Happy Mayday and Beltane!!!

Feeling a little crappy today, (TOM is here but calendar is off???)I shuffled and pulled a card, but didn't know the question.... (don't ya just love TOM!)

THE WORLD (upside down)
Gee... that was right on for me today!!!
The world means... hmm.... everything in place.... coming full circle... and of course REVERSED means... scattered thoughts, inabilty to complete todays tasks... inability to stay focused!!!
ohhh great....

WELL I hope everyone around me has a sense of humor today!!!!

On the bright side... I am blonde (well blonde and gray....!)

Merry Meet RubyJ and Starfire!
Well I over slept, so I am rushing through my morning.... I pulled a card again today... hhmmmmm.... interesting... I think I am going to 'cleanse' this deck and use another one tomorrow... but today's card is also from the major arcana - and one of the most misunderstood cards - THE DEVIL (reversed again!).

FYI - I decided to use a off deck for this representation, not the standard Waite deck.... I was afraid of .... upsetting some lurkers who just peak in here..! and there are lots of decks out there!!!
I think of this card as one that is very selfish and explores the lusts of the flesh ... too much shopping, too much eating, too much loving... too much! over indulgence in everything of the flesh, while putting one's true spirit on hold... (Oh I might add that for some people who spend thier lives doing the right thing, they need a little over indulgence sometimes.. just not too much! so it has some good!) BUT REVERSED... not bad... not bad at all.. it's much more spirit related, taking responsibility for your own actions, and more thoughtful of others and much more sensitive to the calls of spirits, inside and out...

I will be more open today.

Also, I decided yesterday to try again to make a personal collage tarot card a day.. I have some 4x6 blank cards and I have tried this before and really like it, but only got to the 5th or 6th card before stoping... 72 is a huge deck, but this is a great way of LEARNING the deck and making it your own. Last time my collage cards were all pictures, but this time, I suspect it will be mostly words... cues.. If I can get them scanned I might start putting them online for you.. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in learning the Tarot, this is a great way to do so....

I find for me, that TAROT, RUNES, etc are a good way of looking inside oneself to find what your subconscience is working on for you... and i have some phobias I need to CURE...

I need to get my decks out and start using/learning. I think runes are fascinating, too, but tarot decks just draw me for some reason (hmmmm... could be the artist in me, huh? ).

We lit a small Beltane fire on the first. It was cold & windy, couldn't have it go too long, but it was nice.

Still doing the waiting game on the new house... having trouble with the selling bank & a flooded basement. Someone told us some false info, and that's going to drag it out even longer, I'm afraid. DH & I both feel that it's our house, though. We're meant to be there. So, we'll wait and see.

We worked in the garden for Beltaine. I wasn't comfortable with the idea of my 6-year old and a maypole.

The cards have been pretty accurate for me, about me, this week so today's card makes me wonder....!
The Tower

Basically, as I understand it, it means: If you think you can or if you think you can't, you are always right. This card is both and either positive or negative, it's all on how you look at it. The cup is half empty and half full. The tower is destroyed, but you were saved. Everything is gone, so you can build over with everything fresh and new.

I woke up at 4:30am after an interesting dream... a couple of lions were roaming around us (I was one of 3 children, ages 5-8?). We were in a old area of overgrowth near a abondoned broken down stone castle and we protected ourselves in a room that remained intact.

VERY ODD... But I think the meaning is that I worry too much about things that are out of my control and this leaves me with a continual feeling of helplessness to the negative and destructive forces around me. AND many of those feelings are of guilt over my adult children's choices. The fact that in my dream we are the same age, stems from the feeling that they seem to have been born with older more mature souls than my own!!!

Any one else have other input on my dream or card?

The Tower card also represents a drastic and sudden change. It's different from the change represented in the Death card (change brought by circumstances); it's a change that you cause.

Since it was posted in another location that tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer, I would like to encourage everyone to pray to the god(s) and/or goddess(s) for the country and peace in the world along with you daily prayers, mediations and affirmations.

BigRed-

I like your idea about making your own deck. I'm thinking I'll try that. I have a couple of decks, and both seem to work equally well for me, but I have trouble *remembering* them. Usually I go with my gut feeling for interpretations, and I've been sucessful.

