It's funny - I chose a line of work that is very solitary and studious - the exact opposite of my personality.

Yes, one of each, so we are very happy - and would have been no matter what, I guess. And you are right, Carolyn, any wishes for one gender or the other are surely already gone.

Yes, Sandy I picked up the cake and somehow managed NOT to poke a cake tester in the bottom to see early. If I'd picked it up earlier I totally would have cheated. HA HA!

Spackling party = genius.
So exciting to be starting out with a DGD and a DGS!!! You will be a wonderful grandmother. So nice that you will live near them both.

Hi ladies and busy Jim,

Well, the party didn't last very long, but hopefully, it helped cover some of the cracks in the wall before they paint..Sanding party tomorrow, but I can't be there..LOL.

Buffy, your cats are so thoughtful...I didn't realize that you lost your parents in a fire..How terribly tragic.

Great day today..Alex is doing well..nice long run with some "drops" which is a good thing..

One week from today, Sandy/Cindy and I will meet again..Did Cindy get the memo that the time was changed??? to 9:30??

Laundry day....of course.

All have a good one..

Hi ladies..

Walked 2 miles and then babysat at the church so the Young Moms could have a break..
Need more exercise this afternoon I believe..It is so nice here...

Alex has gone 50 hours without insulin..I think he knows that I am leaving for a few days next week and he will have to trust his dad to test/dose him..LOL..

Have to get some plants for the front..Will do that when I come back..

Ribs tonight with coleslaw..I will cook them in the oven and finish them on the grill with LC sauce..

How is everyone doing today?

I am sOOOO happy as my little diabetic friend32, new mom, is going to my LC doctor
the end of the month..Praise God..no kidding..I told her that I would help her in anyway
with recipes, etc..

Hi friends,

Swimming this morning then errands, some weed killing, now to the kitchen to cook for my pregnant girls. I'm actually only chopping up a big salad. I made a giant salad for the "reveal" party and for some reason it just tasted great to them, so they've requested a repeat - I'm giving them each a pint of my dressing.
The dressing is not that special, but it is tasting extra good right now - just a balsamic vinaigrette. For some reason, I decided to use my immersion blender on it and it just kind of zipped it all up nicely.

Baby corn, baby carrots, everything baby!

Carolyn Alex is so smart!
And hooray for your friend going to your LC doc - and having you for a friend with the most incredible recipes.

Hello to all!

It is amazing..He is at 54 hours now..I am hoping his little pancreas doesn't shut down..

He has been on TR for 2 months (March 16th), so I hope this is the real
deal, not just a bump in the road to getting off the juice.

I love my immersion blender too. Mostly use it for cauliflower. Mine came with a miniature food processor attachment that I like to use for small amounts of veggies or small batches of biscuits. Cuts butter into flours quite nicely!

I've been potting plants and planted 3 new drift roses today. It was 95* on my home thermometer today! I wonder if we're going to have another super hot summer. I sure hope not.

Hi y'all
Sounds like you're doing well.

I just got an update on Dianne (gal that fell on the re-bar). She's flying home right now! To our local hospital! That's even more then she dared ask for! It will be so good for her to be home, where friends & family can lavish "love" on her.
We just got back from voting. Nice little community visit with neighbors.
Good Night!

Hi everyone!!

I think we have the same one. Beth bought mine at Costco.

So glad Dianne is coming home to her local hospital. Prayers for continued healing.

Exercise today. That is all I have to do. I like these days.

Alex's numbers were good this morning. . I am holding my breath that he is pretty well healed.

Check in later. !

Oh Debby what great news! Thanks for letting us know.

Alex the very good kitty with the very best mom - congrats!

Going to OKC today for an eye appointment - regular - glaucoma checkup. So far, I'm always perfect. At least in THAT area of my life!

Happy day to all!

Good morning..

Was 141 this morning..Gotta keep it down for my Lawrence trip in case something slips
between my lips..LOL.

Alex is still going strong..No insulin since Mother's Day..(Maybe this was HIS present to me)..

Nice day today..Got some ferns for the front..Now, to hitch up that hose without it leaking where it hitches to the faucet..Hate that..I was tempted to get a new hose, but
I will give this one and Dh a second chance.

What's up with everyone? Good luck at your eye doctor's appointment...It is nice to have perfect eyes.

I just realized I had not checked in for a couple of days. Been really working on my patio "garden", it is getting me outside, keeping me busy and hopefully building my strength back up a little, I still get tired and feel weak at times.

So pretty and probably a very good activity for you right now. I've been planting a little bit too. And putting out more bird feeders.

sounds like everyone is busy and was glad to read the good news shared. Debby, so glad your friend is flying home to a hospital near by. Judy, I need some of your cooking here, I have been busy outside and really slacking inside. Never seem to get it all done.

