Best thing to keep mice out... those electric buzzers... plug 'em in next to the area they try to get in... I used to have problems with the field mice building nests in my car. Have one of those buzzers placed close to the front of the car & no more mouse-nests. Or... get a kitty.
Did you take your DM to your place today?

We had mice one year in the fall..Alex played with a few, just for fun. Then I got D-Con and put it under the sink/stove, etc..No more mice..

I will be interested in hearing what my new doctor has to say in January about paps.

Debby: Your area is beautiful and I'm sure mice love it up there..

OH - by the way Carolyn - I completely agree with you about Candy Crush deciding when you will finally get the perfect alignment of candies to clear a level.

SS and I both noticed that once we clear a difficult level, all of a sudden we clear the next 2 or 3 levels in one try, with 3 stars. Sometimes it is "your" day and sometimes it's not!

I took mother to my SS's house and we ate hamburgers without the buns. Hamburgers are my mom's favorite food. I'll feed her one every day if she can keep her weight up!

Today, cold or not, I am planting pansies! (said in Scarlett O'Hara's voice)

Debby my dad thought those buzzer things worked. Sheesh I'd try anything. And since she does not have any pets and doesn't seem inclined to do that, I think I might set out some D-Con, too.
No mice!
No mice!

Yep,
We live in the middle of a huge hay-field! (well, trees too)... but that's their natural habitat... our mice are field-mice & actually very cute... but I really hate them getting into anything.
Those buzzers work if there isn't one living there, it will detour them from coming in... but I hear if they already have a nest, they won't leave... so at first you may need to use other methods to rid the place of them.
Have a great Sunday!

On Debby, definitely praying for you and all of you.

How far away is DMIL? I'm glad you're going.
Believe me - all those responsibilities just wait and multiply...
But their importance fades.

Bless all of you.

Hi ladies..

Oh, Debby, that is part of the process..Praying for a peaceful passing when the timing
is right for your DMIL.. So sad..

Yup, Judy..I do think CCS is to make us buy extra stuff..But, I will never do it!! LOL..

Tuesday is supposed to get cold for all of us in the Midwest..Don't know about Buffy or our California gals..But, Debby has a headstart on cold up there in the north country.

My friend gave me a recipe for LC protein bars..I don't know if I already had it, but will
post it after I try it.

Today I am going to exercise..really...

Prayers for your MIL and you Debby. Be safe on your journey and try not to worry about what you leave behind. As Judy said, it will be here waiting after she's gone on to eternity.

DH is wanting a "cereal". I told him I'd try to find some recipes. Sharon, I PM'd you about that one you've been eating. I'd like some cold and hot cereal recipes/ideas. Anybody??

It'll take me awhile to get to it, as I'm at my mom's, but I think it's Maria's cereal - it's really a variety of nuts toasted with butter and Swerve (or Splenda and/or erythritol I'm sure would be fine).
It is very very filling and extremely delicious in my opinion. I'll look here at my mom's though because I think she's made that cereal before, too.

Carolyn it's supposed to be 20 degrees by the wee hours of Wednesday morning! Brrrr!
And why aren't the rest of my pansies planted???? They will be today. I usually get them in the ground about 10 minutes before the first hard freeze, poor things.

I am babysitting DGS for about 1-1/2 hours Thursday.
DD has evidently not slowed down her massage and chiropractic appointments! LOL

Carolyn I've never spent a cent on Candy Crush. If I am ever tempted to, I think I'll just put it away for awhile. I'm on different levels right now lower on my phone, and level 123 on my computer - don't know if I'll get past them!

Debby hope you are clear-headed this morning and able to make good decisions. We are all thinking of you and your family.

It's this I've had - I thought it was delicious.
I used Hood for the milk.

"HEALTHIFIED" CEREAL (Maria Emmerich)
1/3 cup erythritol (or Swerve)
1 tsp stevia glycerite (omit if using Swerve)
1/3 cup crushed almonds/pecans/walnuts
1/4 cup almond flour
1/4 cup JAY ROBB vanilla whey protein (or egg white protein)
1/4 cup butter or coconut oil, softened
1 tsp pure organic blueberry extract
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (170 degrees C). Combine 1/3 cup erythritol and stevia glycerite (or Swerve), 1/3 cup crushed nuts, almond flour, whey, blueberry extract and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut in butter with fork or pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Place on a cookie sheet with defined edges or the butter will leak off. Bake for 12-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and gently stir while still hot. Let cool in the cookie tin (it will crisp up A LOT). Break pieces apart and enjoy with unsweetened almond milk. Makes 4 servings.

