It does work - though he hasn't had anything to eat or drink yet.
Totally TMI, but since you asked: He's getting IV fluids and there's liquid in the catheter bag, so .....

Hi ladies!!

Wow, MK, so amazing that things are working. Poor Phil must be starving!!

Off to a meeting in Bartlesville today. Might stop at Aldis on the way home. This lady has an amazing home that looks like Tara.. They own 5 radio stations, but she is the nicest, most generous lady ever.

Gosh, it feels very warm out there today... No tornadoes around here yet.

Morning
Love the lady who ate at
Mc D!

Like the article I read that poor people don't have food allergies or gluten intolerance, they can't afford them

Got a little clap of thunder and some rain but need much more!

Yay for Phil's new bladder

Carolyn, I would love to see the Tara house, love them!

Feeling a little overwhelmed this morning, can't and don't move fast enough these days to get everything done AND have the time to goof off that ?I want, but my carpet is always vacuumed , thanks to my Neato I have named Robbie the Robot! I need a Rosie for the kitchen and a Robert for the office

You girls are such a HOOT! Buffy - my kitties would freak out if I had a vacuum cleaner that crept around all over. Plus we have a quad level....lots of stairs and levels. So..."due to my allergies" my DH vacuums for me! Sometimes he's not a bad Rosie either!!

Judy - unicorn...pixie dust... Cindy is right--that there is funny stuff!!

Carolyn - Still carrying around the Questbar wrapper from TWO weeks ago!! I haven't made it to a GNC yet...I think we have one of those around here.

I was doing so good...ordered a pulled pork sandwich from local BBQ place and it CAME with homemade chips. I told the cashier to tell them to only put 3-4 chips in there...not what comes with the order. Communication....my receipt didn't say no chips, or 3-4 chips, got the usual amount. I don't even like chips....but it was 7pm and I ate 'em all.
Judy - this isn't going to feel good in the morning when I'm bloated!! But otherwise have been doing well the past 3 days. Back to being good right now!!

Looks like a knee replacement is in my future. I saw the X-rays and boy what a mess. I'm rubbing bone on bone and a lot of bone spurs. I'll be going in on the 24th.

Ah Sharon, sorry you have to get a knee replacement. But that's another one of the modern medical miracles... Wonderful that you don't have to wait too long for it.

Yes and yes!!!
Miracles in medicine are still miracles!

Mary Kay I am still in prayer and good thoughts mode!

Sharon - I don't know anybody who doesn't love their knee replacement!
I hope to add you to that list. The pain is BAD.

One summer at our lake house, one of the neighbors was in the pool with us. He's an orthopedic surgeon and had his knee replaced! He was swimming and moving around rather specifically and said he was doing exactly what he told his patients after a knee replacement - as he had just had! - and he was progressing perfectly well.
So do what they tell you. If you can.

As Judy says, yes, yes

I didn't do so well on my eating yesterday either, but, today's a new day.

Rough storms moved through just a few miles north of us yesterday evening, 3 hail storms hit the same area about 12 miles from us, lots of people we know had damage to their homes and vehicles, and the super walmart had skylights broken, baseball size hail. Roofers in the neighborhood within 30 minutes going door to door, buyer beware!

Much needed hair cut today and my wonderful DDIL is going to bring my color and do it for me when they are here for Easter. She does amazing color but doesn't cut hair.

Dinner club gals getting together tonite, fun, fun!

Buffy I heard about that hail.
The news people always remind us the door-to-door people might not be trustworthy.
Did you all escape the hail?
I think your dinner club pals are enviable friendships!

Got to see dear college friend and her husband who flew in yesterday. Old friends are so dear!

Yikes! You really get the hail there, huh? No tornado to go with it? Whew!

I need to color my hair this week-end too.

Hope getting back on track is a breeze for you!

Hi!,

Sharon, better to have the knee replacement now that you are younger. My friends dh just had his knee replaced with no problems, but the little old ladies in his PT class had let their muscles deterioate so badly that they have to use a towel to lift their new knee up. Not good!!! You won't have a problem, I'm sure!!

When is Phil going home, MK?..

No hail here yesterday. No tornadoes, but we have had Watches.

