Fine - I went to the gym . . . and the library . . . and I've walked the dog twice and finished the laundry.

I'm printing the recipe for the bean cake . . .

Made the bean cake. I didn't wrap it overnight. I just cooled it and frosted it. It is an excellent recipe.

MK good! Guilt instilled!

Carolyn I totally missed the part about wrapping it.
I let it sit on my counter overnight and frosted the next day.
Good to know I don't have to wait. And even without wrapping, every single person told me how moist it was.

Hi ladies and Jim,

Off to the PA's..Hopefully, my thyroid meds are okay..

There is a little farm near us who takes orders for veggies. You order one day, they pick it the next and you pick it up after 4..I ordered turnips/broccoli/greens/beets. Now that Gary is retired, he can come with me..and help me find the place.

Now to have my coffee and a piece of bean cake.. Great way to start the day.

Great way to start the day indeed!!
If most of us ate low carb the way YOU eat low carb, nobody would ever get tired of it.

My SS (skinny sister) announced over lunch at Jason's Deli (salad bar) that she was suddenly, very suddenly tired of the choices she'd been making to continue eating low carb. She and her DH bought the little house next door to them and have been spending an incredible number of hours doing floors, repairs and of course cleaning and painting at the end.

So she had not put much thought into food (it's an old habit of hers). The renter has moved in and I suppose she can re-focus her efforts toward healthy eating.
One night she was so tired and so hungry, she decided to have a bowl of cereal. She was repaid with a big hypoglycemic event in the middle of the night - also an old habit of hers. Low carb for 1 year stopped all those episodes, and she is about 113 pounds which looks great on her. She looks 20 years younger.

It's one of those things I don't think I can fix for someone else, but I can certainly see how her limited choices have kept her in a small area of eating. She finally made Ouizoid's BTF mix and made a couple of little cakes which they have loved. She's not much for a variety of vegetables, unfortunately for her.

One of the things she mentioned was breakfast being boring. She's tired of eggs. I think I'll mention Carolyn's way to rid the house of desserts - eat a portion every morning!

Hi gals and Jim,

My other doctor was impressed on my weightloss...I told her it was due to metformin..
Thyroid is fine with the 3 grains. She "likes" to augment with Iodoral, so I am starting that again..

Carpet cleaned the hall..tomorrow dh can do the living room..It takes a few days to dry, but hopefully it will look better..It is oldish carpet, so I don't worry about it too much.

Yes, desserts for breakfast are soooo luxurious...

Hi everyone..

Love that cartoon..I wonder how many suitors Mary will have now.. With Matthew dying, who is the next heir? What a problem..

Dh and I shampooed several rugs and carpet..Next job is our bedroom..Akkk..

I do love my Chillow that I got yesterday..It keeps your head cool at night when you are sleeping..You fill it with water, get the air out and put it under your pillowcase on top of your pillow. So far, so good..

Brett's 26th birthday..We are taking him out for steak tonight..He will further celebrate with his friend, Jeremy later on.

Well, the lady from BC/BS called..We got the price down to $409 a month for me..No doctors' visits and no meds are covered..My stuff is cheap and wouldn't add up to the extra $150 a month that it was going to cost. She said, "Of course, this will be good until Dec. 31 until the insurance reform kicks in"..Who knows what it will cost then..

Pictures for church this afternoon..I'm not getting any extra..

I should probably look around for different insurance, but am afraid to.
I pay nearly $700/month for only me - covers no well visits to docs and excludes my glaucoma and psoriasis. I think it's nearly major medical, which is OK with me.

DH is in the High Risk Pool and has excellent coverage (at $1100/month). Glad to have it, as he is otherwise uninsurable.
I hope so much our state still has the high risk pool after all this legislation goes
through.

I am interested in your Chillow! Keep us informed.
Happy birthday dear Brett!

Hi everyone..

My insurance is BC/BS..and it is Major Medical. Glad OK has that high risk pool for your dh..Now, I have to shop around and find out which pharmacies are the cheapest for metformin, when you pay out of pocket.

We had a nice dinner with Brett last night. Thanks for your happy birthdays for him..And dh and I have leftovers for tonight. I did give him a few presents along with $$..He loves Terry Pratchett, science fantasy author, so he had a new book, then I gave him a box of Quest bars.

Lunch at Pizza Hut..Will get salad and a few toppings off the pizza..This is not my choice, but the other ladies like to meet there..They both have diabetes, so go figure.

Akk..144..near the ceiling..Better watch it..carefully.

Good Morning.

have to take DD to the airport this morning. The visit has been so wonderful, just love having her here with me, and all of us. Loved by all the nieces, nephews, her sisters, we all love the time she is here. SIL was here briefly, enjoyed that a lot as well. Seems like the week has just flown by, it really has flown by. There is a bakery here that makes wonderful WW bread so she is trying to get 3 loaves of that in her luggage

Now, got to get rested up again

Hugs all around

Forty five years ago on one of the hottest days of the year, in a church with NO air conditioning I married my high school sweetheart. How time flies!!

I'm pushing the top of my window too Carolyn. I've been very munchy the last few days. I've eaten too much and I know I've had way too much sodium. Time to rein it in a bit I guess.
Happy belated Bday wishes to Brett. Sounds like he had a good one!

Yes, Happy Anniversary, Sandy.. Did your cake slide? We had a problem in our
church pre-AC that the cakes would slide around..Many happy years to come for both of you.

Hey, gang..was checking out metformin prices as I will be paying for it myself starting July. Guess what? At Walgreens, you join the Pharmacy Club (whoppee), pay your $20 dues a year, and the metformin pills are $5 a month..What? The normal price is like $30..Too good to be true..But I am ever hopeful..

I cooked my farm fresh turnips and beets..The turnips do have a bite and I probably won't eat them all..

Did you check Walmart? I think met might be on the $4 list?

No, we didn't have the cake at the church, so no sliding, lol.
