Phenomenal Women ~ May 30-June 4 !

New thread!

So.....*looks down, kicks dirt*...uhhhmm.... so... I'm seriously considering joining the S.N.A.R.K. Challenge. But, probably not till June 1. I dunno. I told a pal I would be her diet buddy. I dunno if I can do both, KWIM?

I don't really have issues with cheating... once I am on and I am on. Not bucking for the top prize every week, but I am inspired by those who are on plan and doing their thing, considering that so many people in the PG are off plan, you know? I don't get tempted by ice cream threads, but it does bug me that they're there. If I can stick my head in something and not really pay attention to the other stuff, then I won't notice the ice cream threads.

Also, I had an epiphany... I have a Blockbuster Movie rental membership. Blockbuster has TONS of workout DVD's. DUH! I can do them till I get bored and then move to another one!

So how are our other Phenoms doing?

I've given up on the aspirin mask, I'll probably never do it. But I do a facial scrub a few times a week and my skin is looking SO GOOD. I dont even wear makeup most days, just some lip gloss.

I'm in my fabulous 18's and 16's! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I looked at a dress I used to wear, a 20, and cringed. I never EVER wanna be there!

Nanc, have a safe drive to Canada!

Stephanie, I hope your day goes well.

Lizz, I see you lurkiiiiiiiiiiiiing!

Anyone else is welcome to post your questions, comments, and encouragements! If you just feel like being and getting some positive support, this is the thread for you! Join in !

I think I'd better get my useless butt back in this thread and FAST!
I've been really depressed since school ended on the 20th and I need a slap in the face! I have two months to do whatever I want! I can exercise, eat healthy, moisturize, do my nails (all those things I lie to myself and say I never have time to do) but I just cannot get motivated.

I've been lying around on the couch all day, napping and eating cobblers.

I've never been depressed for more than 2- 3 days tops before in my life. That usually happens a couple of times a year but I snap out of it pretty quickly, I'm not bouncing back this time.

I have a dream job, a dream apartment, a dream boyfriend, a fantastic Mom, a super supportive best friend...how can I still let self-pity enter my thinking?
I just can't shake the feeling that no matter how successful I am in other areas of my life, if I can't get control of my weight I'll always be a pathetic human being. Geez. See? This is why I stopped posting here. I didn't want to be a downer and that's exactly what I'm doing!

LibraEssence, I'm sorry about the breakup with your boyfriend. It sounds like you did the right thing for yourself, though because you look like a WISE woman!

Moke, based on your other thread I know what you mean about not doing well in challenges. I always start out with good intentions then get overwhelmed and feel guilty if I don't respond to every single little post. I mean really, there's an "Old School Challenge" at the Playground that I haven't even kept up with! I think I'll go and bump that right now.

Christy, this summer will be an excellent time for you to reveal what a phenomenal woman you are inside. Don't go back to school next fall regretting what you could have done with your summer!!!

I think I just really need to spend some time bettering myself, encouraging my own self confidence, etc.

I'm that way, too, with challenges. I just can't keep track of all the posts and respond accordingly. I guess if it was one-to-one I probably could but oh well...

Has anyone tried the Jergen's lotion that is supposed to retard hair growth? It's also supposed to make the hair come in finer. I'm trying it but you have to use it every day. We'll see.

I need to touch up pedicure and redo manicure today sometime. Shall I stick with red one more time or should I go with pink now? Decisions, decisions.

Just so you know.....if you do join the SNARKS....we do NOT do "personals". I agree it is impossible and overwhelming to keep up with everyone and respond to them. I think that's why a lot of people leave challenges. If I do say....I think that between that and our tough love approach, it's one of the most effective WL challenges I've seen. (But that's just me)

Hidy Ho All! Didn't think to look for a new thread for this week, duh.............

Dom - The ride back to Ontario was good and border crossing was very quick (I like that when that happens).

Steph - how are you doing this week? Did you get the link to the pics?

Christy - Dom is right (as usual "Our Resident Smart Cookie") use this time over the summer to find your "Phenomenal" self.

Kim, have you tried this lotion? Let me know if you do and it works.

