Oh yes I use the dark and white chia seeds. It's good either way so I have even mixed them.

Chocolate Chia Pudding

3/4 cup Chia Seeds
2 Cups unsweetened almond milk or Coconut milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
a pinch of celtic sea salt
Stevia Glycerite or sweetener (to taste)
1/2 teas. vanilla
1/2 teas. nutmeg

In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together. Let the pudding set up for a few minutes. Stir the pudding every 5 minutes. The pudding will be very thin at first, but after sitting for 20 minutes the chia seeds will thicken up and it resembles tapioca pudding
Makes 4 - 1 cup servings

Funny you mention a cute movie - we used to really enjoy going to movies.
We barely find any we like anymore - we're too picky, maybe.

I was wondering if there would be a cartoon movie she'd like. Some of them are so funny and smart - and at least you leave smiling.
Will look around here for that movie. I think I've heard ok things about the turkey cartoon movie.

Carolyn and other friends - stay warm! Good luck at your game!

We don't mind the chia seeds either, but my DD asked "what is the green stuff?" I guess the pumpkin mixed with black turned it into a greenish cast. Lol.

Stay warm Carolyn. I would have to pass on an outside game today.

We went to our first Allen Fieldhouse KU game last night! Free tickets with parking pass. It was great! But the bleachers were killers for us two oldies with bad backs. We walked around and peeked in the doors for the last part of the game. We really enjoyed going and were very thankful for the free tickets too!

Judy, we used to go to the movies at least once a week. Now, like you, it's hard to find something that looks that appealing and it comes out on DVD so quickly these days that we usually just wait. Plus, that saves me from getting so mad because of all the talking that everybody does during the movie. That is my biggest pet peeve!!!!!

Thanks Sharon! I've saved all of them and they are on my "TO BAKE" list now.

Hi!
Yes, I'm still alive!

Rome was fabulous as you can tell from the FB pics.
I controlled my IBS by eating very little for breakfast, no lunch and a very light dinner.
That, plus all the walking means I lost 2 lbs while we were there!
DS21 is doing great and speaking Italian pretty well.

DH got what we thought was a kidney stone on our way home from Chicago.
He had surgery on his ear on Monday and I insisted on a CT scan.
I think they finally gave him one to shut me up.

It's not a kidney stone, it's a thickening on the side of his bladder.
Tumor? Cancer? don't know yet - and can't get a doc appt until Wed.
We're still planning on going to KC for Thanksgiving ~ DD29 and her BF are going too.

DD27 has quit her job in Aspen and will move home and then to Chicago in January - she wants to be an actress and will start auditioning for parts and trying to find a job to live on until then.

DS24 will ask Emily's dad for permission to marry her over Thanksgiving. Emily won't be there, she's staying in NOLA because she'll go home for Christmas.

I've been exercising a lot - and eating when I'm hungry. I'm down to 108 this morning. Weird!

I went to a Prep Freeze Cook party last week too - she has a FB page and I have 10 dinners ready to go in the freezer! Score!

Besides that, I'm still trying to do laundry, unpack, find the kitchen table . . . . while I am having a hair appt, pedi, massage and trying to do some shopping.

And dealing with DH and keeping my sanity.

It's been a long week.

Love you all and I'll try to be a better poster.

I have no idea what's going on with everyone, I'll try to catch up!!

Hi gals

COLD. KSU lost but it was a pretty good game. Poor KU is playing at 22 degrees. Brrrrr

Oh MK sending up prayers for Phil. He doesn't drink soda much does he ?? One lady at church was having horrible bladder issues. They did a scan and the inside was all irritated and raw. She stopped drinking pop and it cleared up in a few weeks. Hopefully Phil's problem is simple and nothing to do with cancer.

You have so much news. Lots of changes for everyone. Excitement for your ds and dd.

Hugs all around. We are halfway home.

I've lost 6 lbs so far this month - hope I can hold onto it through Thanksgiving!

Hi

Who goes to Rome and loses weight??? That is amazing. Lots of walking helped but do you have your appetite back??? Hope and pray the doctor can answer all your questions. My friend was drinking 2 cans a day instead of her normal water amount.

I am afraid to weigh myself. Lol.

Hi gals
Loved reading all your news, and there are lots of good things going on. Changes and moves at MKs but she is getting so teeny tiny I can barely see her, even with my super duper lens!
Note to Carolyn, both DH and I opted to pay for the super duper lens when we had cataract surgeries. Sooo worth it! DH still needs readers but I don't even need those, except in my office while at the computer. Something about the exact distance of my monitor or something. That's the only time. Marry Christmas Gary! And, excited for Brett on his new job and move.
Busy with toffee and since I don't have quite all my energy back, that is taking up a lot of time.
I love movies but like most of you, it seems harder to find good ones and it is easy yo just watch from home.
We may get some icy areas tonight or tomorrow, west tx really has it.
Guess we are going to step daughters house for thanksgiving, she sent DH a text yesterday inviting us. They have such an odd relationship? All seems normal when we are together but it doesn't feel normal to me. Not bad but not good and DHs ex will be there which is ok but hmmmm, oh well.
Saw a new PA this week when I went for my normal checkup, he was very thorough and I liked him, tall, very lean. When we got to cholesterol he started in on how it can be lowered by eating low fat. I said "then why is it that people who eat low carb and a high intake of animal fat, no sugar, seem to have very good blood work results?" He looked at me like I had grown 3 heads. I told him I felt like sugar was the culprit.

Mary Kay, that was such a good report and such great news re: your weight and trip and kiddos... what can I say? Congratulations!

Well and we'll hope for the very best regarding your DH's upcoming diagnosis - hope you can put it in the back of your mind until the real diagnosis.

Carolyn my gosh I bet your were cold. Sorry KSU lost.

