ACK! Sandy's right!
I got the Norpro not the pasta pronto.
Now I have to go look up the pasta pronto...

The only pasta pronto I can find is one you pour hot water into a big tube to cook the pasta? That can't be right.

Water is the best thing to have at a movie!! Popcorn is a real treat. You just need something to wet your whistle. Good for you, Carolyn, for not getting the $4 drink.

Hi gals.

My new little cheap pasta machine is a large tube, like those spritz cookies. Will try to make it soon.

Good morning...Is this a pasta day? I will decide after I have popcorn at the movies with Scarlet..

Wits and Wagers was the name of the game. It is a simple game, but hard to get the right answer..We won.. LOL.

Brett made it home last night..I'm sure he was exhausted and hopefully can catch up
on his sleep this weekend.

Time for a shower..Just had another wonderful bagel..I got the Pumpkin ones from the Great Low Carb Bread Company..Not as good as the others..Of course I still ate them..LOL..

Hope it is warmer today..

Okay...I used my new Pasta Pronto for pasta just a minute ago. It works great and gave
my wrist quite the workout, but the pasta looked good. It was probably like Sandy's thick pasta, but then I switched to the spaghetti end and it worked great...

I greased the inside with Pam..No sticking!!!

YAY!! So glad that worked!!
Never having made pasta before this, I thought this was super easy.
And something I'd do frequently if I wanted. I can see making lasagna strips and freezing them, for sure. Which of course, my pasta dealie doesn't do. HA HA!

Don't blame it on the meat.....try the aspirin, Cold remedies, Alka Seltzer, etc that is fed to us on an almost daily level. If we think sniffle or uncomfortable, the pills are promoted and we take them. I am even guilty of that..... But much more impact on our systems than low grade antibiotics fed and filtered thru animals. Less impact from that than the preservatives put into everything that sits in a meat counter...

(We raise livestock and dairy farmed for years)

Whew, I think a week flew by since I was on here!
Best thoughts going out to Phil and you too MK. My sister was visiting me when she started losing hair, in about 2 days it was mostly gone.
Cindy, bless you and DBF for mission trips!
What a pasta making journey you all have been on ......
Dd#3 had a very close call, saved by carbon monoxide detector. If you don't have them, run to get them! Dinner time, the detector went off, fire dept came and shut gas off, made them get out. Said the would have died in their sleep that night! I am still shook up over this!
Been to Austin to see Ollie and his Daddy, Mommy. Then back to Dallas where I am spending night with Bobby and Ava. Had Grant most of last week after carbon m scare. Mema is tired.
Hugs all around

Good morning..

Hmm..does anyone have any gastric distress from the pasta? It is very fibrous..very..
but good.

We watched Catch Me If You Can last night..DVD on Netflix..It is a great movie, interesting story and a true story..

Oh..DA tonight and Sherlock

Dh called ds and he told us about his adventures in Europe..I think he had a really good time and learned alot (I hope).. The French meal started at 8 and ended at 12. How do these peeps stay so thin?

Have a great day..Gotta hop in the shower and figure out what to wear to church.

Buffy, thank God your family is ok. How scary!! We have a CO2 alarm and I'm so glad. Our furnace just had to be replaced and it's heat exchangers were cracked but it had never set off the alarm, but I'm still glad we have it. I think they should be required! Our repairman said he thought the cracks were new and still pretty small and not dangerous at that point but the furnace needed to be repaired or changed immediately. One thing he told us is that a lot of people buy those Filtrete super heavy duty furnace filters that block all the dust and pollen, etc and that they don't allow enough air flow through the furnace and it gets too hot inside and cracks the exchangers. Well, guess who always thought we had to have those very filters???? My DH!! You live and learn I guess. Expensive lesson though.

I've had no issues with the pasta. It's so filling I can't eat a whole lot, but what I've eaten-no issues.
I am struggling with my weight though!!! Ever since our Sept vacation. I just can't seem to get it back down. True, I haven't been real good at trying very hard but even when I am trying it barely seems to budge. This morning I was up 8# from this day last year!!! Yikes!! After vacation I'm really getting back to my strict good eating and work on getting this all off and back down into my comfort window.

Oh Buffy, so scary!! I'm so thankful they had carbon monoxide detectors!!

We had a couple of them, but when we got our new furnace last year, they said it was "code" to put them in, also, so we have another one or two, and I'll take all I can get. It's definitely a silent killer.

Interesting to hear from the heater people those expensive filters are the ones making furnaces fail faster. I think we thought we "had" to have them for about ten minutes, then after they got used, we went back to cheaper. Not the cheap-EST, but much cheaper. Ours are accordion-looking, but do not claim any health benefits.

