Morning!

DGS and I are going to brunch before he has to go to band camp, omelet, yum!

DD had another small loss, so happy she is seeing this before she got too discouraged.

Still looking for oat flour so I don't have to order it.

Down a little over 10 lbs since finding my way back.

Been skimming through Keto Clarity, good book. Sad to see that we should not be counting net carbs , but total. I'm sure they are right, gets us even further away from processed food which is good but unless I stall, will continue to use some items sparingly.

I find Bob's Red Mill oat flour at a local market.
I wonder if they have it at Whole Foods or Sprouts, maybe.
You're not talking about oat fiber , right?

Carolyn I hope you are well.

I'm just popping in to connect the dots. You are all so busy and as you know I'm wrapped up in my therapy sessions and extra biking at home to keep my knee going smooth. Tomorrow is my 10 week appt. and X-ray. That will be interesting to finally see my knee joint.

We are still dry as a bone here in California. Dh and I were planning a nice get away camping trip and boom! Fire broke out where we were planning to spend our week and now the main roads to get to it are closed off. Sigh.. Hope our camping place is still there next year when our family camping comes around again.

It's getting close to time to go so will end this. Have a nice day everyone.

Success, found the oat flour at Fresh Market. One more thing off my list, that I probably had but threw away

Sharon, so sad about those fires and ruining your camping plans.

Thanks Judy, I do have oat fiber.

Cheeseburgers for dinner, hope I get hungry by then that omelet w avocado really filled me up!

Girls, I am much better today. My week of illness is up..

Shawn's dad (soninlaw) had an ankle replacement today in Coffeyville. The surgeon had never done one before, but he flew in an expert from Duke and he practiced on a dead
person yesterday. So, we were at the hospital with Connie today..David did great and
is feeling okay.. Connie is hoping that they will also get his diabetes under control while there..

Then I had to give a knitting lesson this afternoon..

Now cooking dinner is another story..Eww...but we can find something.

Thanks for the offer of the "tending" Judy.

So glad you are feeling much better Carolyn.

Hmmm, didn't know they did ankle replacements! Watching diabetes research on the bionic pancreas, hoping for good things to come.

The more you read, study, especially all the info that is out now on LC, paleo, eliminating sugar and grains, getting the good fats back in our diets, the more you realize the trend that has been happening in our lives. The medical field is taught how to treat everything with medicine, replacements etc and have lost sight of or not trained in how to prevent or reverse health problems. I am really sad about the way they treat diabetes, they still buy into having to have too many carbs per meal, then just use enough meds and or insulin to cover the blood sugar rises that come from that. My DD with type 1 has really educated herself on this and keeps a super tight control on her BS, not having to use near as much insulin as others. Glad she came to visit and got me back on track. Just hope I don't get weak and throw in the towel this time.

Really making an effort to see I get all the minerals I need now, last time they really got out of whack, sometimes wonder if that is what got my blood pressure so messed up?

I have just ordered some kind of super duper magnesium. I had been taking magnesium glycinate, but wonder what the super duper magnesium might do.

My skepticism failed to help me - the MD touting the better quality and higher amount (without the laxative effect) is also selling the mag. Of course.
Will let you all know if I spontaneously lose 5 pounds and have better thyroid numbers, LOL.

The last purchase I made of magnesium is the liquid ionic magnesium. The only thing different is my ability to now, fall asleep easily, and sleep well. I don't have any idea if it is the magnesium or LC, or HF, or what?

Let me know if you are able to jump higher, run faster, or lose that 5 lbs.

Hi,

I am always interested in Magnesium and bought some Slo Mag. I don't know if it did anything.

Back on plan after a carb feast while sick. Saltines taste great when you are sick, but are so addictive.

No towels are to be thrown in, Buffy. None.

Good morning ladies!

I was at 148 this morning..Maybe it was because I only had a shake for dinner.. and no snacks afterwards.

Dh is heading to the farm for mowing and a sleepover by himself. I could go, but Alex and I will stay home and take Scarlet out for one last fling (new Taco Bell) before school starts Monday.

There is a Girl's Night Out at church tonight with a movie. They always have cupcakes, but I am going to resist and maybe make a LC zuke recipe I found on FB this a.m.
We might have some diabetics there..

Hugs to you all..

Carolyn's enviable life continues...
I have also wanted to make a zucchini bread - just have it on my list and will eventually get to it, I guess.

I may make a 1/2 portion of Chicken Lady's carrot cake for my friend whose 60th is today. Might ease the pain. LOL

Happy day to all!

Oh Caroyln, please make those brownies you shared on FB and report back, have you made any of her other recipes? Please, please

I cannot believe how many sources of LC, SF recipes there are today and all the websites and books and blogs, I can't get anything done around here!

Ok, I had run out of magnesium before I got back on LC and just hadn't replaced it. Started LC, ordered the liquid ionic mag and started with recommended dose. Then decided I needed to double that. Have been falling right to sleep and sleeping well, plus, hadn't had RLS like I usually do. I didn't take it yesterday. Last night had RLS, woke up after 3 hours of sleep, couldn't get back to sleep, etc. I really think the mag is making a difference.

I am having a lot of lower back pain, right above waist, especially on left side, searched and found not to uncommon on LC, one person suggested dandelion root so will add some of that after I go to store. I even upped my carbs yesterday to see if that would help, all it did was show up on the scale

Have fun with Scarlet, how nice for her.

The Chicken Lady's carrot cake??
I'm pretty sure you could charge $7.50 for a small piece at Christmas/toffee time.
HOWEVER it would be low carb gluten free! Not that anybody could tell.

If I don't get better sleeping results with my super duper (I think it's liquid) magnesium I'm going to get your kind, Buffy.
And DD has RLS sometimes and my cute smart mother does, too.

Magnesium to the rescuuuuuuuuuueeee!!!

Took my mag yesterday, slept really well. I am also adding a multi mineral daily to my supplements. I don't seem to get the burst of energy some get on LC? Or just a teeny little would be nice

I am out of my chicken soup so last night fixed a cup of broth from a teaspoon of jarred chicken base, yuck, even those I added salt and butter. Out comes the crockpot, more soup to be made!

Brownie report: I cooked them too long (30 minutes) and they were a bit dry. The taste was good, though. However, the gal is counting on the zukes to release the water to make the batter moister. Never trust a zucchini. The batter is way too thick, so the next time I make these I will add water so it resembles brownie batter. Or, you could cut back on the coconut flour, too.

Buffy I wish you would get some more energy, too. Maybe it will take awhile.

I added my new magnesium last night, to the 800 mg. magnesium glycinate I already take each night and had some pretty bad leg cramps. So annoying. And it doesn't make sense. I'm going to pay $50 and get my magnesium level tested.

Thank you, Carolyn, for the heads up on the brownies. I have it in my list of things to try and soon. Glad the taste was good!

I think I might make some chocolate cream cheese muffins. My mother would like those, too.

My SS's cute smart daughter is f-i-n-a-l-l-y engaged to the young man she's been dating about 7 years. SS said she needs to lose 8 pounds by the wedding next year. She tried on her 37-year-old wedding dress and I must say, I agree. LOL
I am recommending she do an egg fast off & on.
I follow a couple of those pages on my fake facebook page and it seems like a good way to shake things up. I like the idea of doing something different but still not being hungry. And with the eggs you keep the protein.
I think I'm going to do it here and there, too, for only a few days at a time.
Will take a little advance planning.

And probably no brownies.