It snowed on Beltane here, and my group is having its celebration this weekend, so I'm getting ready for that. It should be a lot of fun, I think. We're all bringing our children, and it'll be the first ritual we've had where everyone has had their children there. I guess we'll have to see how that works out for us.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make our celebration a bit more user friendly for the little ones? (Ages 2 - 7)

Pray for peace (and other things... give thanks for what we have and what we have learned)

Shuffled and pulled a card:

This card also indicates: important journeys, correspondence, and favourable news. A card of hope. REVERSED: Great effort and a driving force that is totally wasted through the running out of steam. Silly, spontaneous actions. Cancelled journeys and possibly redundancy or sacking.

Starfire:
I encourage you to try your own deck.

I actually started trying to do a daily art page in an art journal. (I was inspired from this site: http://www.aisling.net/gallery/journals/journals.htm). Now it was only about 3 weeks ago, and I have had to do a double page day twice, but I have tried to do a page a day... and now a card a day as well. My collages are not very impressive, but I like them and that's the point... to sow personal creativity!

ALSO STARFIRE:
for the kids, try adding pastel ribbons in the form of wands and woven wreath headpieces with pastel ribbons attached... and add some music... it might be nice if the kids played simple flutes???

have you heard Will You Be Of Wicca Tonight sung to the tune of Scarborough Fair
http://www.pathwalkers.net/songs/wiccan_fair.html
Scarborough Fair Midi: http://www.hklook.com/midi/enew38.mid

I had a very very very strange dream.... I should start writing these down!

OH I would love to know what everyone thinks of CARDS REVERSED... some people read them in their reversed meaning, others just straighten them before reading.... I am interested in your personal preferences and why.

Hi, folks. Coming into this late - been finishing up the semester, exams, etc - but now I'm done for the summer and can spend some time remembering what my kids look like again! LOL Hubby spend the weekend at a poly retreat scoping out the site since we have 2 festivals scheduled there this summer, and said it's "heaven on earth", which means he liked it. Oh, and our custody thing is FINALLY COMPLETELY over, the child support case was dismissed - woohoo!!!!!

Have a great week - don't know how much I'll be around, but you're in my thoughts!

Teehee - I just wish I could have been there to see her face when the prosecuter told her the case was dismissed. I also I wish I could have heard what the magistrate told her when she tried to argue (since she wasn't getting any support from the state, the agreement she signed in December stood - and in that agreement neither side pays child support - frankly she's REALLY lucky she isn't in jail for welfare fraud - something I'm hoping the magistrate told her). Of course we'll have to deal with her and her weirdness anyway (she's trying to get the 5 year old on SSI, even though all of the testing she had him go through came back negative - he has some developemental delays but he's not autistic or ADD - which I could have told her but she won't listen - she apparently tried to get the school to sign false documents to get the SSI, happily they realized it and told her no way). But at least the legal stuff is over for now. I'm going to give my lawyer (who is AWESOME!) a customized t-shirt that says "That Damn Lawyer", since that is how the ex refers to her. LOL I'm sure it will get a huge laugh!

Apparently it is in "Jessica-world" (my apologies to any Jessicas out there). I don't think she's got a good hold on reality - otherwise she wouldn't have attempted all the stuff she's tried against us. In "Jessica-world" everyone just believes her and does what she tells them to do. In the real world, they tend to take a dim view of welfare fraud and parental alienation.

We're closing on the new house tomorrow! It's finally all come together - Hooray!

Question - since this is a repo, I'd really like to do some sort of cleansing ritual before we get moved in... we'll be cleaning, painting & removing/installing flooring, so that should help remove negative energies, as well as put our own energies in there, but any suggestions on other cleansings or blessings?

My suggestion is: Salt
It's simple, it's inexpensive and it's a cleaning agent! Get a few containers of salt (you know the morton variety) and sprinkle it around the room, make a path around round the room every corner in and out until the whole house has been done, you can pray or chant while doing this, then with a straw broom sweep it up and out. Finally, a light sage smudge through the house.
