Made some nommie peach ice cream. The secret to a nice smooth ice cream is glycerin. I never made ice cream without it!!! I made that frozen strawberry dessert today for
Friday. Licking the bowl is half the fun!!
I thought you did get tickets? Were they sold out? If so, keep checking, even up to the day you want to go. They have cancellations up until the last minute.

Darn, Sandy - that's a long stomach bug!
And a not-fun way to get to the bottom of your weight window.
Sorry.

Haha
And, I don't think I have made a one of those recipes, but yes, they do look good. My DD's like me to share the ones I see that I think we would like, then they can just go to my page and get them.

Went to my Endo yesterday, they drew blood so will get results sometime next week.

Summer has arrived in TX, or did I already say that this week? 100 yesterday and today, then a few days in the 90's and then the beast of July and August will be with us. Hair lank and sweaty, clothes uncomfortable and sweaty. Yuck

Sandy, hope you get over your tummy troubles soon.

Judy, does that mean you will be coming to see me, please please!!

Went to 3 Kohl's yesterday to find tennis shoes for Grant who HATES to shop. Kohl's always has them on a sale and I had the 30% off coupon. I just picked up all the ones in each store that I thought he might like and that might fit. They came over today and he liked 2 pairs that he took home. Now, Mema has to bag up the rest and return them. Sat. they have Carters and Osh Gosh 50% off, my 30% coupon is still good so will return shoes and look for some play outfits for Ollie. Merry Go Round shopping.
Grant usually fusses about even having to try on the shoes but I stopped him short today. I asked him if he could think of ANYTHING worse than having to try on shoes? Hmmm, he was puzzled. I said, How about a boy who didn't have a Grandma or Mother who loved him enough to shop for or buy him any shoes? LOL. He went right in and tried them on!

Got about half of my office work caught up today. When our business was busy I spent most of every day in here in my office, now that we aren't near as busy, I am TERRIBLE about getting in here and keeping the paperwork done. Hope to get the rest caught up tomorrow and Sat.

Hi everyone..

Owie, Sandy..Stomach bug is not fun. Several peeps down here have had that..

Oh, Buffy....Love your Grant shoe intervention..What a great idea!!! He is very lucky to have a Mema who will take all those other shoes back in 100 degree weather.

I will call the New Theater again and see if anyone cancels..They didn't have a table for 5 just a table for 4 (we have to pay for the other table) and another table for 2 at another area..So, we will see..I would love to see it.

Lunch out with the exercise buddies at Susie's Chinese..I wonder if they will cook the veggies and meat without the sauce??? Hmmmm...Cuz we have a barbecue Friday night..Two big meals in one day..Not good.

Hi..

Yes, that Brownie recipe that Buffy posted might lead some LCers off the track. Of course, we could do it lowcarb..

I think I will ask for some recipe with no sauce, for sure..My "friends" might think it is wierd, but that is where all the carbs can hide..No rice, of course. But we do have a crab rangoon..(non-negotiable).

I made some blueberry and banana walnut scones from George Stella's recipes..They are good and easy, easy..I put them in the freezer.

Have a great day..

How funny - something I was reading yesterday took me to George Stella's site and I am ready to make his drop scones, but with blueberries instead of raspberries.

I would LOVE some banana-flavored scones. And I do have banana DaVinci!
Do you use some actual bananas in your recipe Carolyn?

Cindy - you crack me up too.

Morning!
Cindy, I got it, but admit, it took me a minute

Working again in the office, making another small dent.

I make a great soft serve strawberry ice cream, just frozen strawberries, HWC and some liquid splenda and liquid stevia. I use my stick blender and it makes enough for 2 large servings.

Going to run errands, groceries and a little shopping today. Supposed to be 100 or above, so I may not last long.

All my Dallas grand kids will be traveling or visiting relatives the month of July so it will be pretty quiet for Mema for July. Will make 1 trip to Austin for sure. The seizures that Ollie is having are febrile seizures, they saw a neurologist and she didn't seem too worried about them. Sure scare us though.

DH has to go to New Orleans to do a small job on July 5th. Thought about going along for the weekend but whew, it will be sooo hot and muggy there at that time.

Well, back to work.

Hi ladies and Jim,

Got my Chinese food without cornstarch..Every little bit helps..It was fine..

Judy: I used one nanner in the recipe..So one scone would have 1/6th of a nanner..Not horrible in the carb department.

Yes, Ju-Lying About Your Weight? Is that our name for July???

Went to the chiro..My doctor insurance runs out June 30, so I saved $20 by changing my appointment..

We are on the waiting list for Buddy Holly in case someone decides not to show up..Let's hope they don't..and cancel..

Thanks for the bd wishes
I had a wonderful day today. We went out for breakfast with our friends, then rode the motorcycle through the mountains to this lake... at lunch I had a taco salad, but it unfortunately had re-fried beans in it... oh man, was I full! Kind of think I may have "found" those extra lost lbs!

We're staying at this lake (Lake Chelan, WA) for 2 nights & renting a jet ski tomorrow. See how that goes. Its really hot here. Ugh! But that's good for doing the lake I guess!

Have a great week-end!

Hi

Debby, happy belated birthday!!! Be careful on the jetski!! Hot is not that much fun. But the lake will feel good.

Now.... We need a name for July unless we want to go with the Ju-lying one which is cute. Votes and ideas please.

The dessert was great. It is best set out for about 30 minutes before it is served so it is not so frosty.

We are going to Godspell, Jr tonight. The local children's theater puts it on.

Debby, tear it up out there! So fun.

Sandy are you better?

Carolyn I remember Godspell - nice of you to support the youth.

Buffy we are about to have a nice reprieve from the heat. Don't know if it will dip down to you, but we'll have highs in the 80s and evenings in the 60s!

Happy weekend to all - off to swimming!

Yes, cool front reached us! Feels so much better. DS said it was 105 in Austin yesterday.

Didn't get all of my errands ran yesterday so not sure if I will venture out today or not. Hate to go out on Saturdays when I can go any day of the week and no crowds.

DD#2 met with an advisor who does blood tests and then after reviewing them, advises you on good/not so good foods for your blood type and different supplements that will help you in areas where your blood tests reveal you need help. 2 supplements he advised jumped out immediately, B vitamins and magnesium, we all know about those here or are learning about them. I haven't picked up my B's yet. He also is advising that she take a few others, she is to pick that list up on Monday. Some he provides and some she gets at Whole Foods. She is going to be the token experiment for our family and if we see great results, then her sister and I might go. We are excited to see how it works. The friend that told DD about him says he "changed" her and her husbands lives???

My trip to Kohl's yesterday. 2 pairs of PJ's for Ollie from the 70% off rack, 4 summer t shirts from the 70% off rack for Ollie, 12 pairs of socks for Grant, buy 1 pack, get 2nd half price off. 1 pair of shorts for Mema, half price. The total was $62.20 for all of that, but WAIT!!! Then I had my $10 coupon, and my $5.00 coupon (which had expired but I told her that and she took it anyway) and my 30% off coupon that I have been using, the new total, $35.77 for all of that. From original price, which of course, we never pay, I saved $124.96. Love that kind of shopping!

Hi,

Carolyn finally! A pasta recipe I could actually accomplish.

Still haven't achieved making gluc noodles.
This looks DO-able - thank you!

Buffy no wonder you are exhausted.
Your type of shopping makes me exhausted just looking at it!
And a little jealous!
