She is plowing thru 3 jars a day! Keep this in mind if Alex has some off days. They all have cornstarch but it amounts to 2 carbs per jar. They are 80 calories per jar also. Never in my life have I bought babyfood!

Thanks!

People are finally starting to notice... My teenaged daughter told me that people couldn't tell because all my clothes were too baggy, and that hid the loss. She suggested yoga pants or leggings...

Instead, I just dug out my smaller clothes (you know, the ones I hung onto "just in case"!). For the first time in my life, Just In Case happened!

Well, my well-fitting, but NOT too tight jeans did the trick. Every single person I saw the first time I wore them noticed and commented on my loss. Mama didn't raise no fool... Way to go, DD

What a blur the 3 day weekend was and we really didn't do anything!

Judy, trust me, when your two little ones start talking, you WILL know what they think. So cute and no filters!

Seoul, you are a LOSER, in the best way! Congrats.

Finally got my carbs back to lower level, wow, hard to increase carbs and keep reasonable about it. This is the first day of really low carb. Now, fingers crossed the back pain doesn't return.

Fed one of our tiny kittens baby food, the meat, until she was bigger. 1 teaspoon every 2 hours lol.

Just to clear up any misunderstanding I may have caused.....I did leave the a/c ON for Bailey in the car. I just couldn't lock up the car. That's why I had to keep checking on it, to make sure nobody stole my dog and my car. And to make sure some good samaritan didn't "do us a favor" and shut the back hatch door for us. Bailey steps on the power buttons all the time to roll the windows down and we were afraid she'd step on the door lock button and then we couldn't get in. But all worked out.

Irish Fest was great, as usual. But a terrible storm blew up and ended the evening early. That's ok, I was all pooped out anyway. And still am. It's been a very long 4 days!!!

We had a busy day off. I mopped the floors, slowly getting ready for the meeting that will be here tomorrow. DH still working on the shop addition... then we went for a motorcycle ride after lunch, to check out another rental project... but they were both NO THANKS! Beautiful weather, a few sprinkles, but one of those beautiful clouds, some blue sky & sunshine fall days.

Molly got to help the farmers & DH herd cattle today (they got through the fence because someone left it open). The farmers wife was so happy to have Molly's help. Said she did perfect! We know she was in her glory doing that!

This evening we stacked 2 more cords of wood... took 2 hrs. I feel it. I like the feeling of accomplishment with exercise like that though.

We watched a family of grouse while eating dinner... cute (they're lucky that we don't like grouse anymore)! More wildlife showing up lately... did I tell you I saw a bear the other day? Must be fall coming, causing them to move around.

My thyroid has been making me 'feel' depressed for the last week or so. But today I woke up feeling good.

Morning!
Woke up off and on all night and got up early, due to low low carbs yesterday. Carbs really do make you sleepy.

Debbie, wow, lots of critters to see, even a bear. Hope Molly and the bear don't cross paths. Bet she was proud of her herding skills.

Sandy, I don't think I would have made it through your 4 days! I sure miss the energy and the wanting to go places though. Just have a hard time thinking of places we want to go.

Having lunch tomorrow with an old friend from when our boys played soccer. Meeting tomorrow, we recently hooked up again on FB.

Beautiful, sunny day here, looking forward to cooler fall days. Need to start thinking about what to pack for DC later this month, wish I could just arrive and there would be clothes, shoes, etc waiting for me, oh, and money, money would be good.

Buffy I know - Sandy's weekend is wearing me out! HA HA! Sandy you & your DH are like teenagers!
Which reminds me of your metabolism.... now I get it!

Big rain this morning - came so fast the streets got pretty full pretty fast.
Love a little summer rain.

Piper's parents are having us & Maddox over for fajitas! Yay!

I think my metabolism has left the building!! That's what my dr visit was about this a.m. He took a bunch of blood and will decide if I need anything when he gets the results back. He thinks I'm "fine" but did agree that I've gained 10# since I saw him last a little over a year ago. I told him I used to be able to drop weight quickly and easily and had struggled with this 10# for about a year now. He basically said, that's what happens when you get older! I restrained myself and did not kick him, lol. I also told him I've been having elevated blood sugar upon fasting, so we'll see how my blood results are. I think I could benefit from a little metformin, although I dread the side effects until I get used to it.

I think they only tell us "that's what happens when you get older" when they think they can dodge the kick that's coming!

Will be good to see what the blood tests show.

So... after all these years of low carbing we can still be diabetic, I guess.
Or at least need help. I have certainly had 30 years of "low fat" which I suppose can make one's pancreas very tired indeed.

