I checked the Walmart website and it is on the $4 list - no club card needed.

However I do have the club card at Walgreens because the brat pug gets some fancy medicine not usually carried at Wal-Mart. It saves us a ton on her Rx.

Thanks for the WalMart update.. I'm there all the time, so it will be easy for me..In our little town, we have Braums (great groceries), WalMart, and a Marvins (regular grocery store). Of course, the cheapest is WalMart..Alex's FF is 58 cents at WM and 75 cents at Marvins..Go figure..

I love that anniversary "card"..

Off to exercise and then we are cleaning our bedroom carpet. We will do it right and move things..LOL..Since we have an empty nest, there are other bedrooms to sleep in.

Yes, Debby..when you are with company, it is rude to play on the computer all the time..LOL..Glad you are okay.

Not much happening..Gary got the snake sticky pads and he and his brother are going to
install them tomorrow in the crawl space on the farm where they saw the rattler..Yikes..

Thank you everybody for the lovely anniversary wishes.
After the wonderful dinner last night I'm ppeeking over the top of my window. Not good on a Friday!
And it's BBQ contest time here too. And we live close enough to smell the cooking all weekend.

Happy Friday!

We are headed to the lake so of course I have to make too many things before we leave.

Pizza crust, chocolate bean cake, pumpkin muffins for morning.... I sense a theme of bready, sweet things... however I will not feel deprived! I haven't weighed in awhile, but I have a doctor appointment (thyroid, hormones) Monday morning, so the tale will be told.

Wowza..I got 3 months supply of metformin for $15!!! Never in my wildest dreams as a teenager, would I ever think I would say that..LOL..or get excited about that..

I told dh not to take the snake sticky pads up to the farm as his brother wasn't coming this weekend to call 911 if need be.

Making a LC pizza today for dinner..I got the crust made yesterday..

Going to pick up my Bountiful Basket at 4..They have a 20 minute window, so I set the alarm on my phone so I wouldn't forget..

This is wonderful...

Frozen Strawberry Dessert

This was one of favorite pre-low carb desserts..that I adapted
to lowcarb..Don't have a count..

Topping:

1/2 cup of almond flour
2 Tbs. flaxseed meal
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbs. softened butter
2 Tbs. splenda
1/3 cups chopped pecans

Combine and spread in a 9 x 13 pan It won't take up the whole pan..Bake at 350 for about 8 minutes, then with a spatula
break it up and stir..and return to the oven and cook for another
5 minutes..Stir again..Bake until golden brown..Remove from
oven..and cool.

In a large bowl, beat: 3 egg whites or pasteurized whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
one bag of unsweetened frozen straw-
berries, thawed and mashed (10-16 ounces
one cup of Splenda or sweetener

Beat this on high until very fluffy....5 or 6 minutes..

In a medium bowl soften 8 ounces of cream cheese and beat until smooth..Stir in 4 Tbs. of the strawberry mixture, then add one cup of whipped cream, whipped or 8 ounces of Cool Whip.

Fold the cream cheese whipping cream mixture into the strawberry mixture until it is incorporated well..

In a Pammed 9 x 13 pan pour the strawberry mixture. Then sprinkle the topping on top..Cover, and freeze until solid...
You can cut this frozen..

Hi!!

I got some wonderful Colorado peaches from Bountiful Basket yesterday. They are amazing. It is hard to find a good peach around here. I do think I will have to freeze them. Too bad they are so carby. My LC dr said to have carbs in the am if you are going to have them.

Check in later.

Oh that dessert sounds delicious - thank you for posting that.

Carolyn we got some peaches before we went to the lake - supposed to be "local" but they are not Porter peaches. Regardless, they smell heavenly and DD said they were delicious. I might have half a peach tomorrow.

Doctor appointment 11:30 - will starve until then. HA!

Local ones can't be ready yet, so when they say they're local, I always question them.

Aw, I love your new avi, MK!

I am 148.5.
Perhaps I should shoot for lower, and I sure don't feel like twisting off and eating whatever I miss, but I am pretty happy at this weight.
If I lost 10 more pounds, I would probably look awesome.
I just don't know if I have it in me...
I am so happy eating the way I'm eating and I feel very very well.

Since I started Vitamin B supplements a couple of months ago, my mood has drastically improved.

I am 5'4" so not so tall, but.... I am not 25.
I admire you girls for getting low and keeping your window.
Maybe I'll lose more weight as time goes on.
I haven't weighed and measured my food since Thanksgiving!

Judy, that window was very slow to evolve! It used to be 150-155, then 145-150. Only in the last few years has it moved to 140-145. I would like it to be 135-140 someday, but apparently not enough to make it happen. So I guess I'm content with it right where it is. We all have to be where we feel good at and I think you've found your sweet spot.

Hi!
Busy weekend with DD's birthday party and family. Tired, again, today.

Judy, marvelous on your current weight along with how you feel, etc. I would just keep on with what works so well for you.

I can't be there for installing the snake traps either, I fully intended on helping but I have to brush my teeth so can't make it. can't wait to hear all about it and what is lurking around the farm house.

We have had an awesome spring but the heat and Mosquitos have taken control of our outdoors now. I got bit 3 times at the party, after spraying myself with Off, before I threw in the towel. West Nile is such a worry here and I am one of the lucky ones who seems to have the blood they crave

Our little Ollie had his 3rd seizure Sat. Night. Drs seem to think it is brought on by his having a fever but now, after the third one, they recommended they follow up with a neurologist. I am glad they are and hope it is something he will grow out of. I am worried the dr.will put him on anti seizure meds which can make you feel so sluggish. Anxious to see what they find out.

Easy week ahead so maybe I can get caught up again , always a struggle these days with my new low level of energy. Didn't realize how lucky I was all those years of high energy.

Hugs all around!

Hi gals..and Jim,

I'm doing the Fat Fast today..and maybe up to tomorrow night when I will be going to the KState event with Bill Synder speaking..

Oh, little Ollie...Ketogenic diets are good for seizures, but hard to do for little ones..Praying for him...

I think Dh put out the snake traps by himself and he came home in one piece.

Porter peaches are wonderful...We have friends that have a cottage for sale at Grand Lake..The Nickels...from Independence..Do you know them at all??? They are in their 70's..

Sandy..I would like a lower window, too, but I would have to starve to be at lower weight at my age.

MK: No good tomatoes around here..I always buy the cherry ones at the store because they at least taste like tomatoes..

I like Roma tomatoes for taste, and the cherry ones of course. The Roma seem very firm but do have a good flavor. Last night DD fixed summer squash and tomatoes from the
Little garden she and Grant are growing.

I like the roma tomatoes too. They're really good chopped up in a salad or for cooking. And I'll be happy when we have true home grown tomatoes available around here too!

At least for now. I'm encouraged that your window got lower over time.
I honestly and truly wish to start the Slow Burn stuff.

Oh - I guess I've been so self-absorbed I didn't know he was having seizures. I know that's common with a high fever but yes, I'm very glad he'll be seen by a neurologist. So sorry to hear this. But he will be added to my prayers.

I am so glad you mentioned that. I bought Dana Carpender's Fat Fast e-book awhile back, thinking I'd keep it in my back pocket.
I might plan a cheat day, then follow up with a couple of days of fat fast!
And that's true about a ketogenic diet being prescribed for seizures...

Yes - cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, roma tomatoes at least taste like tomatoes.
The squirrels always eat my GREEN tomatoes - pick them, take a couple of bites, then throw them down. I quit trying to grow them.
