I desperately need your prayers.

Some of you may remember me. I used to post on the pg a lot. Well, my mom has 2 tumors the size of grapefruits in her abdomen. She goes in for a cat scan today (May 1) and the thng is they think it is likely cancer. My mom doesn't want chemo and if it is chemo the prognosis is very, very bad. I just lost my best friend, Lucy, to breast cancer 6 months ago and I do not feel like I can handle this at all. I am trying very hard not to fall apart but I need prayers and positive thoughts. I am not strong anymore. My dh and I also have separated twice in the past 6 6 months and another dear friend has lymphatic cancer. What is with the cancer all around me?! I know I am supposed to trust God and learn something from all this, but I feel very, very bleak right now. Please pray for my mother and my dear friend Shelley who is on chemo and in for a fight to live. Pray for me to have peace and whatever else it is I need.

Thank you for the hugs and prayers and support. It almost seemed like I felt the hugs. I really need them. My mom had a cat scan of the tumors yesterday and the results will be read today by her doctor. I have read that a biopsy can metastasize the cancer (if it is and we still don't know, please God it's not! ) and then she could really be in for a fight. I am just so worried. I feel like I am walking around with a ton of bricks on my shoulders. Has anyone heard of any alternatives to the classical biopsy? Thank you again.

LCinHouston...Wow, I haven't been on here in so long it is hard to believe anyone can remember me! Yes, precious baby Lucas Mateo was placed in a home with loving parents instead of tossed in a dump. The memory made me smile. Thank you.

We are supposed to know more tomorrow (Saturday) from some blood tests my mom had.

I just broke down sobbing in the bathroom today and couldn't stop. I cried and cried and then the rest of the day I was fine. Going about business again as usual. I hope that's normal. My emotions are so near the surface.

I wanted to mention that from the CAt scan results they determined it is ONE tumor and not two and it is the size of a pineapple in between her uterus and bladder. A few people have said that's a good sign. Also her other organs seem healthy.

Please keep praying.

I just wanted to let you all know that from her blood test results on Saturday it may be benign. Her tests looked ok. I am still praying because I know other people with cancer who were told at first it was benign, or likely benign. I just can't handle the thought of losing my mom.

I'm so glad to hear that they believe its benign! Keep your chin up, and make sure she stays vigilent in monitoring the areas!

What a roller coaster ride. I wish I could just go into a coma and wake up in a few years. My dh accidentally ran over our puppy this morning. We will have to have a funeral this afternoon after we tell our kids. My dh has been a wreck and in tears all day. My kids will be crushed. I have got to stop crying so I can drive my mom to the lab. One of my mom's tests may have been questionable and it looks like she will have to have surgery this week or early next week or she is in danger of the tumor rupturing or further blocking her intestines and causing peritonitis. My mom's friend who is a nurse who worked over 35 years in triage in the ER came over to my mom's house today to urge her to act quickly. My mom hates doctors and I have to admit I have some deep seated frustration/anger with her for avoiding getting checked sooner. I pray it doesn't deprive us of her presence in our lives. *sob* Thanks for listening everyone here. You guys have seen me through some tough times the last year or so. I appreciate it so much. thank you.

Thanks so much for listening, everyone. I just wanted to add that it looks like my mom will be having surgery next week. They aren't going to do a biopsy. They are just going to remove the whole thing. It's huge! We're praying it's benign. Her blood tests indicate that she doesn't have cancer, though they can't know until they get in there. I am just so relieved that it sounds like she may be ok.

I have one other friend going through chemo and yet another who has a possible tumor on her lung. It seems like it's been raining cancer in my life lately but right now my hopes and prayers are fervently asking that my mom not be one of them.

My mom goes in pre-op tomorrow morning. Her surgery is Tuesday. Please keep her in your prayers. So far her blood work looks good. The only thing that looks bad is the tumor itself with 1/4 of the core being liquid and not all solid.

RobinB, please let us know what your biopsy shows.
