Fat fast question please

I purchased the ebook "Fat Fast". In the book it says to only do the fat fast for 5 days. It seems that everyone here is doing high fat on an ongoing basis. I have read through a lot of posts and I am understanding the concept of having more fat but does anyone know why they recommend only 5 days when the EFGT book says we can do high fat all the time?

Thanks to anyone who can shed some insight. I just want to be sure I am doing this correctly.

I wish I had a better answer for you but I have been doing a Fat Fast for 7 days now and in addition to it working very well I feel great. I'll probably keep it going until the end of this week.

My daily intake is below

Total cals: 1200 - 1400
Carbs: 8-10 g
Fat: 100-105g
Protein: 55-60g

Because the fat fast can be very low in protein, going for much longer than a few days could cause your body to try to use it's own protein for fuel. But a reload of a regular portion protein meals for a few days and I don't see why you couldn't cycle on and off of fat fast. Just make sure you get enough quality protein in between fasts.
