MK I'm glad to hear that it's an easy fix for your Dh. Stuff like that is sure scary.

Happy Thanksgiving Debby! I love this time of year because of that day. It's my favorite too.

Thanks gals,
After being in this country for almost 40 yrs... we're finally switched over to Thanksgiving in October. It isn't quite the same as in the states, not as big, and its always on a Monday... half celebrate on Sunday, the other half on Monday- your choice!? Kind of takes the punch out of the day, I think. (no sports-watchers in our family-PTL).
That's good to hear Cindy. I don't know which ones are which. Hope its in the early stage MaryKay
Enjoying my day off.

They're going to remove it in November - it's not too serious (about the size of a dime) but they'll need to do some cosmetic surgery too.

Happy Thanksgiving Debby!

Enroute out of state in the morning to see my Mom. She returned to irregular, atrial fibrillation rhythm, and her cardiologist today said that at 80 years old and unsuccessful attempts to keep her in regular rhythm that she is just going to have to live with it. Feels fatigued all the time and has to wear her oxygen 24/7. Doc says she nuclear cardiac test from 3 years ago showed she had mild ischemia (lack of blood flow from a coronary artery) and wants to do another one in next 2 wks. I wish they'd do a heartcath, but found out today this cardiologist doesn't do interventions like stents. So mom has been more tired in past 3 years, wearing oxygen, and I think she needed a heartcath back then and stents! Three of her five sisters have had bypass surgery. I feel she needs a heartcath. Please pray as I go down and talk with her and the rest of my family. It has been hard to try to do any kind of eating plan the past 6 wks. I had hoped to get started on after I come back! I do SO support all of you!! Stick with it!

Judy-so happy DGS is nursing....the best! And that your Mom is going #2....pain meds will cause constipation. A treatable problem

Carolyn - Hoping K-State can do well. Don't you just love Bill Snyder?

Also cheering for Mizzou to do great against Georgia! Hope we can hear a game on the drive down to Arkansas (my dad retired from Little Rock AFB; when I left home he was still in CA so I never lived in Arkansas). Pretty state though!

We had a beautiful day here! We drove out to Manhattan to check on some places to rent. I think DH is going to be out there on a job for 18 months so guess who gets to go with him?? Then we stopped back by our oldest granddaughter's place in Topeka and took her and her roommate out for dinner. It really was a great day! Now I'm ready for a nice relaxing evening.

Prayers for all the peeps who are still struggling with illness or recuperation and their caretakers.

Buffy, so happy you're having a good time!! You certainly deserve it.

Carolyn, were we passing each other on the road today? Lol.

My youngest granddaughter's birthday is today. 15 years old! The KC Star just did an interview with her about her amplified pain syndrome. They said they're going to run it probably during the holidays because it's such an uplifting, hopeful story. I don't remember if I told you guys she/her story is featured on Children's Mercy website too. She hopes by sharing her experience it will help others.

Debbie: I sure hope you can find a surgeon that will treat your Mom with the stints. One of our members here just had 3 of them put in... he's 85 & doing so much better. It was risky, but living with the pain was riskier.

Buffy that's so great that you're feeling better!Enjoy your Sis!

Judy hope your Mom & grandson are getting stronger every day!

Sandy, that sounds interesting... will be kind of a disruption to your gym work though, won't it?

Carolyn, Mary Kay, Sharon - hope everyone is having a good week-end!

I can put my membership on hold and there's a 24 hour gym at the place we looked at. Now I just need to find the discipline to go without the accountability of being there with my friends every day. I hope I can do it!

Hi..

Oh, Sandy..Fun in the Little Apple for sure..Great coffee place downtown.. Is your dh building the Research Center? Not as big as KCity, of course, but it will be fun..You will make friends at the gym..

We ate at Jess and Jim's steak house in Martin City yesterday with Beth and Shawn..Great old place..

MK's dh was doing the Kansas thing, too...

Poor KSU tried to beat the Bears..A few mistakes, but they played well..

Hoping that Debby's mom will get the right procedure and feel better..Not fun to be tired all the time..Keep us posted, Debby..praying for you all.

Hugs all around..Hopping in the shower.

Hi Cindy Mom had a successful ablation 8 1/2 years ago to get her out of new onset atrial flutter at the time, and has been on Diltiazem and Pradaxa since then. She was in NSR until about 7 wks ago. During the appt last Friday with her cardiologist (of several years), my sister was with her and said the doc said "You know, it's a win when we get someone to 80 years old, you turned 80 in July, so this is a win." My sister cried, she felt the doc was saying prepare for death. This is a usually very active woman! Mom told me Saturday (when I got there) she was tired of feeling lack of energy and loss of her freedom due to feeling so tired out with this atrial fibrillation. I talked with her about the discussion with her cardiologist's nurse, and she said she is very interested in persuing a better outcome, having a heartcath, stents if needed, or coronary bypass graft surgery if that is what is necessary. (Wouldn't it be great to have a surgical MAZE procedure too to stop the a fib?!) Let me tell you how God is faithful...the next AM while visiting my parents church seated right next to me my Mom introduced me to the young woman sitting next to me and said, "she's an RN also." Ends up she works in the cardiovascular intensive care unit! God is so GOOD! She provided us the name of a cardiologist and cardiovascular surgeon in the area for Mom to consider contacting....such an answer to prayer because I don't know the medical population in that state! We'll see where this goes...I'm leaving it up to Mom, Dad, and my sisters down there to arrange contact. I'll show up when told....but it's a 7 to 8 hour drive.

Sorry for the rambling. But thank YOU all for caring and praying!!
