Hi ladies..

Sorry I was missing in action..Was in Wichita from Friday night til today..Got the stomach flu there (from Gary), so I got to stay another day and sleep..Pretty much better today.

Oh, Mary Kay..We will be praying through every step with Phil. So glad that they found it in time so they can treat it, even aggressively. Hugs..It will be wonderful to see the kids.

Judy: Those babies looks like twins! How darling, how darling..

Love that moose and baby picture. In NH we had a moose come through our yard one time..It was exciting..

MK: Do you have a Rotisserie? It makes a great turkey breast..

Let me show you Sterling in his hat.

He is the son of Beth's neighbor..sorry about him being sideways..

OMG Judy, those babies are adorable!!! What a great idea to wrap up pictures of the gifts. Nothing wrong with that!!

And Carolyn, what a cute baby and a super cute hat too! Sorry you got sick. We've been blessed to escape it all so far. I hope our streak continues. Our youngest DGD is getting over influenza A and my son thinks he's coming down with it. So Christmas may be minus a few family members this year on Christmas day. We'll have to scramble and celebrate at different times if needed.

DH stopped tonight to pick up the prime rib and he texted me "wow, you won't believe this line!!!!" Hahaha. I told him to send me a pic, and it really wasn't all that bad. I can't wait until Christmas dinner to try it. My fav!!

Buffy, dinner and a drink sounds pretty good right now. I think I'll follow your lead.

I will toast you girls as I wrap imaginary presents!

Ugh I forgot to give my condolences to you, Carolyn, on getting that stomach virus. EVERYONE is getting it. Our choir party was canceled last night - one of the hosts had already had it and her husband was just coming down with it.

I am pretty sure I'll get it now. He has a fabulous fabulous fabulous well-trained voice and sang the Lord's Prayer this morning where the rest of the choir also sang at a dear member's funeral. *sigh* My goose is cooked. Oh well, I could stand to lose a couple of pounds.

Here's to feeling better, and enjoying our families! *clink*

Clink with my diet ginger ale.

My sisterinlaw figured it was a 48 incubation period on the stomach bug. Saltines/diet ginger ale/sprite/canned chicken soup are my standbys for this. hope you all avoid it.

We r having Prime Rib, too I think I will do mine on the Ron Rotisserie. Chat ski does hers all the time that way. What way are you planning on cooking?

Yes, everyone enjoy their families!!!

We'll roast it in a hot oven to sear and then turn it down to finish. I can't wait!!!

My son did get some Tamiflu so I hope it kicks in fast. I think DGD is feeling better; she thinks she'll be fine on Christmas but I'm not sure about DS.

I made my Southern Pimiento Cheese yesterday so it'll be all seasoned up good for this evening. That stuff is addictive!! But at least it's low carb, lol.

I've really enjoyed the low carb crackers I started buying. Fiber Gourmet brand. Our local HyVee has them and also Netrition. Netrition has more flavors and bigger boxes, which I like.

I want to wish every one of you a blessed and merry Christmas.

I've done that Sandy and it is good..There is one that says to start it at 500 for a certain time, then shut the oven off..Mine turns out too rare when I do it that way..Not good..

Oh..hoping your son feels better. Hmmm..have to check out those crackers.

Well, I was 143 this morning..Who knows what I was before I started this episode..Maybe down 2 pounds.

Been bad on the LC train..but have had no fat, so the carbs aren't as bad, plus the calories are lower, for sure.

So, Mary Kay is everyone home??? I'm sure you appreciate all the kids being around you and hopefully they will lend you support and love. But, I know you have lots of
good friends here and in your community that will come around you both..

Judy, how are you today?

Today is wrapping day..Ds will be in this morning and he is going to put on as Santa's
helper/wrapper. I will put a Netflix movie or mystery on and wrap away..Just
LOVED Bleak House..loved it..

Yes, I agree with Sandy, praying for all of you that you will have a wonderful
Christmas..

DS doesnt' have stomach flu; it's the respiratory, body ache type flu. He's been working overtime so much lately he probably got run down, plus not getting the flu shot this year. I sure hope it doesn't last long.

We all love rare beef so that's never a problem for us!!!

Wrapping-the most dreaded part of Christmas for me. Hate it and always have!

I have managed to (so far) avoid the stomach flu.
But if it's a 48-hour incubation, I should be right on target for tomorrow!
I feel absolutely fine and I'm taking zinc, so what could happen, right?
Right?

Finishing up the ding dang wrapping, then we have Christmas Eve service with my mom and SS, then DH and I will go crash some dear friends' Christmas Eve dinner, as we've done for years. No kidding - we were always uninvited, but our service ended so early we always found our way to their house. The wife's parents come every Christmas from several states away, and they really enjoy DH, so now we're actually invited!
Christmas miracle.