OSU beat Baylor so decisively. I am hoarse from whooping and hollering.
It would have been fun to be there, but that temperature... I'm a wimp.

Buffy I hope that PA listened to you and will do a little bit of work to see what you're talking about. Such an uphill battle getting that word out. You are a good speaker.

Hugs to all.
I'm wearing my biggest orange-est OSU T-shirt.

Hi everyone..

Judy: Are you going to the OSU/OU game next week? Handwarmers are the key to
at least not freezing up too badly. We saw soooo many people without much on..No hats/no mittens/no boots..Not good..

Thanks, Buffy, for the input on the magic eyes....I think Gary will be very happy not to wear the glasses he has been wearing for the last 40 plus years..I will be, too, when my cataracts are ready..LOLOL..

Taking Alex to the vets tomorrow..I hate to, but he has had a cyst that is looking funky.
If it means surgery, then with his kidney problems, I will ask for a gentle anesthetic (for me). Dh will go with me, so that is always good..

Got my jammies on at 5 o'clock..LOL..

I do think I will be wearing lots of purple next Saturday..Poor KU..They were beat in
3 degree weather by Iowa...No points for them. They should have stayed warm in the locker room and drank hot chocolate instead of freezing to death for a goose egg.

OSU doesn't play OU until the 7th of December and no, I won't be going.
Did I tell you my SS went to KU? She had a big back surgery the winter before her last semester and did not graduate there, but all her college years and memories were at KU. Beautiful campus.

I am sorry for Alex and I do hope you'll have the benefit of a gentle anesthetic! Give us any news as soon as you can, please.

I bought a carton of the Hood chocolate milk for hot chocolate. It is delicious. I haven't opened it yet but I will tomorrow or so. I think milk doesn't make my stomach feel so great, but I'll chance it for these temperatures.

I think Debby's dear MIL passed.

Hi

Oh, dear on Debby's mother in law passing. Prayers for the family.

My dd went to KU too. I love that campus, too. The town is super. Gosh too bad about your dds back surgery. My dd was there starting in 2000.

Alex is good spirits this am and are his breakfast. He and I hate going to the vets. He never wants to get out of his carrier. All the dogs there are wagging their tails and sitting nicely.

I need to make those chocolate muffins today.

I'm so jealous Judy! We don't have Hood milk anywhere in our area anymore and I really miss it.

Carolyn, when you make the chocolate muffins don't leave them sitting out. Sherrielee recommends letting them sit out at room temp, but yesterday mine started molding. Ugh. I think she said hers never were around more than 5 days and today is a week since I made mine and we hadn't eaten them all. So I'd refrigerate at least the ones you think might be around more than 4-5 days. They are very tasty at room temp.

It's pretty obvious that football is just not KU's forte, lol. But we love the campus and the town and of course BASKETBALL!!!!!

I'm very tired this morning and feeling lazy but need to do some running around for DD and get one more Christmas gift. Then I think I'm done except for wrapping, which to me is the worst part. I only get everybody one small gift and then give $$.

Sandy I had two things mold at my mother's house! I figured it was because she kept her house much warmer than mine - now that I think of it, that surely contributed. I hated making those things and not getting them all eaten. I thought I'd noticed the things I baked not molding for MONTHS, but I don't think I leave them out. I think I left them out at my mother's so anyone could see they were available.

I should have added - SS graduated from TU - she was a committed student (unlike her younger sister who had a GREAT time at college! ) I still got my degree, just had a little more fun, I think.

I wish Hood would expand. I worry when I hear you bigger cities don't have it that it might not be doing well business-wise.

I am sorry - has the chocolate muffin recipe been posted? Or can you just tell me the author? Or has it already been posted here and my memory is SO short??

OK - just saw it was Sherrielee's Chocolate Muffins.
I'll search for that. Sorry.

Sharon, I love chia pudding. I may have to make some!

Sorry about Debs MIL. I know she had been ill.

MK, we need to get together when you are in KC sometime!

Went shopping today. Got a nice turkey that I have had luck with from Costco. It is labeled "fresh" but that means barely frozen but it has always been good. I got a 15 pounder for just the 2 of us. We eat nothing but turkey for 4 days then the whole carcase goes in the freezer for turkey and noodles in Jan!

Well the vet took Alex and surgery is in the am. So pray that he makes it through with his kidney issues. Thanks. He will spend Tuesday night and come home Wed. He said it was okay to leave him alone on Tday. I'm sure he will have the cone of shame on.

KU did have a great football team a few years back. But basketball is their thing for sure.

Now Sharon, you know when you come on here talking about how good something is that you must share the recipe. Lemon pie filling!!!! Bring it on!!!

Hi Cindy!! I'm going to try to snag the turkey carcass at DD's house to make broth. I have a couple of rotisserie chicken carcasses and I'll just throw them all together and make a big batch. I love that stuff with cream cheese melted in it for lunch. Yum.

Poor Alex. I do hope he does fine. You'll be lonely without him with you there at home. It's amazing how much we count on our pet's presence in our lives and when they're gone for a day or so, the house just feels so empty. Poor little guy.

Hi all!

Carolyn - How are you? And Alex???

DH goes to get his stitches out from the last surgery (ear cancer) tomorrow and will talk to the doc who is very proactive for him about this other bladder thing - whatever it is.

I'm friends with that doc's wife and found out today I also know the radiologist's wife, so I know they're good docs that will do everything they can for DH!

Debby -

Cindy - I would love to meet you sometime when we're in KC. Family just sucks up so much of my time - though I hope to be at Zona Rosa on Friday.

Judy - thanks for keeping me entertained!!

Buffy - I hope your energy will keep getting stronger and stronger!
And hopefully I've hit my low - 108!

Sandy - you melt cream cheese in the broth?
