Thanks all for good wishes! Yes, Debbie, it is our first. And I'm actually the step mother, but we have had "our" kids and "our" family - I'm introduced as mom as often as not.

Must.
Have.
Nap...
Dear Mother is having so much nausea these last couple of days... So hoping she'll soon turn the big corner.
Happy Anniversary Mary Kay! What a happy wedding photo!
Still all in the fam! And you are grandma!! Praying your Mom is feeling better soon. Are they considering starting TPN (nutrition per IV?)

Yes - she's had a feeding tube since surgery two weeks ago. Not IV. She also has a G tube - gastric tube. She has been so nauseated the last 3 days and the G tube is supposed to alleviate that. Haven't found that to be so, though.

I've noticed her blood sugars normalizing, thank goodness, since I think the bag they're feeding her is 18% protein and 52% carbs.
And the protein is soy.
She hasn't had insulin in 4 days so I guess her pancreas is kicking back in. Or what's left of it. Doc orders insulin on bg over 150 - good for him!

They still think they got all the cancer.

Morning all.

Judy, just praying that your Mom is feeling better soon. And, wow, how exciting about baby, I know you just can't wait to get your arms around that bundle. I have always loved rocking babies. Then as soon as they can crawl, they want down to explore. Ollie liked to rock though, we had some good naps together in their rocking chair.

MK, you look like a little china doll in that picture. Very very nice and congratulations to you and Phil.

Feeling a little better yesterday and today. Going to AZ to visit sister on Tuesday so just praying I feel up to it. Once I get there I can take it as easy as necessary at her house although she is a real go getter. Like I used to be I will get there again

Supposed to cool off tonight or tomorrow , it is very warm and humid right now. I am so over warm weather

Judy, how soon is the other grandbaby due? That will be so fun having them close like that. My sister and I had babies 2 months apart, was fun while they were little at least

OK! Prayers work!
Doc found out (he thinks) why mom is so nauseated. He changed a medication from tube to oral and she hated the taste and refused it, or threw up right afterward.

Changed to pill form finally yesterday and voila! She ate half an egg this morning and about 3 Tablespoons of cottage cheese this afternoon and feels SO much better. She is weak, but at least can face the days ahead. The nausea took over everything.

MK my anniversary is today! Gift: mother is being released tomorrow. SS and I think the REAL work will begin now.

Next baby due October 17! Maddox still in NICU. Blood glucose normalized, just getting the sats reliably up and then see whether he can suck and breathe at the same time.
DD is sore today - she had back problems before pregnancy and now has that again plus c-section pain. She's expressing and he's eating it, so she's happy about that, and they've got the pain better controlled.

to all!!

So glad you're feeling better Buffy, that will be great if you can have a comfortable trip to your sisters. Are you driving yourself, or is someone else driving? Long drive?

That's wonderful news about your mom Judy!!!! And Happy Anniversary to you and your DH too. That's a great gift! And hopefully little Maddox will be out of the NICU quickly and right into your loving gramma arms. After he's into his momma and daddy's arms of course, lol.
I'm pretty sure your SS just might be right. It will be wonderful for your mom to get to go home but you and your SS will really be pooped out now! Thank goodness you have each other to lean on and help each other. It's so hard when you're the only one or the one who does the lion's share of what needs to be done.

Buffy, how exciting! Another trip. I sure hope you're feeling up to going as I know how much you enjoy your visits with your sister when you go there. Is it just you and her this time?

Hot today, cool tomorrow and then almost cold Sunday! Everybody will probably come down with colds. Ugh.

Hi ladies!!

Exercise today and a ton of errands, yoga tomorrow and target shooting on Sunday!

I was approved for a Concealed Carry class, so I need to get that scheduled.
Not sure if I'll ever carry, but I might as well get the training.

Thanks! I like it too, surprised me that it turned out so good... they're usually horrible! The girl made me sit up really tall (I always hunch), to fit in the perimeters. Wish my posture was that good! Need to work on that.

Hi ladies..

I miss one day and we have a baby!!! Congratulations to you, Judy..I'm sure Maddox will
be out of NICU shortly..How exciting. Hoping your mom's nausea will get under control
for good.. That is the worse thing, I think.

Buffy: Praying that you will get your blood pressure under control so you can enjoy life a bit.

Love that anniversary picture of MK and her dh..MK, you haven't changed a bit..no kidding..

We had a nice rain last night..It was a good thing because we had grass planted in the back where we had a new wall put in..Don't want to lose any of that grass seed, believe me..

Hugs to everyone..Missed you all yesterday when I worked the Neewollah HQ's..selling tickets and tee-shirts. Have a shift this afternoon..Hoping it will be quiet so I can knit.

KSU meets OSU..today.

Back on my plan since yesterday..Seriously. I would love to be 141ish. Honestly, a few pounds extra really shows up in how my pants fit..Not good.

First cool day of fall here and overcast, maybe rain tonight.

I am having a really good day, felt so bad first 3 days of the week, BP tooo high. Felt good past couple of days and BP good. All with the same meds

Just have fingers crossed that this lasts through my visit with sister.

I have a roast in the oven, first one this fall. Comfort food for a cool fall evening. I won't mention the mashed taters and Iowa sweet corn that DD froze for me.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hugs all around

Hi!

Rainy day here - DH is watching football and I'm catching up on the DVR!
The dog is going crazy with all the fireworks - lots of Homecomings this weekend.

Buffy - maybe it just takes the meds a while to settle in?
And now I want mashed potatoes!

