Mine too Carolyn!
Because you have a "special" calendar, you get to name the month anything you want!

Doc appt, new hair and brows and some dog walks today.
It's just so hot!!

Hi ladies..

Too scared to weigh..LOL, but I am doing induction for a few days to remove the excess fat..and drinking water.

MKay, is right..It is HOT..I think Debby and maybe Sharon are cooler than we are right now..Maybe???

Alex (cat) enjoyed having Brett catsit him..He sat right on his hands when he was on his lap top...

Poor KSU.. They need a little defense this year, but it wasn't horrible..

Hoping Judy is enjoying the lake..I would be swimming a lot today to keep cool..

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Carolyn the last couple of days has been close to 100 degrees here. Our tongues are hanging out!

Boy August went by fast. Next month will be a loss for me with that great Challenge heading. This month was a stand still.

I've been enjoying OMMs for breakfast lately. I felt full and nice with coffee. I made a broccoli cold salad that we had with dinner last night that was nice for a change of pace. Still doing the steamed eggs. Love how they peel.

Time to start my day. Have a nice Labor Day!

Happy Saturday everyone.

Just made a triple batch of fat bombs, 24 for DD#2, DD#3 and 24 for me. Keep forever in the freezer so nice to make a lot all at the same time.

Going to an open house this afternoon and then the kids coming by this evening. Good start to a holiday weekend.

Buffy - How did you like your kale chips? I will try that after I get through my next two weeks of mainly protein. I have GOT to get serious about losing this bloating and decided to start my program TODAY!!

Sharon - I'm looking for a loss in September, that is for sure! By the way, what are OMMs? (I probably would know, but cannot figure out the initials).

Carolyn - DH and I are KSU fans also. Don't hold it against us but we also cheer for Mizzou! We have paid tuition for both schools so we are fans! Feel better cheering for both now that Mizzou (MU) is in the SEC and not both in the Big 12 (though that was a good ride).

Judy - You are so sweet! I'm glad to be here too. Thanks for posting the recipe for Strawberry Cheesecake Popsicles....keeping that one to try in a few weeks. Did you lose weight by avoiding wheat/grains? Are you still off them?

Sandy - Youngest DD lives in RiverMarket area and I go up to see her about 4 times a year; she comes home about every 6-8 wks too. It would be fun to get together sometime! Congrats to your DGD for having the courage and success to stick her instructor--as a student that would make ME nervous!

No big plans this weekend. Just going to get things done inside the house and avoid being outside (DH said it was 107-108 degrees here yesterday!) DH and I may go to a movie. Anybody have any suggestions for what is playing at the theatre nowadays?

Ate out yesterday and just tired of the bloating....so decided to start my weight loss TODAY and do as best as I can the next two weeks to focus on high protein/low carb. Looking forward to a loss in September as it just FALLS off!! (I think this character is SO adorable!) Enjoy your weekend, friends....be safe and have fun!!

Hi gals..

Deb: Our dd31 went to KU and ds26 went to KSU as did my dh....We have friends' kids who went to Mizzou, too..Does your dd live in a condo down in the Riverfront? My dd and her dh live in Armour Hills..

Oh, fat bombs.. Yummy..Need to make some soon..

Okay, the Veggie Chips are also available at Amazon..I'm sure they are the same as the Amish ones..So good..

I did hop on the scale..Gained 2 pounds this week, which is not terrible considering the carbs I had and too much food in general.

Fit OMM is a One Minute Muffin. They are made in the microwave in a wide mouth cup or small bowl.

This is the one that I've been making:

One Minute Muffin (OMM)
___________________
1 tbsp. coconut flour
1 tbsp. almond flour
1 tbsp. vanilla zero carb whey powder
1 tbsp. swerve
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 dash salt
1 large egg
1 tsp fresh butter, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla

Method
In a wide mouth coffee mug, combine your coconut flour, almond meal, protein powder, sugar replacement, baking powder and salt. (or other microwaveable safe mold, of some kind. I like to grease my mug first, but I don't think it's necessary).

Mix in your egg, melted butter and vanilla.

Microwave on high 60 seconds. (90 seconds if you've added lots of ingredients , like nuts, frozen berries, etc.)

Eat and enjoy!

Illinois actually won today! Go Illini!

Deb - my DH was a Mizzou grad - as are all my nieces and nephews!
They mainly live in the KC area - and I've wanted to get us all together too - but we only go there for Thanksgiving and Easter and it's all family time.

Sharon - panting here too!

Buffy - enjoy the kids!!

I was 118.6 this morning - I may want to keep that for my weigh-in number. Keep you posted!

Fit, afraid I haven't made the kale chips yet. I did do baked okra and it was very good.

We are KU fans here!! But we still love everybody else too, of course. When they're not playing KU anyway. We are off to the Irish Fest tomorrow morning. If it's not raining. If it is, we'll go down later in the day. We really don't want to sit through mass in the rain.

Carolyn, 2# really isn't bad for a whole trip. You'll have it off in no time.

I sure hope all the hot weather everywhere eases up soon. It's getting very tiresome!

We went to see Elysium today. Matt Damon, Jodie Foster set in the future. Intense action and interesting plot. It had good reviews and it did keep our attention. I want to see The Butler.

Thanks for the movie recommendation, Sandy. I'll have to ask DH what he is interested in....Duh! He loves everything Matt Damon is in!

Sandy and MaryKay - We had oldest DD check out KU because we wanted to see about in-state tuition....also checked out Northwestern in Illinois.....but we all agreed that Mizzou had best set up/opportunity for broadcast journalism and that is what DD did! Has been pretty successful in her career BTW, I will be in OP next Saturday for conference til noon, and could meet up sometime in the afternoon if that worked out?! My oldest DD & SIL are coming in to see youngest DD and Saturday they are headed to the MU game! I will see them the eve prior. Youngest DD (26yo) is KSU grad too! Wonder if she would know your son!? Yes, she does live in condo. You both have GOT to tell me how you lost your weight....did you do it together? SB? In my avatar photo on right I had just finished my 2nd 5K and was at goal weight of 137....but that was in 2010. Ready to get my body back to that, I felt so fabulous!

Sharon - Yum!! Thanks for the recipe! Do you know the "stats" on it? This is the first time I have heard of swerve....I'll have to look for it. Is it in regular grocery stores?

Cindy - Hi! I work prn in an outpatient surgery center to keep my fix of working with my own patients....are you mainly doing inpatient or out?

Does someone let us know here when to jump over to the new month thread? This is great!

Hi

Will start the September thread.

Ds26 graduated in 2010 in Mechanical Engineering. Not a lot of girls in that area.

On my phone.
