Hi gals..

Mary Kay did look fantastic on FB.. I'm sure she looks even better in person..

Dh is off to the farm..So, I have the house to myself.. He will be busying mowing two
places this summer..It is a good thing..really.

I skipped exercise again today..Had some errands to run and then Bible Study this afternoon..We have our brunch next Tuesday then we are done for the summer. Last meeting always involves wonderful food.

Waving to everyone! I have been keeping up with everyone but just feel like lurking in the shadows.

My mind has been thinking of this surgery coming up Thursday. Today starts the antibacterial showers. I'll be going in at 9 am with surgery at 11. The stay will be until I can get my knee to bend to 90 degrees then I can come home with some PT at the house.

Boy oh boy! I'll be glad when this is over.

We will be thinking of you Sharon.
Can you check in while in hospital?
Do they give you an approximate length of time they think you'll be in hospital?

Carolyn, I turned in my report early this morning and, as usual, started scouring for recipes (honestly I have an illness. I am sure I do.)

Finally decided on our breakfast (at noon).
Made Better Than Flour biscuit, sliced and toasted.
Sliced very thin slices of terrific sharp cheddar.
Had no Canadian bacon, so used bacon.
Topped with barely-cooked poached eggs and I made Ree Drummond's Hollandaise sauce!

Might not need to eat again.
So decadent - so so good.

Will somebody look for new dishes for me? I've outlived my love for my wedding dishes. lol

And the reason I direct this as Carolyn is I imagine she'll cook while she has the house to herself!

Good morning!!

Oh my, Sharon. Will be thinking and praying for wisdom for the doctors and peace for you. You will do great!!!!

Yummy, Judy that looked marvelous!!! Next Monday I am making the Banana Split Cake recipe for our small group's dinner. One of the best desserts ever.

Does anyone do genealogy?? I have been working on my mother's side, which was quite difficult as Grandma Thompson never shared about her parents or ever saw them. I ordered her SS application and found who they were, so that helped a little bit.

Have a great day!!!

Here's my wave for today!

Sorry I can't help on the genealogy front. I do a lot lot lot of title work, but it's usually a different animal for genealogy - you search differently than I would.
If you think there's something I could help with, though, I'd be proud to help!

Happy day to all - Sharon - thinking of you!

Got to see DGS again this afternoon - an unexpected treat after our big Easter dinner with both babies and my SS & BIL and my cute smart mother.

Choir practice for TWO HOURS
Really?
The Wednesday after Easter?
Yes.
We did.

I find coffee an easy thing to be disappointed in.
We brew very very strong coffee at home and sometimes when I eat out, I'll get tea instead of the brown water they call coffee.

We brew strong coffee at our house too. When my poor dad visits, who only likes brown water, I have to water his down with hot water, lol. Very seldom can you find good strong coffee in a restaurant. Savoy Grill in KC has excellent coffee!!

Hi gang

We went to the Savoy Grill for dd's graduation party from KU. Need to go again for sure. At my coffee shop I ask for 3 shots of espresso and a bit of hot water so there is about 2 inches from the top. Then I add cream. Lol.

Seeing grand babies!!! Fun.

Looks like we are getting some bad weather this weekend...eekkk. It is that tornado season. Hate it. Brett is on the top floor. He had better get to know his first floor neighbors.

Off to exercise.

I always dread the tornado season and especially dread it this year. I'm already praying for no tornado warnings here!! I really need to look for the nearest shelter or at least figure out what I would do if a tornado is headed towards us.

Yes, Carolyn Brett really needs to make friends with his downstairs neighbors!
Sandy - please do think where you would go.
And let's all hope and pray for no tornadoes!

Carolyn I like the way you order your coffee.

I do not take cream in my coffee - never have.
When I flew to Tucson to rescue DMIL a few weeks ago, I was in the DFW airport, looking for Buffy, but found a Starbucks.
I had only had the mediocre coffee on the flight from Tulsa to DFW, so was ready for much better.

I ordered my normal boldest roast available with 2 shots of espresso and on a whim, asked for heavy cream - not 1/2 & 1/2. They had to add it behind the counter.
I couldn't believe how much I liked it. But for some reason, I haven't added it since.
Habits.

That's interesting Judy. I used to never drink cream in my coffee either but on a whim, at Savoy Grill, BTW, I added some of DH's cream to my coffee and have used cream ever since. Except one year during lent. That was a long lent!! I consider giving it up at times but I enjoy it so much I just keep on using it.

Oh, I didn't know that Starbucks hides their heavy cream in the fridge. Heavy cream in coffee is decadent.

AKKKK. I got a jury application in the mail today. I can write a letter telling them when I will be out of town for vacation. Otherwise.... I hate jury duty and I was picked for a meth case about 5 yrs back. We knew he was guilty but the police didn't have the proof.

Oh drat for the jury duty.
I was called once, but not chosen.
Self-employed people are at a real loss (literally) if having to serve on a long trial.
If I don't work I don't get paid.
But I don't think they accept it as an excuse.
I simply wasn't chosen for my stint.
Good luck on whatever is the outcome of yours.

I called the clerk's office and know the lady who answered the phone. She said to write down our vacation dates on a separate piece of paper and they put it into the computer.

Hi ladies!!

Going to be a weathery weekend, but for us, not as bad as it could be. How is OK looking, Judy??

Dh and I love Shark Tank on Friday nights. Anyone else???

Scarlet and I are going to Heaven is for Real this afternoon. She is excited about seeing it, too.

Have to dig out my Spring clothes and hope they fit...

Yes we love Shark Tank too! I record it every week so we're sure not to miss it.

I want to see that movie too! I loved the book. Let me know how it is please.

I'm dreading the bad weather they're forecasting for tomorrow. I wish we could just have good rains and miss the storm part of it!

It's already a beautiful morning here and looks to be a beautiful day. DH is at work but hopefully it'll be a short day. I feel like I need to be outside as much as possible and soak this all up!

Sitting outside the Y because the pool is closed for 30 minutes. My friend is late anyway so it gives me more time to drink my coffee.

Today is supposed to be beautiful. Tomorrow could get bad but I think Carolyn, it might be worse for you tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you And I sure hope it stays okay but we still get rain.

Are we ever going to leave this winter behind??? I've been freezing all day long! I can't believe it's the end of the month again already. I can tell you all right now, my progress downwards has been miniscule if at all. I just can't seem to get in the right groove to make any progress. I keep hoping something is going to kick in and I'll get motivated. But it hasn't happened quite yet.

I do genealogy. I have for about 30 years. I love it. I just finished helping my ex husband getting into Sons of the American Revolution. I had to research one line completely all the way back to the Patriot. You have to prove with documentation all you do. We have a genealogy library in town. Once you have that name of a Grandparent, Census records are great. They have so much information. Then you just follow that thread back.
