Hi Y'all
Hope you enjoyed beautiful sunny Saturday like we did! Wow, it was gorgeous! The grass turned green overnight & my hummingbird was here waiting for me. So cute.
We had a good ride, I kept to my plan & ate everything I packed. Pretty perfect. Even had at least an hour of hiking in there.

Cool day Jim, hope it "melts" some more off! I sent you a friend request there, since that's my tool. Hope your clean-up project goes well.

I used to shoot occasionally, just to refresh how the rifle worked, (for bears). For some reason, I'm a very good shot... guess its in the eye. I don't enjoy it though. Too noisy & don't like the kick-back. Its also probably not a good idea for me to be handling guns. I'm not what you call "careful" with anything. oops.

Have a good Saturday night!

Oh! prayer: Please pray for a friend of mine. She's a young grandma (like some of you), she was at the construction site (they're building a new home) and she fell down the stairs onto some re-bar (those dirty-rusty metal rods used in concrete). It impaled her through the buttocks-hip area, missing all vital organs. But they had to cut it down to take her to hospital. Please pray for the doctors. This is going to be one difficult case to figure out, and of course pray for Dianne for complete healing & speedy recovery... thanks

I have a .22 pistol. I can't remember the brand right now, but it's a luger style. We've had it for over 35 years! All this talk of shooting really makes me want to go. My son belongs to a gun club, I should see if he wants to take me.

Hi everyone..

Watch out, or you'll shoot your eye out, MK..LOL..and Sandy, too..

Jim: Great idea...Many of us used an on-line program to keep track of foods..It is amazing how things add up quickly.

Oh my, Debby..Poor Dianne. Keeping the wound clean will be a major part of this..How horrible!! Praying for a speedy recovery for her.

William Inge, the playwright, is from here, and his 100th birthday would have been this
weekend, so they did a big tribute to his life/plays..Brett and I went and he really enjoyed it and got to see some of his favorite high school teachers there, which is always great.

Today is the "luncheon".. Of course, I will be there to assist a bit. At least I can have meat/cheese/veggies..

Thanks for praying! Dianne had her surgery in Vancouver. Her dd says she is doing OK right now. We're still praying.

I'm going back to my normal diet + a few things I learned from that plan. My system just gets too distressed. I'm going to continue with eating a bit more fruit than I was. Its been good for me, trying the different plans, to broaden my list of foods that work for me.

Its going to be 75 degrees here today! Whoo Hoo!
Hope your day goes super-duper good!

Judy - how's life in Branson??!! And what do you shoot?

I came home just so I could hear how the luncheon at Kansas Abbey unfurled!!

We had SUCH a nice short visit with those folks. I drove my MIL as far as our house, then sent her on her way to Okla. City. I'm sure she's absolutely fine. One other thing she said on our drive back - "Two fig trees guarded the gate to the chicken yard." Pretty soon I'm going to be able to say it with her word-for-word.

I was so distressed to hear, Debby, of your friend's accident and my prayers were joined with many others, I know. I do hope she is able to heal completely.
Your avi is very pretty!

MK - FANCY avi!
I don't really know what all the particulars are of our guns - we have .22s. I know every time DH buys a gun, it's for me . Then when I don't care for it, he gets another "for me". I need to find something I like and stick with it and really practice.
I liked Cindy's idea of getting something with an 8" barrel.

Unpacking.
Laundry.
Intend to watch Gosford Park....

Okay..Kansas Abbey luncheon went great..I went down there with 2 trusty serfs (men) who couldn't find the ice maker and didn't know how to make the powdered lemonade or open the cookie boxes. But, all is well..Lots of food left over. I gave some to the youth pastor/regular pastor and Brett and I took some as Dh had paid for it all, which is fine.
So, meat/cheese/veggies..No cooking for me or Brett.

Back on track this week..Had Chinese last night with Ds (Susie's place) and gained a pound. It was very good, but that was that.. Just did 30 minutes of Wii Fit..

Okay, Judy..pay really close attention to the ending of GP so you will understand it..Sometimes those "Brits" mumble a bit too much..LOL..and you have to listen up..
It is great, though..

Call the Midwife is on in a little while, then Mr. Selfridge, then some mystery gals..
Life is good..

So Kate and I are here at the house had an open house today and realtor seemed pleased.
We made breakfast for dinner in the big kitchen fun to be here wish we didnt need to sell but the job is in Montreal. Any way we could not find any black pudding on st George's day so we had it today with bacon and eggs today came in at 1700 cals 80 fat 16 protein 4 carbs.
Feel great having higher cals but will get stricter back in Quebec.

Ciao all............Jim

Carolyn glad the lunch went well!

Jim that seems like few calories for a man. And surely that 16g protein is a typo - I hope.
Said Judy who doesn't really know how many calories you should eat...
I hope the open house planted some seeds.
And I hope you've told your wife how much we like her.

Carolyn I loved Gosford Park.
And I watch anything British with closed captions. LOL
It was very very good and so touching....
Cindy thanks for recommending.
I could watch that upstairs/downstairs stuff every single day. Fascinating.

Carolyn one time DH and I stopped in Bartlesville for lunch on our way up to Independence. It was a Chinese restaurant and there was Susie and (now I can't remember - boy & girl?) her kids. We felt like traitors. Of course she just laughed.

We said - don't you want to eat any other kind of food? She said NO - Chinese people like to eat Chinese food. Her kids liked mostly only American food, though. She said they didn't eat very much because they didn't want to be fat. They must be out of high school by now... I really liked her.

