Did you put any glycerine in your ice cream? And what sweetener combo did you use? And did you use the type of freezer that you add ice and salt to freeze it? It sounds a lot like my ice cream recipe but it of course calls for regular sugar, but no gelatin and only 4 eggs. And it's not cooked at all. It's really good too. I ought to try to sub sweetener and see how it does.

I saw that movie listed at a theater out close to us too. It looks very interesting. Thanks for the Beth-review on it.

Good morning.

This time I didn't put glycerine in
My ice cream because I thought that the gelatin would take care of it. It works okay but doesn't make it as creamy as the glycerine. I used my concentrated Splenda this time. Sometimes I use erythritol. My freezer is the kind you put the canister in the freezer for 24 hours and it gets very cold. No ice/salt involved.

Dh went to the farm to help his brother spray brush. Lol. They are playing farmer.

Off to shower. Going to our tiny farmers market to see if there are green beans.

My mother gave me some green beans a couple of weeks ago - a friend of hers from church was overrun with them. I cooked them with bacon and an onion and could not stop eating them...

I am thinking I might use a combo of half Swerve and half liquid Splenda - EZ Sweetz - in your ice cream - what do you think? My freezer is the same kind as yours - put it in the freezer for 24 hrs. - no ice or salt. I am definitely planning to make 1/2 the recipe. I wonder if I should add a little glycerine? I have it.

Leaving in a couple of hours to go to Perkins to see our family on the farm!
I'll think of Gary and his brother.

I roasted some fresh green beans last week. They were wonderful!

Thanks for all the ice cream info. I have an electric freezer that I use ice and salt with. I hope that works.

Morning!!

DS24 and DH are outside scraping and painting, I'm doing laundry and cleaning out a corner of out bedroom, DS20 was a lifeguard for a triathlon at 7:00am and is home recuperating.

......... and later . . . . since i forgot to post this . . . .

Desk is cleaned off - there are still bags and boxes and Rubbermaid containers filled will who knows what . . . but that's for another time - I need to run some errands and finish the laundry!

And dream about green beans and ice cream . . . though not together!

Hummmm......putting my Kitchenaid ice cream bowl in the freezer! We had homemade ice cream on the 4th and it made me want to experiment with a batch. Peach ice cream sounds good!

I roasted the beans at either 425 or 450, I'm not sure now which. And for about 20 minutes. I drizzled them with olive oil, garlic powder and kosher salt. I shook the pan to roll them over at the 10 min. mark. They were really very tasty. A dish I will for sure make again.

We're just starting to pick our green beans. I'll be roasting mine as well. They taste so good that way.

Sandy did you try the strawberry cheesecake popsicles yet?

Sharon it was me and not yet - I have a brick of cream cheese on my counter waiting for me to try it! And it might have to wait there until I try Carolyn's peach ice cream which just..... sounds..... so..... summery and.... good!

MK I think you added that little bit about things in the rubbermaid containers to make me feel better. It's those things I don't know what to do...
And if I could get my desk cleaned off I don't know how happy I would be, but it would be pretty happy!

LOVE roasted green beans, Brussels sprouts, about anything...

Hi ladies and Jim,

Didn't get any green beans at the farmer's market, but I know they will be plentiful somewhere..soon..At the Bountiful Basket, I got a pineapple and 2 papaya among other fruits and veggies. I made a fruit salad. It was carby and delicious..No weight gain cuz I didn't have any fat with it.

I have our CWClub speaker staying with me on Wednesday night..Clean, clean, clean..
I hope she isn't fussy..Now for breakfast..I might get some little sausages and have eggs..

Oh yummy Sandy. I have all the ingredients and will be making them today. They had some beautiful strawberries at our Trader Joe's yesterday. Now I'm all set to go. Laughing!

It's another foggy morning so will be a lovely cooler day when it lifts around 11. We are going to try to get out there again with the dogs to get some walking in before too long.

MK you son looks right at home on his board catching a few zzz's.

Have a nice day.

He's been a competitive swimmer since he was 6 and is really at home in the water.

He was waiting for the swimmers to start and the newspaper got his picture!

Mary Kay how neat!!
And he does look right at home.

Sharon I decided to make those strawberry popsicles today. I figure they can sit in the freezer for weeks and be enjoyed here and there while peach ice cream will get eaten and quickly! Peach ice cream will be made soon...

Carolyn I love it that you enjoyed some delicious fresh fruit and no weigh gain. I might secretly wish for more weight loss, but I will openly say I don't want to eat differently than I am eating now. And I bought the cutest tight white cropped pants at TJ Maxx and even though I am not skinny, I am happy with that...

I guess if I weighed less, I might have more wiggle room. Maybe in the future, as Sandy kind of suggested. Her 'window' became lower over time - Carolyn's too, I think?
I want to eat some fruit one day - just like you did Carolyn - and not have it undo everything.

There are so many good things to eat on this woe and I know that's been the basis of success for me. I don't want to slip, but I AM watching all of you maintainers very closely. There are so many success stories right here in our little group.

Judy - if you're comfortable, that's all that matters!!

I'm not sure I'd be as comfortable as DS20 out in the middle of a lake . . .

Hi everyone..

I love that picture of your ds, MKay...I guess if you were on the swimteam for years, this is natural..

Oh..guess what? There is a LC recipe for Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream on the I Dream of Food blog..Coffee/almonds/fudge..It doesn't get better than that..It is labeled Jamoca Almond Fudge Ice Cream and Carolyn
posted it July, 2012.

Strawberry Cheesecake Popsicles – Low Carb and Gluten-Free

Yield: 12 small popsicles
Serving Size: 1 popsicle

Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup cream
1/3 cup powdered swerve
1/4 tsp stevia extract
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp lemon zest
2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped, divided

Instructions

Place cream cheese in a food processor and process until smooth. Add cream, powdered erythritol, lemon juice, lemon zest and stevia extract. Process until well combined. Add 1 1/2 cups of the strawberries and process until almost fully smooth. Stir in remaining chopped strawberries. Pour mixture into popsicle molds and push popsicle sticks about 2/3 of the way into each (I recommend getting wooden sticks, as they tend to grip the mixture better and don't come out when you are trying to unmold the popsicles). Freeze at least 4 hours. To unmold, run under hot tap water for 20 to 30 seconds, and then twist stick gently to release.

Sharon I'm so sorry - you kept talking about Sandy making those popsicles and I totally forgot she was doing it too!

I made mine today and OH MY STARS you all must try these. Or that is my opinion anyway. The mixture tastes EXACTLY like strawberry cheesecake.
Mine actually made 14 - my popsicle molds must be extra small. And there was still plenty for me to sample.

Now Carolyn you say she also has a Jamoca Almond Fudge recipe -- my dear mother's absolute favorite flavor!!

Baskin Robbins has always been my favorite ice cream. I like a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake (or is it NY cheesecake with a ribbon of strawberry running through it?) plus a scoop of chocolate almond. I am thinking I have no need to be wistful of Baskin Robbins ice cream anymore!

Sandy am I over-selling this? Did you like it? Sharon did you make it?

Yep, they're good Judy. And since I added extra cream I got 16 pops out of my batch with a tad leftover in a bowl.

MK, love the pic!! How'd he do in the race?

I have fresh berries pretty frequently with cream or yogurt mixed in. Not much other fruit though.