That's a perfect excuse Cindy! We'll certainly let you slide this month because of that. I sure hope you had tons of fun. And I hope your vacation weight doesn't decide to stick like velcro like mine did this last time. Ugh!

Buffy, I hope you keep feeling better for now, your trip and forever!! I miss your smiling bubbly posts around here and want you feeling good again.

We went to see Prisoners tonight. INTENSE!!!! But it was very good.

Poor KU and K-State today in football. As usual as a KU fan I can't wait until b-ball season starts, lol.

Hi ladies..

Oh, Cindy, all-inclusive sounds like a cruise..Only there is no seasickness involved and
a beach available at all times..How fun. Knowing you, it will drop like a rock in a little
while..

Yes, Sandy...Boo-hoo on our Kansas teams today.

Buffy: Maybe your meds are "kicking in"..Does it take a while to get adjusted like MK said?

Oh..MK, don't even mention mashed taters..Yummy..but only the "real" ones.

Weight was 144 this a.m. So, I'm working my way down now..and will be very good.

Cleaned some kitchen cupboards out..I had sooo many flavored drink mixes..that I threw out..Old and I don't really use them..Does anyone have a favorite? Now to tackle
my LC recipes and get those organized.akkk..

Morning
Thanks for the well wishes, I miss my old self too

Cindy, glad you had a vacay and enjoyed all of the inclusives!

Thanks for the movie reviews, seems like lots of good ones all of a sudden. I saw Rush Friday, dd and sil loved it, I thought it good. They said Capt Phillips was great too.

Finished Breaking B while I was sick earlier in the week, great great series. Watching Orange is the new Black now.

Last nights dinner was so good, comfort food

Carolyn, all my cupboards, closets, drawers, any nook and cranny need to be cleaned out. :

Debby's, will fly to sisters house, found a great fare back in the summer.

How are the Moms doing today? And little Maddox, can't wait to hear more about him.

Cooler again today and had some welcome rain last night.

Going to start packing today, have several things I must do tomorrow before I can leave and of course, I must have a mani/pedi plus, I move slower than I used too.

Hoping it is just the meds finally kicking in, last night BP extra nice and low. Such a ride

I threw away many LC recipes that I printed out and never used..I feel good.. I did find my almond bran muffin recipe..My almond bran is still in the freezer, so I might need to try it.

Hugs to everyone...

Glad your meds are working..I am so lucky that I have never had that particular problem with blood pressure..I feel for those who do have a problem..

Well, Maddox is projected to stay in NICU for another 10 days! I can't imagine this is "normal" for meconium aspiration? They said the bacteria is not in his spinal fluid (SO DOES THAT MEAN THAT LITTLE BRAND NEW BABY HAD TO HAVE A SPINAL TAP??) but is in his blood.

Today they found out exactly the bacteria so they could treat exactly that bacteria.

DD is in tears as she was released from hospital today. She was expressing breast milk and dropped it... She's frustrated and sad, poor thing. I am very sorry about all this, but very hopeful for later. They finally let her hold him on her lap. I am so involved with my mother I'm far less involved with DD - but DH is as involved as possible.

Will let you know when I know more. Wish this was cheerier - sorry.

Buffy I am just rubbing my hands together you'll get back to your old self.
Cindy I've never had a mojito but my friends think it's a delicious beverage.

Oh Carolyn - throwing away LC recipes you've never tried... I'm not there yet.

Sorry for my Sandy friend and Carolyn friend my alma mater (OSU) won that match.

Barely. tough to be an OSU fan, believe me.

Sounds like he did have a spinal tap, Judy. Bless his heart that he has to go through all this but you guys will all have stories to tell, that's for sure!

So happy, my Mizzou team is doing well! 5-0 and beat Vanderbilt! Still miss being in the Big 12 and all those old rivalries. More than that, miss seeing our Mizzou team televised. Maybe once they play big teams like Georgia and Florida and Alabama they'll be on tv again!

DH walked as I bicycled alongside him today for over an hour. Beautiful day for that today! Next weekend going to see my Mom in Arkansas. Cannot wait to see her for myself again! (It's been nearly 5 months).

Oh Judy, that's so scary. Praying that little Maddox will respond quickly to the meds and get to go home sooner than expected. My heart certainly goes out to your DD. I've never been able to imagine what that must feel like to have a baby and then have to leave that baby at the hospital when you go home. So sad.

I like a good mojito!!! In fact, this spring I grew mint in my backyard just for mojitos. If I make them at home I can keep them much lower in sugar and they're delicious!

I'm finally back into the middle of my "safe window" of weight. It's taken me 7 weeks after vacation to accomplish that!!!! And I certainly was not perfect that whole time but I was mindful the whole time, IYKWIM.

Off to the gym this a.m. for intervals and then water aerobics. As it gets cooler I'll probably end my mornings there in the sauna to try to warm up before I go back outside, lol.

Way to go Sandy! You did that by getting back on track & killing yourself with the new exercise! Wow!! I've been talking with a few others who started the big exercise programs & the wt. gain (from the exercise) has been really tough for them to handle - so, how many weeks before your wt. started dropping?

Yesterday I woke up with my hip out of joint (or so it felt). Too much pain to go to church. So I walked the dog at church time & was actually able to do my whole walk (albeit slowly) with her. It really helped. Today I just feel it slightly, but not out anymore. PTL.

We went to the church potluck last night. I ate before we left Then it turned out there were gluten-free dishes there... but they didn't look low-carb, so I'm glad I ate first. It was a good time of "thanksgiving" & fellowship. Next week is Canada's Thanksgiving.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