Lizz, gonna do some lurking in the Snarks and check out their approach.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I did see Oprah Lizz. Moke, it was about finding your inner sex goddess. They gave some woman make overs, they made over some bedrooms, that taught you how to walk "like a stripper". It was pretty good.

I have it....don't get Fit to Strip that's just a regular workout.

*sigh* that being said, I am the most ungraceful person. I looked so far from sexy doing it. I've only done the DVD once so I'm sure it takes practice but uh...I think I need to be more flexible.

Now the chick who was on Oprah I liked her style, it seemed slower and more sensual where Ms. Electra's is kind of upbeat and quick. I wish the lady who was on Oprah would put out a DVD...I can't do things from a book

Hello Phenoms!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!!

I had the extreme pleasure of spending most of my morning at the DMV Last month I went in for my renewal on my license and a new picture and my daughter Courtney went along with me to get her ID and of course they were mailed out last month on the 19th and we never rec'd them. So, we were back in line at the crack of dawn yesterday waiting to take pictures again I'm hoping that within the next 2 weeks we'll get these this time. What a pain...you would think with all the computer technology that we have now that they could print and do their thing in house and just have you come back between certain hours of the day to pick up your license or ID...it makes no sense to me. I hate waiting

Welcome back OSG...this is a good place to be. It's a good reminder hearing from the other phenoms about their beauty regimes, it keeps me accountable for my own. It never fails, when I decide to do something it always feels like a drudgery until I get into the thick of it, and then I realize this was actually nice.

I missed Oprah yesterday, I want to learn how to move like a stripper and act like a Lady I always notice an air of confidence in women of any size or shape that have that element of sexy about them. Men notice it too. It's a subtle confidence as if she's saying "I have a secret" with her body language. My body language says, "she's tad bit rushed and a little clumsy"

I realize something the other day...I know how to diet as I'm sure a lot of women do. But, I have yet to learn how to stay consistant. Is it an internal dialogue that you have to keep debating with? Do I need to keep telling others to stay accountable? I'm not sure. So I would like to find out from you guys, what are some good ways to stay consistant on a diet/eating plan/way of eating in order to lose weight?

Tonight, I'm doing a cucumber/green tea soak in my foot spa and another aspirin facial to help get rid of residual "zits" from that time of the month

OSG...I forgot to add, your my friend on Netflix now...did you see me...It was pretty interesting...they give you quizes and such on your viewing selections...it was fun

Hi. I have been a lurker on this thread and would like to join in. I have let the little things that I do to help my personal appearance slide. I would like to blame it on my children--I don't have time because I'm playing mommy, but I can't. My kids are 17 and 14! I think I have just gotten in the habit of putting myself last. I really want to get back to pampering myself. I think it will develop more confidence in me.

Thanks for all the ideas!

Daisy

LMAO!!!!

It funny though...before kids but even after I gained my getting older weight I weighed about what i weigh now but I carried myself totally different. I got a LOT of attention from men and I think it was because I felt confident and more attarctive than I do now. Now I'm all surprised if a man gives me a second look.

As for staying on plan.....hmmmmm...I think if there was a formula for success then we'd all reach goal very easily. I don't really even consider myself an emotional eater...I just like to indulge myself. LOL! And sometimes I get really selfish

Oh, you should have seen me in my 20's I thought I was pretty dang cute and your right, it was definitely more about confidence...I had a great job, very little stress and men would go out of their way to approach me. Now, they break their backs trying to approach my 17 y/o daughter But, something happened. I know I wouldn't trade my life now for anything.
I guess I have this correlation that if I was/am thin (which I have never been ever in my time on this earth ) that life would be easier for me. My sister who has always been thin, says "no, you'll just have new problems to deal with"

That may be the reason why I haven't stayed truly committed to losing, I'm just not sure why I want to lose it anymore. Aside from just being healthier all the way around.

I think I'm "over thinking" again

Hi Daisy! Welcome to the thread! I agree with starting off small. A hot bath and a nice all over lotion up makes me feel WONDERFUL. If you have any scrubs or special bubble bath, those would be really nice.