Debbie, remember Lisa from the coffee shop?. She started a couple of weeks ago with Dr. Cobb. We are meeting tomorrow for coffee. I think she needs a little encouragement.

I am off the bagels for a while to see if that will help me get those 2 pounds off.

This must be the week for hair coloring. My avi shows what I had done today. I'm trying to lighten it a bit to maybe help hide the gray more when I get that "new growth" look.

Oh Sandy that is pretty!
And a great picture, too!

I had my hair "darkened" a bit last time because my hair seems to be trending toward platinum blonde.
My color person explained it was lighter and lighter because I was more and more gray.

I did NOT say, "Thank you captain obvious!"
I didn't say that.
But I thought it in my head.

Ok, we are all turning gray and falling apart on this thread!!!

Sharon, get the epidural for post op pain. Trust me on this!

MK, will Phil have to self cath?

Sandy and Judy, my hairdresser has her hands full keeping my gray "blond"! Windy here, chilly, a typical April.

That looks real cute Sandy! I did that years ago... my natural hair color was very dark brown (like yours)... but turned white years ago. I swore I wouldn't do the "skunk" thing... & went lighter years ago. Now my hair lightens (like yours Judy) & I have to 'darken' it every month... but its great that the roots don't show.

Love that color, Sandy. Did the "school" do that??? Love it.

An epidural sounds good to me after knee surgery.

So, I think that grey hair is harder to lighten. I wonder what my hair would look like if I let it go. Not good.

He'll have to learn how in case he ever needs it.
He'll go home with a cath though and a visiting nurse will come in daily for 3 weeks.

Now Merlin escaped tonight - because I need more trauma - and came back limping. Great!

Me too - I'm glad you posted right away that you got him back.

If you get time, let us know if you can figure out why he's limping.

Nice day today. Scarlet and I went to the park and out for lunch. She is doing well in school which is great!!

Yummy Aldis has some great pork rinds.

I've been eating a Quest Bar for breakfast. Hopefully this will get me back on track!!!

I hate this! DH made spaghetti for lunch, I didn't eat just the meat of course. Then that set off carb hunger/splurge. I think when this happen I would just be safer to eat a piece of fruit and get back on plan. Even though it was whole wheat spaghetti....carby flour make me just want more .... it disappears too quickly. At least fruit would have some fluid and fiber to fill me up. Perhaps I just need to plan on having something like blueberries here on hand...I have tried freezing them in the past and put them just em in a shake...has anyone eaten them out of the freezer?

I wonder if he figured if he came back limping that he wouldn't get in trouble for "escaping!"

DH made spaghetti for lunch, set me up to just want more simple carbs all afternoon. Dang!! Even though it was whole wheat pasta it triggered my hunger for off limit stuff that found their way into my hands - ugh! I should keep some fruit available...like blueberries, instead. That way I get carbs but it has water in it and fiber and sweet but won't necessarily start a carb fest!

Quick check in
Glad Merlin campe home and admire his tricky temporary limp

I also used to have very dark hair, went lighter as the years passed and the gray came. I have 2 kids who are blonde and 2 brown so both worked

Yes Cindy, our group is aging and seeing those signs!

There were tornados spotted in that fad storm of the other night but no serious damage to touchdowns. Extreme weather all over the world these days

I have slipped on my eating lower carb the last several days, why is it so easy to just grab the carny processed food instead of cooking?...will try to do better!

80% chance of rain tomorrow

Hi gals

Pasta is of the devil. You could always make zoodles out of zucchini or use spaghetti squash instead. For me, it is a slippery slope when I eat carbs and always a weight gain.

Oh hoping that Phil has a comfortable ride home today. I am sure everyone will glad to have him home. It will be interesting to see how Merlin reacts. I am betting that he stays by his dad a lot. Dogs are very sensitive to people who are recovering.

Yes, Buffy, it is that time again. Bad weather for us MidWesterners.

Dd and her dh went to Crystal Bridges, that amazing art museum in Bentonville, Arkansas that Alice Walton created. She saw Alice there giving a tour to some "fancy" peeps. We need to get over there.

Time for a shower. I think I lost 2 ounces. Weigh-in is a week away from tomorrow!!! Boot camp here I come.
