Hi gals, so uplifting to get on hear and read everyone's posts. Lots of good news to share, makes me so happy to be a part of this group.
Love the traditions of having a candy making day with friends or family, makes a fun day. When my 2 sisters and I lived close, we used to do that.
I really can't believe how my toffee business has boomed this year, except for posting on FB, I haven't even been out trying to sell it and I am barely able to keep up with the orders coming in, makes me happy.
Debbie, wonderful news on your mother.
MK, seems your house is filling with family which we know makes you so happy.
Judy, you have lots of cookie and pancakes ahead of you.
Carolyn, is the bear hat knitted? Yes, pic please
Sharon, very common to fight the blues during winter months and also holiday time. The toffee business keeps my mind off getting sad about how quickly the happy years when my kids were little flew by. Just realize you are not alone in that feeling.
Well, better get organized for tomorrow.
Hugs all around!

Its just amazing, what can be done these days. So happy the Lord directed you Debbie.
Sharon I feel ya... it is a time one can feel very lonesome. Good reminder to pray. I know I need it. Too much pressure.
Buffy its amazing all the candy you make. Wonderful that you have the energy to do it!
I had a very busy day today... work, shopping, meeting, exercise. So good to have a good dinner & just relax! Won't have much of that this week, every evening coming up is booked... then DD & her family coming for 1-2 wks. Did I say that I'm not ready???

LOL..It is sideways, but you get the picture..

Going to my hormone/thyroid doctor this morning..I think my meds are okay..

Our compressor went out on our "heat pump" Luckily, it is still under warranty as we only got it 7 years ago..Frankly, I never liked Mr. Heat Pump for the winter time..The heat is too cold..Luckily, we
have emergency heat, which costs a bunch, but we aren't freezing. Anyone have a heat pump???

Hugs all around..

Cute hat!! Bummer about the heat pump. We just have an old fashioned furnace.

I got all the gifts wrapped yesterday. My least favorite part of the season.

Off to lunch with friends today.

Have a great day everybody!

WOW that is a cute cute hat, Carolyn!

Several of you make me realize if I'd spend only a little more time organizing, I could have a happier holiday season. I spend most of it in overwhelm, feeling like I'm spinning plates on the Ed Sullivan show, running from one event to the next, then in the lulls wondering why I haven't completed certain tasks.... Merry Christmas everyone, from Mrs. Bright & Shiny!

My mom fell a couple of days ago while SS was still in Hawaii. We confessed our sins on Sunday to SS and since it still hurts my mom around her back rib area, we're going to call a doc. And now you know why I am behind on everything! LOL

My mom's pain is lessened to eliminated by Tylenol so I sort of wanted to wait awhile to check. But my mom has a friend who fractured a hip and didn't know it for days and days. Not sure what the treatment would be, but I guess we'll find out. *sigh* She has no trouble breathing deeply and can walk just fine. She fell on her back on the carpet (decorating her Christmas tree... ). All this in the 4 hours I left her alone Saturday afternoon.

That's what I am hoping.

...and praying....

She has been doing so very well. I handed her her list of meds and when and how much to take and she's been doing it all herself (under my watchful eye) for more than a week. She checks off when she's taken what. I've had to prompt a few times, but only a few.

I've asked her to get and heat her own food for meals (seems rude, but... it is necessary). She has no trouble, as long as there is food for her to eat, she will get it and heat it, or peel the clementine, or whatever. Her portion size is unrealistically small in my view, but that's why we have her drinking protein shakes twice/day.

So this would be a setback, but... these things happen.

Hi everyone..

Good doctor's report..My cholesterol was 170! Holy smokes..Thanks to LC and probably losing those 10 pounds this year..

Oh..Judy, it is hard because older peeps fall alot.. Good for her checking off what she takes..I need to do that, too. Gary checks off his eye drops..I hope she doesn't have anything broken, but bruising hurts a lot, too..

I haven't wrapped anything..Need to do that. Now that I have my big old one-eyed elf working for me, it should be easy..LOL..

Well, the heat pump is covered by the warranty..All we have to do is pay for labor..LOL..

Hi everyone
Think we are all busy bees!
I have always hated wrapping gifts and would put it off until the last moment, love gift bags
Debbie, you schedule sounds very busy, we don't plan much at night anymore. I do have dinner club on Thurs. night.
Well gals, I made 30 lbs of toffee today, I think that might be my record. Had 2 10 lb orders come in on top of my other orders for this week.
Cute hat Carolyn and sorry about your heat pump. I have always heard it is a cool heat.
DD asked me to bring potatoes and chocolate pie for Christmas, easy enough.
Judy, being organized makes everything go so much better but I am only organized when I am not busy
Well gals, we are in the final week, almost another year has flown by

It is amazing how these years just click right on by!

I love gift bags too but they don't work for everything.

Wow Carolyn, that's great!!!

Buffy, 30 pounds of toffee????? Wowser!!!

I'm very organized. I'm great at making lists of what needs to be done. Not so great at actually doing what's on the list until I have to, lol.

Watching Bleak House on Netflix. It is good.

Sandy, good luck on your dad's prep today.

Alex will be by himself until Friday. I have 3 automated feeders so he doesn't miss a meal. I freeze his FF so it stays fresh. He does fine.

Be safe Carolyn and I hope you find great shopping deals in Owasso.

Tomorrow is when Dad will start his prep for his procedure on Friday morning. I pray that they don't find anything.

I would use my phone more if I didn't hate SO MUCH typing on my phone...
Gotta say - not sure I've lost a list. I have misplaced lists, but they always re-appear.
Sometimes, however, not in a timely manner.

Don't you have a recording option on your phone? That's what I use a lot of the time so I don't have to type so much.
If I don't use my phone I do tend to lose my lists and remake them with more stuff added, lol.

Yes.
Yes I do.

I just love paper.

But it would make more sense to keep it on my phone.

Confession: I tend to use paper lists more than phone lists. I like the act of scratching off the completed item.

Though one of my phone apps does that too, lol.

Today's topic: lists
I am really big on lists and waste tons of paper because I like neat lists and am always re-writing new lists when the first one looks messy. And, I always have to use a new, clean sheet of paper, and on a 5x7 yellow legal pad AND I don't get what my kids mean when they say my OCD is getting worse BUT if I step on anything with my foot, I have to step on the samr thing with the other foot. Whew!
Sandy, keep us updated on DD.
Enjoy your last few days of prep and shopping, I haven't been able to catch my breath all week but really think it will slow down soon.
70 here today, think it will be very nice through Christmas

Hi ladies

Had a nice dinner with Brett last night. Job is good. Apartment is good. We are happy for him.

Thinking of MK's dh today as he goes to the doctor. Hope he gets some good news as far as the treatment goes.

I brought a LC bagel with me for breakfast. Fairfield has eggs/sausage so it is easy to be good if you want to be. Lol

Dh's eye surgery is at. 9 so we have to get up and eat early.

Thinking of Sandy's dad, too. Hope all goes well with him.

Check in later.

Ohhh, sorry Gary is having pain from his surgery. I was under the impression that cataract surgery wasn't supposed to be painful? I hope it's very short lived.

I wish MK would pop in and give us an update on her DH.

I got a massage this morning and visited my chiro right after. I hadn't been since July!!! I really needed it too.

Hi

Well, they numb your eye and it doesn't hurt but afterwards Gary felt he had a log in his eye. But the Tylenol helped a lot.

Ate dinner at Charlestons so he felt well enough to leave the room.

Yes, anxious to hear from MKay.