DA tonight, yes! This version of Sherlock has escaped me, but I sort of heard the premise and I thought it very interesting. That he was a psychopath, but his father or his step father was a Scotland Yard guy? And recognized the psychopathic tendencies and knew he could not keep him from killing, but taught him to only kill the bad guys? Am I just making stuff up? If so, I'm going to write a book. LOL

Sandy I know when you really try you'll drop that weight and I'll be jealous, but we both know I'M not going to try! I'm happy a little fluffy, I guess.

Our favorite neighbors across the street got in the middle of a high-speed police chase (unknowingly). The stolen car took the front of their car off and two police cars went whizzing by them, so they realized where they were in these events. I think I need to make them some taco soup or something carby I wouldn't eat, LOL. Daughter home from college for the weekend was the car that got smashed. They all seemed stunned.
The driver of the stolen car was 13.

MK I wish I was making you taco soup!

Hugs to all of you, and also the lurkers!

Hi gals..

Oh, Sandy, you can do it!!!

Thanks for a reminder about those filters..I read about that, too..I don't think mine are the heavy duty ones, but I get them at the furnace place, but probably can order them on Amazon..LOL.

Yikes, Judy..How scary for your neighbors..but lucky no one was hurt!!

That pasta is filling..Maybe I eat too much of it. I would like it a bit "tougher", so I might add more gluc powder than the recipe calls for, like a Tbs.

Hugs all around..

Yes, tougher.

If you try it with extra gluc please let me know how it does. You are so good to try things quickly and report.

DD & DGS still here. He ate his first solid food today (he's 4 months now).
AVOCADO!!
So proud of DD!!
I hear DDIL is not going to give cereals, either, but I'm probably jinxing it so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Can't believe how well he did. By the 2nd spoonful he was like a little bird with his mouth open. He really seemed to like it!

In other news, I made another cheesecake - the super duper easy kind with lemon jello pudding & 1 cup Hood milk & 1/2 cup sour cream and a little vanilla (I add a little more sweetener, too). I made a nut crust with graham cracker flavoring.
That might be my "breakfast on the go" for a few days! Well, as long as it lasts.

Oh no - here comes the next cold blast!

Yes, that cheesecake is spectacular.

I had some leftover spaghetti noodles. DH has made a giant stew. I heated up my bowl, put in a little sour cream and the uncooked noodles. They were al dente and held up through the entire eating of the stew. Maybe that's what we should do. Barely cook or just let the hot sauces they're going to be with do the cooking. That makes them more convenient than dry pasta!

Hmm..I was thinking the same thing, Judy..Or just microwaving them dry in a bowl to "heat and cook a tiny bit" without adding water. Gluc is like a sponge and I do think it soaks up more water when we boil it..??? Great minds think alike..

Brrr..here, too..I am so happy that I bought a very long down coat from LL Beans several years back..It is bright pink...LOL.

I just microwaved my uncooked left over spaghetti for about. 45 secs. It was al dente the way I like it !!! Hopefully the egg will get cooked while heating the pasta.

OK - that makes sense to cook those noodles in the microwave.
It might even toughen them up!

Good morning,

Still a bit chilly, but I think our northern friends are getting it much worse.

Exercise today..I feel badly when I miss, but if I don't do it first thing in the a.m., it
doesn't get done most of the time..

Up a pound today..144, so will get back down. I always "know" what happened when
I gain..No big surprise.

Check in later..

I'm doing a little work on a report before I head back over to Stillwater.
I agree - much worse cold for those north of us. I'll keep my grumbling to a minimum (how uncharacteristic of me!).

Hope your days are good and Carolyn, congrats on your workout ethic!

No Judy, I haven't tried it yet. I might make a little batch today just to see how it does. I could leave them for DH to eat for dinner as I'll be going to dinner theater, which he bowed out of this time. If I find the time. But I am very anxious to try my new toy.

Morning!
Very busy weekend with grandkids, now back home and feel like I am getting a cold . I need an immune system transplant it might be allergy to red mountain cedar that is really bad in Austin. Have call into dr. Today.

Judy, avocado was Ollie's first food too.

Very chilly here and ice further south in TX. What a winter.

Stay warm my friends!

I go to tinypic and then upload my picture from my puter then copy the link and paste it here. Does that help??

Oh made some linguine tonight while listening to the KSU game. It was quick. So we are having pasta/sauce and meatballs tomorrow night. I am wondering if I get the sauce hot on the stove then put the uncooked pasta in the saucepan and heat for a
Little bit with the sauce. Thoughts ???