DH will do our bone-in prime rib on the Hasty Bake. Absolutely delicious. Kids & babies will come over tomorrow early before dinner and we'll graze. DDIL is now dairy free because it makes baby Piper gassy, so she is very militantly avoiding any milk product, even butter (gasp!). So she can enjoy the prime rib, I'll steam fresh green beans and only dress with bacon grease & some crumbled bacon, and I'm considering mashing her own separate potato and using chicken broth & almond milk to season? Obviously no cream cheese, sour cream, butter - all my usual add-ins.

MK I think you might be dairy-free - let me know if you have any ideas! OH!!!!!!!!! Your super duper easy and delicious peanut butter cookies! I am doing that for sure!

I'm going to make Carolyn's (All Day I Dream About Food) gingerbread men. They are also dairy-free. I have no idea what kind of dessert to have after prime rib for everyone else.... seems.... too much.... Cookies should be sufficient, right?

Carolyn it'll be fun having DS since he's moved. When do DD & DSIL arrive?

Love to all of you, my friends, and a very Merry Christmas to all!

Hi gang..

Mostly wrapped, now ds is wrapping so I have to go downstairs so I won't see any presents..LOL..

I think my brotherinlaw/sisterinlaw have passed the 48 hour incubation period, if that is true..Also, ds..so that makes me glad. Still on chicken soup/crackers..Don't even feel like coffee..

Thanks, Debby, for the beautiful picture. Keeping warm up there? You can see Santa first..

Sad about baby Piper being gassy with the dairy.. Hopefully, she will outgrow it when she gets older..

Dh and I were discussing which is the worse..tummy or respiratory flu..Both not good.
Hope your ds is better soon and that Tamiflu kicks in and no one else gets it.

oh...Judy..holding my breath for you tomorrow..

We have 2 church services so we can go at 6 or 8..Haven't decided yet since dinner
is flexible and ds might see The Hobbit with his buddy..

Crunch time.

Wrapping, admitted to SS I had zero gifts for her adult kids.
The gifts I ordered for my kids have thoughtfully decided to arrive 12/28.

So wrapping the gifts I DO have, and will actually wrap pictures of the gifts that will arrive later.

Then planning a Christmas day dinner with both kids & babies.
DDIL says she is not taking in any dairy. Says the breastfed baby gets too gassy and uncomfortable when she does. She is a good mom. Wouldn't be surprised if the babies are lactose intolerant - they are, after all, part Native American.

I can't resist - here are our babies, Piper and Maddox from Thanksgiving.
About time! I didn't know if we were ever going to see those darling babies! Adorable

Just got home from a very full day at DD's house. Started off early watching the babies open their gifts. They'd get so intrigued with one they wouldn't want to open any others, lol. Then we had breakfast and enjoyed watching the little ones play with all their goodies. My DS was still sick so we missed him being with us this year, but his DW and kids came. We had some very delicious prime rib, 3 cheese mac & cheese, steamed asparagus and crescent rolls. With pecan pie, some kind of peach cobbler cake dessert and pumpkin crunch dessert. Shoot me now, before I explode!!!

I like both those flavors of the Fiber Gourmet crackers and DH loves the cheese crackers too. Give them a try, I don't think you'll be sorry.

I'm really going to try to concentrate on getting back to my regular eating habits starting tomorrow. I've been playing fast and loose for too long and I'm paying for it with too many pounds gained this month. It's so much harder to take off than it is to put it on!

Hi!
Great day with all the kids including DD29"s BF and his son!

Hope everyone is feeling well and had an amazing day!

Judy - there are many dairy free options for sour cream, cheese, butter, etc.
Check out the health food section at the grocery store - Tofutti is a good brand, earth balance for butter, and daiya for cheese.

Let me know if you need more details and be careful of dairy in weird places like bread.

Good morning..

Yes, MKay is our dairy-free expert. Glad your Christmas was great..

We had a nice day, too..Just 3 of us and the cat, but it was nice. Ds bought me a
new router so I could get Wi-Fi in the upstairs bathroom and he fixed it up, too.
There were places in the house we couldn't get Wi-Fi..So sad..

KC kids are coming Friday night. I think I need to get some $$ for Shawn as I think Dd is overbalanced on things. Shawn loves $$ to buy what he wants, so it is a win-win thing..

Still puny..Was supposed take Scarlet out for lunch and shopping..I will call her and make it Monday as I haven't left the house yet and don't really feel like it..
Sandy: You had this "thing" earlier didn't you? Puny for a week, maybe?

Hope everyone is enjoying some downtime from yesterday..We have leftovers, which is great!

Yep Carolyn, I had it and it lingered about a week after the worst part at the beginning. Hopefully you'll be feeling all better by the time the kids come.

Wi-fi in the bathroom????
