Sandy does Bailey stay with friends or family when you take your beach vacations? My boys would simply pass out if there family pack where split up. Laughing!

Yes, Sharon, she's always been with family when we've gone on our trips before so I'm sure it was quite a shock to her. That's why I took her for the orientation visits at doggie daycare first. Also her groomer is in the same place so at least the place was familiar after the daycare and being groomed there twice. She acts perfectly ok now so I guess there was no long term psychological damage, lol.

Alex had no psychological damage from having a pet sitter, but Amy said he was very loving by Friday...I think our pets "live in the moment"..or something like that.

Next goal: 146..I hit 147, but need to drop a bit.

Anyone have any plans for the weekend..Ds is coming home sometime this weekend.
KCity cousin is coming on Sunday (after doing cemetery flowers) and Glen and Brenda
are coming, too for lunch on Sunday.. It will be nice seeing them..

We need rain..How about you?

We need rain too! Although it is clouding up, it always seems to bypass us! Planting, planting, planting! I put in 19 flats of impatients! It never seems like you are going to need that much until you get going!

Merlin loves the kennel. He likes hanging out with the other dogs!

DH is going to KC for a couple of grad parties this weekend. I get a weekend alone.

We'll be at the lake.
Come visit, please.

I love the idea of calling a landscaper and handing out jobs! Well done, MK!

MK, love the idea of a meditation garden!! And enjoy your time alone. Of all the people I know, I believe you deserve time alone more than anybody! Soak it up!

Hi gang,

A meditation garden sounds lovely..with a little waterfall..

I think Labs are extremely social..Our local lab loves playing with other dogs and
brings them to our house for doggie treats..LOL..Maddie (local lab) used to live across the street, but her family was putting her in a fenced in yard because she brought
home dead things. She moved across the street and down a few houses and adopted another family. She was singing, "Don't Fence Me In" as she established a new home.

Dh is driving himself??? to KC??? He must be doing better or going with others. It will
be good for him to see his relatives..Nice you can stay home..

He's driving himself!
He's been working full time since last week and has made quite a few day trips.

I think we're both ready for some time apart!

Sandy - how will you eat more fish?! Are you freezing them?

Carolyn - no waterfall - just a simple walking path.

Sorry it's so big! I found a different one that will fit the space better that is more rectangular.

Judy - which lake? In case a have a free minute ......

Love it MK!!! And yes, we're freezing our fish catch. What we're not eating along the way, that is. We had trout last night that was delicious! We had to go buy a small freezer as our fridge freezer sure doesn't hold much.

Did I tell you all that on our last trip home our garage fridge/freezer had stopped running and all the food had rotted??? Yuck!!!!!!! That was horrrible!!!

Hi,

Oh my Sandy! What a mess!! You never know what is happening when you are away. My friends ice maker kept running and running and got stuck and flooded the kitchen floor.

Lovely meditation garden. I think it is amazing that Phil is doing so well!! Working and driving is great news!! And now Merlin can get as spoiled as ever with his mom home with him!

Have fun at the Lake. Some Independence peeps are down there and love it!! Have fun with Baby Maddox. We might need a picture.

I made some cold drip coffee concentrate yesterday. It was a Ronco thing I bought at
Walgreens. Will see how it is this am.

looks like rain.

Dd and her dh are heading to New Orleans today for vacation then onto Gulf Shores, then to Memphis. Hope they have good weather.

Have you all ever been to Joplin to eat at Wilder's? This is us there last night.
Supposedly their beef is grass-fed. We had steaks, all very good.

No, we haven't been to Wilder's, but it is on my list!! Great family picture. Maddox has great hair!!!

Had a goodby lunch for my friend. Had crustless quiche and a small salad. I don't think there was much fat in the quiche cuz I was hungry when I got home.

Waiting for the rain....

Hi ladies!!!

I was listening to a Classic Jimmy Moore podcast with Jackie Eberstein this am and one of the things she said really resonated with me. "Post menopausal women for the most part have to cut their carbs lower than younger women. Maybe even to 20. That is what I have to do and I exercise 6 days a week."

This was the main idea and she went to say that mood swings can be unstable sugar levels for over carbing.

It is excellent to listen to. . Big hugs.

Wow. That's really low carbs. I have such a problem with regularity if I cut my carbs that low. Can't even eat that many veggies & keep it that low. Thanks for sharing.

I am glad to hear this. I find it pretty easy to keep carbs at 30. I might tighten up after a little bit.

But that working out part....

I do think that is net carbs..And she said the carbs of choice are veggies, of course..So, you can eat a lot of broccoli for very few carbs..

Magnesium is my "friend"..LOL..

Made that almond bran recipe that was posted this morning on the BB for Recipes..It is very, very good..Ballpark 200 calories/4 net carbs..lots of fiber..

LOL... I eat more than 30 carbs in broccoli alone... also depend heavily on magnesium...

I went to a wedding today. It was sweet. Their ages... wife-72 yrs & husband-80 yrs. So different when everyone's so old! They sat, facing the crowd, while the son (a pastor) preached & married them. Maids of honor were daughters, best man - son, giving away bride - son... Grandsons doing filming, great-grand-daughter flower girl.

Judy, what a great pic! And yes, you are beautiful!!! And of course so is Maddox. I have not eaten there, but it's probably the ONLY place I have NOT eaten in the last few days! We're having a great holiday weekend though. DH bought a Traeger smoker today so tomorrow we're having ribs!!

Debby, that sounds like a very sweet wedding. Magnesium is my friend too. But even when I forget it once in a while, all is good. And I had bowel problems my WHOLE life, eating the SAD. I'm not a big believer in fiber. I've eaten tons of fiber in the past without no results. LC along with mag and I'm good to go, literally, lol.

MK - that design is also beautiful - and peaceful.
I only send the good pictures. LOL

Debby what a great wedding!!! I love hearing that.
Sounds very loving.

Carolyn I'm going to look for that recipe. I trust your taste buds implicitly!
Gosh I hope the 20 was net carbs.

Sandy on Ouizoid's tortillas thread where I mentioned the fresh corn seasoning or drops or liquid or whatever we both have - I really don't think I can tell I put any flavoring in there. I used one of those tortillas for my "bun" tonight for a hamburger. Just very neutral, which is dandy fine with me, but not worth the flavor juice.

I wonder how much we need to use to make it worthwhile?

HA HA! Sandy I think we posted at the same time.

I forgot to chime in with my lifelong love of magnesium, too.
I am right now taking magnesium glycinate.
