, but I have had 60 workouts in 3 months and I see a huge difference -- in my arms especially. In fact I am wearing a tank top dress I would not have worn at all during the past 3 years because I was so self-conscious about my arms.

I like the completely non-threatening atmosphere of Curves--women (only) of all shapes and ages and the music is upbeat. Our Curves features more than a little bit of Christian music and as a woman brought up in the Methodist church it is JUST WEIRD to be hopping around to "How Great Thou Art" but music of any type makes the experience more fun. A friend and I cruise in there at 6:30 and half an hour later we are walking out the door with our routine done for the day. It gives me tons of energy, and I like the friendly environment.

I am a pretty outgoing person but DH is a bit shy. He smiles a lot and listens carefully and has learned to ask questions that draw people out a bit. He really LISTENS to the answers and goes from there. I'm sure you do this already.
Okay, I have rambled on and on. Must get back to work. Have a great Monday! Lin

Okay, okay, if Jen's butt gets any bigger, it's my fault and a little English bird who told me that McD's over there has pancakes.

Moke, I'm so happy that everything went well. WOOT!

Lin, I had joined Curves and quit after 2 months. It just wasn't right for me although I've heard that lots of other people have had success with it. I would much rather be lifting weights in a gym.

So which is better... Netflix? Or Blockbuster?

That's when, not if. Open confession: I love pancakes and Mootzee was kind enough to let me know where I can get them.

I think Netflix in the winter (when you have time to watch a lot of movies) and Blockbuster in the summer (when you might be outside or out of town more often). I loved Netflix, though, because the selection was unbeatable and you didn't have to deal with the video store clerks. Is it just me or are they the same all the world over?

I just love online shopping, though. I long for the day when I can order groceries online and have them delivered to my door.

Blockbuster has the same sort of online program as Netflix. It really depends on the kinds of movie syou like. If it's obscure, I think you might find it better at Netflix. Blockbuster seems to be up on the new and recent releases. As far as price, Blockbuster is less costly for the basic program.

I didn't like Netflix from the start, I canceled almost as soon as I signed up because of an error they made and I haven't gone back. Blockbuster Online has done me well!

We use netflix. We are just now having our first "screw up". The mail tore the package and there was no DVD in it so we shall see how they handle it.

Hi Guys

Moke I'm really glad you are happy! You deserve it hon! As for feeling good about myself...I get my hair done every single week without fail. Nothing makes me feel better than having well styled hair. Lol

Lizz - I like working out too and I loove BFL. Once I hit my original goal I'm going to switch to BFL because it is the only thing that gives me great muscle definition quickly and I really don't mind the food plan.

*Waving hi to everybody else*

I'm back on Induction this morning so I'm staying away from the kitchen. I need to stay focused...

Hello Phenoms!!!

It looks like everyone is happy and upbeat today!!! I had a busy morning and have finally got a chance to sneak on.

Moke, I'm glad you had such a great weekend....As far as the self-esteem issues, I'm with liz and lin.....exercise is the way to go...your energized, you stay focused on eating habits and it just makes you feel good all around. Last week I finally was able to change my weight on my siggy, and it felt great...I've lost tons of inches and built even more muscle tone. That in itself is one great confidence booster.

I've also found that pampering routines are a plus too, when it comes to boosting your self-esteem. Since we've started these challenges/threads I am consciously aware of taking care of me...whether it be feet, hair, nails or skin. You can't go wrong making yourself "purty"

I have netflix and have been pretty happy with it...My complaints are that when new movies come out, being the impatient person I am I wish I didn't have to wait. Their customer service is great...I've had movies that were lost in the mail and once damaged and all I had to do was send an email explaining the problem and within days a new one was sent out or replaced without grief or complaints As for the grocery shopping online...Albertsons out here in cali provides this service and they only charge you additional 10 dollars with your bill...........I am so tempted to give it a try...they just need a days notice.

Good luck, Lin. I hope it's a good situation - being a carer is such hard work.

My mom is supposed to get here in just about an hour. I'm so excited, I can't wait to see her and squeeze her.

Hi. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I so enjoy reading everyone's comments! As far as the Blockbuster/Netflix debate, I prefer Netflix. They just seem to get the movies to me faster than Blockbuster did. Oh well, to each her own.

Mocah--I'm glad you had a great time with your gentleman caller!

Everyone have a great day.

Hello Ladies...

How's everyone today???

it's going to be another hot one out here...yesterday it was in the 90's and we felt every bit of it

when it gets hot like this, it's really hard for me stomache food, so I guess that's a good thing.

I leave early today, my daughter Courtney, caught what I had last week so I have to get home and medicate her. It will also give me time to play in the yard.

tonight is aspirin facial night. I'm going to touch up my nails again, and moisturize from head to toe, take care ladies and have a wonderful day!!

I cannot believe I forgot we were starting a new thread and of course I don't get notifications that there are new posts unless I post in it! Duh, Nancy!

Dom, oh so happy that things are going well! You so deserve it Queen of Phenom!

I am all up for working on Phenom Issues, but will not promise to commit to exercise until this heat breaks! Trying to keep up the lawns and gardens are enough for me with the humidity.

Everyone else, Big Waves!

ps Thanks Steph!

Jen, how did I miss seeing that your "Mum" is coming to visit? That is so cool! Hope that you all have fun catching up. Are you going to show her the sights?

Moke, it's always sumptin'. Hang in there. My A/C has decided to start making a funny noise. I think that something may have fallen down in the vent. It's just loud enough to be annoying. This is about the only time that I miss my XH because he was good at fixing things.

Steph and Lin, take care of your loved ones. Hope that they get well soon. Summer isn't a good time to be sick.

Dang it! I forgot to buy aspirin for facials today. I did get a nice long brush to start dry brushing though.

Ok, so my younger sister stopped by with a binder of recipes from our parents bakery that she borrowed 18,000 months ago and asked for her rubbermaid container back that she brought me cookies in. She said she had seen the other sister who was not home (that I brought the flowers to), that yes, she knew it was me that left her flowers (least she remembers who Nancy is) and that she planned on sending me a Father's Day card. I guess we shall see.

My sister does this..........
calls me on his cell............."Steph, I know you talked about wanting more rechargeable batteries, they are on sale at so and so place" I'm excited, wondering if she got them for me, 'cuz she's there.............her immediately after my thought says "I was going to get them, but the lines were to long so I left"

she did this all throughout Xmas time too
so aggravating