Hi ladies,

Glad to see Molly has a farm job!!!

Sandy, you and me have the same thing. Let me know what your doctor says. Mt blood test won't be until November for my thyroid. I was thinking I might need to up my thyroid meds, but will wait until my Medicare kicks in. My private insurance won't pay much for the blood work.

Judy, I made those brownies. I did change up the recipe to make them firmer. 4 tbs of butter instead of 6 Tbs. 4 tbs of cocoa instead of 3, and 3 whole eggs instead of 6 yolks. I baked them 25 minutes at 325. They were perfect.

Packing for a trip is hard to do. It might be chilly or hot!! Layers!! Sounds like fun Buffy.

I forgot to comment how neat it was for Molly to find out who she was! LOL
Pat her on the head for us, please, Debby!

My doctor is wondering whether my thyroid is 'enough' but I don't see her until December. Will have blood test before that, though.

Your brownies sound like the changes I should make.
It's a recipe I will definitely keep as a go-to. VERY chocolatey and seems not at all low carb. I'm really enjoying mixing Swerve and xylitol and a little stevia. Seems to work perfectly..
Thank you Carolyn!

Molly ignores bears, she ran right past the one I saw... I was running her with the car. We usually teach our dogs to chase them off. Dogs are super at that. Yes, she's pretty proud of her "herding power"
Funny you... need a maid to pack for you!

LOL Yep, I did fuss over how good she did. She's known she was a herder since she was a tiny pup... born on a farm to working parents. Has been herding ever since... although I try to stop her from herding us! Last year she was trying to herd the cows when she was only 4 months old... they ran 'most of the time' too!
My thyroid is messing up too... very annoying.

Good evening, friends!

Driving out of town tomorrow so won't check in until later, I suppose.

We had dinner with Piper and Maddox. They are so cute together. I'm glad they love each other. DD said Maddox "played" with another baby 1 month older and it was clash of the titans! Constant fussing over the same toy, etc. Weirdly, the cousin babies (so far, at least) play together beautifully. Fun to watch.

DS made fajitas. I brought a big bowl of guacamole (and chips) and DDIL bought a big container of white queso from Lambrusco's in Tulsa - very very yummy. They also had rice & beans & tortillas, but you can see what I ate. DS is really becoming a wonderful cook!

Morning.
Another night of tossing and turning, I hate that. Laid there knowing that carbs would put me into a sound sleep but I fought off that urge. Arrrggghh
Hate the effects of getting older! Not fair. Getting older should earn us a few free passes, feel good, be thin, have energy!
Judy, would love to see your little ones play, Ollie loves his younger cousin too.
Have some errands to run after meeting my friend for lunch.
Yesterday I was feeling the same effect I usually get when inlower carbs, weakness in limbs. Ate a pinch of coarse sea salt each time I walked by it and was surprised at how much it helped. I get a lot of salt from my food but apparently not enough.
Happy a hump Day

Oh gosh - wouldn't it be nice if it's that simple - a pinch of salt here & there?
Hope so.
I know it's a process.

I am now in a magnesium group (on fb) and think adding magnesium & potassium & salt are so important - especially to low carb.
Not done researching, so I can't preach it. LOL

Hi ladies.

My dd was interviewed by a The Pitch in KCity. I put it on my FB. Did anyone here see it??
Shamelessly proud.

Dr. Eades of PP was a bif fan of potassium.

Buffy, were you a member do the Salty Dogs years back on LCF? We followed The Water Cure (website) and took in Celtic Sea Salt with our water. It is a very interesting theory on health so if you gave a chance anyone, go to The Water Cure website.

I do think they said that Celtic Sea Salt can help you sleep.

I made the fake Mexican refried beans from the back of Keto Clarity..Absolutely yummy.
You make it with eggplant/bacon/garlic/onions/spices..I'll give this group the recipe if
you want..

And, my friend loved the brownies from Judy.. Last night I served dh one in a little
bowl with whipped cream and Hershey's SF syrup..It was like having a party in a bowl..

My dear friend Kathy is on the LC plan..We met for Bible Study..I am giving her an extra
glucometer..her "thing" is that she eats at night, but has high carb cereal..WHAT? I told
her to test her sugar after eating a bowl..

Hey girls. For those of you who have been here a few years, you remember almost 5 years ago, my BFF was diagnosed with brain cancer. Well, she has just been put in hospice with roughly 6 weeks to live. We were lucky to get 5 years.