NUTRITIONAL COMPARISON (per serving)
Post Cereal = 220 calories, 3g fat, 3g protein, 45 carbs, 2g fiber
"Healthified" Cereal = 220 calories, 9.2 g protein, 18g fat, 4g carbs, 2 g fiber

Hi ladies..

Oh, that cereal sounds great..I might skip the blueberry extract and use vanilla as I don't have any..Need to stock up on more nuts, too..

Yes, Debby, safe travels.

Well, signed up for insurance for 2014..My insurance now doesn't pay for cholesterol testing, so will wait until January. I will have my thyroid tested this month as my insurance won't pay for that either this year or the next. Ds signed up for a reasonable plan until he gets a job..Luckily, he is pretty healthy..

I will find another cereal recipe for you, Sandy...Let me look

Thanks!
It was a good day. We both stayed home & got half-packed... did some ordering, sold the snow-machine that I'd had on the bargain shopper... Got a substitute to come do the deposits/data entries for me... although she destroyed her instructions... hope that doesn't cause too much extra work for me.
I'm calming down, the list is getting shorter & breathing easier...
I've been teaching Molly to dance on her back feet... she's getting stronger every day now, does it for me whenever I try to show her off... now I know its 'nothing' to a poodle, but it is pretty cool to see a bigger dog do it... can do a full 160 now. Seems to enjoy the new challenges too.
We saw the feral cat that has moved in with our cat - under the shop... he was hunting the field for mice. So I started calling around, to all the neighbors (some I've never met)... cool to chat with them... we never see our neighbors. Anyway, apparently this cat has been around for a year. So I guess I need to figure out where I can leave some food out for him. Our cat hasn't invited him in yet! (we have a cat-door into the hot-tub room, where he can eat & sleep).

Both the boys were super lovable today and were giving kisses and hugs left and right all day long. It was a very nice day, but wow, they sure have a lot of energy!!

Hi friends,

Gosh - somehow I missed a whole day of postings!

Debby, glad it's all getting handled - or as well as possible right now.

Sandy, give us a review when you can after you've tried the cereals.

I remember last winter Carolyn made a nice hot cereal from flax meal, maybe? I have the recipe but not where I am right now. I liked it, and I do not mostly care too much for flax.... But I liked that hot cereal.

Dumb question - if the feral cat has survived for a year and is catching mice... does it need feeding?? It sounds a little mean to ask... just wondering...
We have a cold morning here and no mice, but I'm about to have to borrow that feral cat, I'm pretty sure....

Good question Judy... you're right... I will just feed it in the coldest part of winter. Everything snows over (3-6 ft)... temps drop to sometimes -30F. So, I'll just supplement, once the snow gets deep.

Hope y'all have a good day... I have so much to do... really shouldn't be on the net..

Thanks for answering - hard to catch mice under 3-6 feet of snow...

OOoooooooh - Would something from that company be good stale, then torn up for my Thanksgiving dressing this year? Last year I made Maria's bread. The kids loved it - we didn't even have any leftovers I don't think - but it was labor intensive.
This year I need a little convenience.
So much so that I might even go to the old Pepperidge Farm.

Buffy this year I would totally order toffee.

Howdy ladies. Seems like I'm more a lurker than a poster here lately. Time to send everybody a wave from the Central Coast. I just finished my pressure cooker chicken and bone broth. Boy is that one ever easy and done in a flash instead of overnite. Now I need to find a good soup recipe to make with it. Maybe chicken noodle made with zucchini noodles. That sounds like a plan for tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about MIL Debby. Safe travels and hugs to Molly.

I've been watching re-runs of Downton Abby along with Paradise. I really like Paradise. It's been really holding my interest.

Let us know which DH chooses on the hot cereal Sandy. I made a pumpkin pudding with chia seeds that tastes just like pumpkin pie. Made with 2 cups coconut milk 1 cup pumpkin puree whipped together than 3/4 cup swerve, 1 teas. each pumpkin pie, spice and cinnamon mixed in. Then I put in 1/2 cup chia seeds and whisked every 5 mins until thick enough to put into bowls and refrigerate. It made 4 servings

See you soon.