I also watch all British films in CC! And all films where they mumble, lol. I love the surround sound features on our TVs but sometimes I think it makes the conversation track harder to hear. Or I could just be getting older and losing my hearing!

I had a big weekend! Back on the straight and narrow path today, for sure.

Oh good Jim - those were percentages. Thanks.

Sandy I have decided in the last 20 years movies have spent so much time on their background music and special effect noise, the spoken word is nearly lost.
And I often think I have supersonic hearing. My problem is I hear EVERYTHING.
And if the spoken word is muffled or less important than the other sounds, I'll just read it, thanks.

Hi gals..

What a great idea watching them with CC...LOL..Gary is trying to read the paper while
watching them, so I have to explain what happened and what they said....

Call the Midwife was sad last night...

Now, Jim..Do you like Montreal better than Ottawa? It is a world of difference culture-wise..There is another lady on the Playground here who is from Montreal, too..
My favorite Canadian city is Quebec City....LOVE that place..LOVE it..

Okay..Susie made me gain a pound, so I am working hard to lose it...I will have a big salad with leftover meats tonight. I also found Olive Garden Italian Dressing at Wallies..
Whopee...

Howdy folks

The day was absolutely gorgeous So wonderful!

I went to town today, walked everywhere... Checked in with my Dr. today. My thyroid is in normal zone again... a little over 1.1 now so I can go 2 months without a test now. Good thing, because I'm going to be gone till then.

Have a good sleep everyone! God bless!

Are you going on a long trip Deb? Nice numbers on your thyroid! And enjoy the great weather. We're having one day of it before the clouds and rain move in again.

I'm meeting friends for lunch today. It seems like forever since I've met them but it's only been 1 month. We meet every month but usually sneak in a couple extras but this month that hasn't happened. We'll all be talking a mile a minute to get all caught up, lol. Maybe we won't eat so much that way, lol.

We had a nice weekend in laurentian valley where our house is! My cousin BBQ last night oh it was good. I went up to the army base Canex (grocery store) and got steaks. They always have good prices on meat at the base and civilians are welcome to shop and use the sports complex at CFB Petawawa.

Well back to reality teaching in the sim W TH F.

Happy week all........j

Hi I'm a funny case I love both equal Montreal in the summer we live on the west island and we can take the bike trail all the way down to the old port it is always a fun day out. But I love going to the aviation museum in Ottawa and the RCMP musical ride stables are there and you can go watch the Mounties practice when they are not on the road and sometimes if you are lucky you can go in the stables and pet those beautiful horses.......just love it!

Quebec City is very nice the old city is always fun to walk around in and mount st Anne is a fabulous ski hill.

But I'm a displaced Toronto boy and Boston kicked our tushes last night so I'm a little sulky today

Thanks,
Yes, the furthest south will be Phoenix, AZ or maybe just into Mexico (dentists). Have family in AZ, UT, OR & WA. Looking forward to seeing them.
Thanks, yes I do feel better too. I think its finally regulating... hoping my adrenals will heal soon too, so I can stop taking isocort. But so thankful that I have it now!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

How long do you think you were out of whack with your thyroid? How long have you been treated so far?

Judy <--nosey (but also want to be aware...)

Have you read anything about a typical amount of time for adrenals to heal?

Did you see my post that I'd lived in Owen Sound for a couple of years when i was a kid?

I think that's about 120 miles from Toronto . . . On Georgian Bay.

Debbie - sounds like a really great trip!!!

Hi everyone..

Debbie...Sounds like a great trip..

Jim: I'm sure you moved around a bit..There is something to like in every place we live.

It is gorgeous here..Paid the taxes and registered the cars... Done..

Did 3 miles at the gym..

Gary has the 3 sizes of good work shirts..M, L, and XL..No one can fit in the mediums now...Brett can fit into the Larges, so I'm washing those up and he will have some nice
"new" shirts. If Dh loses some weight, he can buy his own Larges..I'm tired of having them around..LOL..

Merlin is like your grandchild, MKay..Gary told Brett that Alex is like a newborn with all
his "regulations"..Of course, Gary hasn't done anything for him yet..But, he will when
I leave for Lawrence...He can handle it.

On the adrenals, Judy..We had several ladies on the cruise last year that had bad adrenals and it didn't take them long to "heal" up once they were on the right protocol.

Another 4 wheeler accident in town..The teen was on Killer Hill..It had rained, and he broke several neck vertebrae. He is in Tulsa..Put screws and a rod in his back so hopefully he will be able to move more once the swelling goes down. He will be going to Craig Institute in CO for rehab..Middle school kid..So sad..

I found out a year ago that I had low thyroid, started treatment then, but it was synthroid... switched to natural thyroid in June (I think), and also started with the naturopath on the adrenal thing.
I've read that it "may" take a year, maybe more "IF" they are going to recover. Some people never get off adrenal help... those who have really damaged adrenals & also live in constant STRESS. I'll message you a bit more detail... don't want to bore the others.

Our power went out this morning (must of been an accident or something), so we were up for 90 minutes without power... built a little fire in my wood cook stove (since it was kind of chilly anyway). So I did get to have some hot coffee... Interesting way to start out the day.

Busy day at work. The pastors are all back.

Prayer Update - Dianne: Her DH says she is doing good, and no infection! PTL! Please keep praying for a speedy recovery, she wants to come home!
Its another gorgeous day here So beautiful!

Hope you're all havin good-uns!
