Still the same here too. I'm afraid I've reached a new set point! So it's really going to take some hard work and determination to move it back down. I start off my weeks well and then slowly disintegrate from there. I'm thinking I might need to try something new, but still low carb, to get me enthused about doing this.

Thanks for starting us up Carolyn. I hope the name is prophetic for all of us!!

Sandy, we are strong coffee drinkers too!

Carolyn, we never miss a Shark Tank. I'm always surprised when the sharks think something is great and I'm like, "That's junk!"

Hold on, running in to weigh....... 129. Guess I need to try harder!

We have a horse show coming up so I have been to the barn every day. We are NOT ready but we need the experience of a recognized show as opposed to a schooling show. They decorate the jumps at a recognized show and that makes my big girl nervous so we have to do it, ready or not!!

Hi ladies,

Chakka is more of a down home gal. She likes her jumps simple. Best wishes to you both!!!

Passed up some homemade donuts today. .

Sandy, I was thinking the same thing about the set point. It takes a chisel and a hammer to get off it. We are going to Nashville week after next, so I definitely want to lose a pound or two. The weather is the same as here, so will bring layers. My skinny friend Sharon is going. She eats tiny bits of food. I should eat what she eats. Her dh usually eats the rest of her meal plus his.

How is Sharon today???

And, how is Phil doing???

Judy, clothes fitting is a good thing!!!

Tennessee is someplace I'd like to spend more time - I've really only driven through here and there. I hope you have a nice trip when you go. Maybe being with a skinny friend will rub off. Lol! But Carolyn you already look good right now.

Echoing Carolyn's questions!

MK, I think you're a wonder woman!! No way can you fall apart!! Let the chiro glue the weak places back so you can keep on taking care of everybody. When everybody is better you need an extra long vacation!

MK - just wondering - what do you wish to weigh?
It seems you found your perfect way of eating.
I feel no need to point a finger at anyone who weighs 108.

GREAT NEWS that Phil is getting a little snarky!!
Sure means he is healing and uncomfortable not feeling great - he'll be there soon!
Thanks to you and your wonderful family and friends, of course.

Hope the cracker packer fixed you up for now.

I'm late for a very important date! Checking in with you all. I'm not weighing right now as I know I still have a bunch of swelling. Pt has me at the kitchen sink doing squats and toe and heel rolls now. Haven't done those yet but did the other moves once today. Will be giving those another try before bed so I won't look sheepish when the Pt come tomorrow.

Our heat wave will be leaving by the weekend (fingers crossed). I know I'll feel more like getting around on the walker more. Out in the backyard and around the house.

Eating is on target so will be interested on what the scale says when recovery time is closer.

See ya later.

Sharon you definitely get a pass for awhile - there must be swelling and inflammation from the surgery!
Nice to hear from you!

hi!

DH and I had 'come to Jesus' talk this morning. He's not taking it well.
Silence is golden, right?!

Carolyn - Retirement isn't an option - we'll kill each other.

Judy - no clue what I want to weigh. But I have to fit into the new clothes I bought for summer ~ assuming it ever arrives.
And the chiro said it will a long 8 weeks of 3 day a week appointments.

Hi Sharon! Glad you're healing!!

Sandy - i need a looooonnnngggg vacation!

Oh Mary Kay! I hope the Lord uses your talk with DH to touch his heart. God's promises are true... He will draw him. Has he given his heart to Jesus? I saw my dad & father in law both come to Jesus right in the end of their lives. Where there was no hope, God reached them both.
Hope you get the scale going in the right direction too...

Hi

Good morning!!

Okay, MK, what did you do to your back??? That is an intense regiment. My chiro says that if someone isn't better by 10 treatments, then it is a very difficult case. I go once a month for a tune-up. The secret to our retirement is that everyone is busy, plus 2 tvs and 2 cars.

My friend retired from nursing and her dh retired. He followed her around the house all the time. She made him get a job, so he drives problem kids to an after school program.

Hope everyone is doing fine....

losing

I have lost 10 lbs in the last week, but since it was my first week, I know it is probably all water. Right?
I love this woe. I have lost all my cravings for sugar, no hunger, and I am starting to have energy. and all the swelling in my ankles is gone and some of the swelling in my knees is gone. I am so glad I found this site. It is wonderful. I would be very happy if I could lose 15 lbs a month. I have so much to go. Starting weight was 238 and 5'2".
I have 47 months to retirement. I could retire in 24 but financially need to wait until 47 and have no bills. I have so many hobby interests that I don't think I will ever be bored. I sew, make jewelry, love working with clay and if I get this weight off so I can stand longer, I used to love working in the yard, so I can't wait.
Is there a way to get my picture and stats with my name?

And hopefully I'll heal quicker than the chiro says .... it's both my back and my shoulder.

Dear MK - helpful!

We are at the lake. SS, dear BIL and wonderful cute smart mother came, too.
Lots of fishing and my low carb cooking going on here!
We'll go home tomorrow.

Hi gang,

Kansas goes from 40 degrees to 99 in just a few days.. So, it is indeed lake weather..
Hope you had a great time, Judy.

Wow...Lady, that is incredible for your first week!!

MK: I think you will heal faster than your chiro says..You are in good shape and you have good muscle tone, so that helps.

Dh's old boss died in Tulsa at the nursing home..He had been there for 3 years since he had his stroke..He was a millionaire, but didn't take care of his diabetes, was way overweight, etc..So, there you go..Dh is going to the funeral today. He was 83, but it was a miracle that he lived that long..

Staying home after my exercise to get some laundry done...No cooking, either..

Hi all, we had a great but busy weekend. We went to the Kansas Sampler festival Saturday and then went fishing after. So far, trout fishing is my favorite. I think that's because they're so easy to catch! We only caught 3 crappie Saturday and went again Sunday and caught one little baby that we let go. So I sure hope that picks up or I might lose my fishing enthusiasm, until trout season comes around again.
Yes our Kansas weather is crazy. A week ago we were freezing and today it's 90+ degrees!! Typical though, so I don't know why we're so surprised when it happens, but I know I am.

Did anybody watch the 90+ segment on 60 Minutes last night? If you didn't, I think it's worth finding it online and watching it. I found it very interesting and encouraging.

My SS, husband & DBIL caught 30 - 40 crappie.
If I'd known they were hopping on the hook, I'd have gone down & fished, too!!

I am pretty sure I saw an otter! We had driven to a little store and on our way back, I saw what almost looked at a little stuffed animal, brown fur, long-ish furry tail, going from the easement into the brush at the side of the road. I had to think for a minute and then decided it was an otter. Not a squirrel, not a rat... I've seen sea otter and I guess maybe I've seen river otters at the state fair?
Anyway, I'm going to say I saw an otter, LOL!

Sandy what was the subject matter of the 60 minutes show? Oh I am so lazy - I guess I could just find it myself.

I liked trout fishing in Colorado a few years ago - when they were jumping on my hook! If fishing requires patience, all of a sudden I'm not such a fan.

hi!
Judy, you could eat for days!!

Sandy - yes, share for those of us too lazy to look for 60 minutes.

Carolyn - I hope I can heal quickly.
And I love 90°!! We're only getting into the 80's this week.