So happy Alex is getting ready for his Dad to nurse him, LOL.

Sandy, I have never grown roses, but I do love them. And Carolyn, I have also never grown ferns although I have numerous areas that they would probably do well in. A neighbor down the street has them in front of her house and they always look so pretty.

That day that you mid-westerners were so warm, your temp was higher than ours! It is cloudy today, talk of rain but not sure if it will or not. I had to go ahead and water my plants yesterday just in case the rain didn't come, some of them were letting me know they were DRY!!!

I tried a lot of new things this year to see how they do, some I will plant again if they do well, some not and I am trying to get more perennials going.

Take care everyone!!

Sandy, thank you, plants and flowers are so healing.

We love to have the birds come and are always trying to entice more to our yard. We have 2 bird feeders and a birdbath and get some but not nearly as many as I would like. After a hawk or something swooped down and got one of our doves a couple of years ago, they quit coming every evening like they used to, love to hear them coo. I asked my BIL about attracting more birds as he loves them and he gave me some more ideas.

Oh, our pecan trees are shedding like mad right now, those nasty seed pods or whatever they are, can't keep the patio clean right now.

I'm sure not known for my flower growing abilities. I have killed more roses, etc. than I've ever grown, but it gives me something to do, lol. I keep telling DH I'm done! But spring comes and I plant, like clockwork.

Right now I'm trying to attract Orioles. I talked to a lady at the store who said she has about 12 in her yard every day! They're beautiful birds but I'm afraid I'm too late. I'll try earlier next year. Our hummingbirds finally showed up yesterday. Our usual birds are hanging around too. We have 3 woodpeckers who live very close and come to eat. Along with finches, both gold and purple, wrens, doves, and some I don't know what they are called. DH is really more of a bird watcher than I am, but he's slowly converting me, lol. I resisted at first as I thought it was only something "old" people did, lol. I guess I finally gave up and decided I'm old, right?

Buffy..What pretty flowers..I stop feeding the birds in the summer..I do miss them, but dh says they can find their own food in nature..But, it is entertainment for Alex..Then
2 big old raccoons come up on the deck at night and eat the leftovers. I'm afraid they
will carry off my squirrel-proof bird feeder.

I am not good with flowers..Just ferns that sit on my porch..When I remember to water them..

Hi y'all,
Sounds like you've got summer
Looking forward to that!

I've been busy getting ready for our trip. Course we're going for an over-niter this week-end too, so that makes even more pressure! So much to do, so little time.

Looking forward to being care-free.

Hi

Debby, being carefree is such a wonderful feeling!!

Alex is at 90 hours and drug-free. LoL.

Meeting this morning at a wonderful coffee shop. I will get a latte and not worry about the milk too much. However it does look like rain.

I am hooked on The Grand on Netfix. It isn't as highbrow as DA but entertaining.

I love that I can put Netflix on my
Phone and watch it on my upstairs tv. Just a couple of wire things my ds ordered thru Amazon.

Have a great day everyone. I made some of Barbo's coconut flour Danishes. Check them out. They are good!!!

Please ask Brett what those couple of little wire thingys are. I'd love to watch my Netflix in my bedroom! And yes, I'm now hooked on The Grand and I've only watched 1.25 episodes so far. I tried getting into Upstairs/Downstairs and just couldn't quite get there.

My DD is in Dallas this week and was scared to death last night with all the storms in the area, especially not knowing how far everything was from where she was since she was not familiar with that area. I'm glad I didn't know it was even happening at the time!

Sandy - and I worried about Buffy - of course it was this morning, totally after the fact, since i didn't know about the tornadoes either!

Debby - yes, it's 80 and summer!

I wish I had as interesting things to post as you all - I LOVE seeing what you are saying.
I am getting ready to leave for Colorado for a couple of weeks. DH will fish with my brother-in-law and they will be SO happy. My mother, my SS and I will probably do a little outlet mall shopping, some walking and some low carb baking. I'm going to take a couple of sacks of food things so we can "treat" ourselves.

I have some things to plant before we leave. We got a great 1" of rain from the storms - and I sure hope Buffy checks in and lets us know she is OK...

Alex is a champ! Way to go Alex's pancreas! And Carolyn !

I made a note of "The Grand" if I ever graduate to netflix it'll be on my list, I am sure.

Debby I think I'm going to be carefree for a couple of weeks, too! Have a great trip/trips! I'll be checking in, but from my phone, so please forgive in advance my short responses... We'll leave Sunday (I think) but we don't have internet at the condo (and I kind of like that!)...

MK - you are a dear, but I understand your trepidation. Praying for you! And your lucky friend! HA HA!

Have a great day!
