I love the new emoticon but think they named it incorrectly. I think it should stand for busy as a bee, not newbie?? I'm going to use it for busy bee instead.

Love the pics Debby!! I think Bailey and Shelby would be good friends.

Good camera work, Debby!!

Birthday dinner was a great success. On Thursday she will be 16 weeks and she really does look pregnant! She feels so much better now than she felt the 1st trimester. Her back is fine, her emotions are fine... all good.

Cute!

Hi..

Bailey was a farmgirl.. I'm sure there were tons of cats hanging out..doing their farm thing..LOL.

Your dinner sounded wonderful, Judy..I love carrot cake and ribs.. Glad she is feeling better..The "first" pregnancy doesn't show as much as the later ones cuz you still have
muscles..LOL

Shelby is an amazing mouser..Was she raised with cats, too?? i think our mouse has left the house..We can only hope.

Exercise, then reading..My little gal is having her First Communion the end of April, so I got her a darling bracelet and card. Honestly, I would take her home with me, she is so adorable.

Cindy: I didn't realize Pooter was toothless.. And the chase is the most fun ever..

Buffy...Yummm..sliders..Have fun with Grant.

Hugs all around..Time to hit the shower..

Thanks Judy,
DH took those photo's, but I did edit them to see her & mouse better.

Shelby's been around cats since birth, but she thinks they're for chasing. My poor kitty has to hide all the time. I believe she'd treat a cat the same as she did the mouse, except hopefully without killing it. Still trying to get her to make friends.

Hope you all have a good day!

Oh MK -

I'm sorry I didn't check in earlier, but I got my hair cut and colored.
As everyone except Jim will know - there is nothing in the world more important.

And then choir practice and then make buttoni's little zucchini donuts in my mini donut maker. BIG HIT.

Great texture. Can be sliced in half and toasted and topped with butter.
It's on the lupin flour thread, but I'll be happy to post the recipe if anyone is interested.

I think next time I'll bake them in my muffin top pan. These are something we could eat 2 times/week.
You know, until the next incredibly fabulous recipe comes along.

Hi ladies and Jim.

We have rain like most of you. Looks like a tornado hit in OK. Hope everyone is okay.

Yes, hair dye is crucial. I found a color I like from Avon. Dark brown. My gym owner sells it so it is convenient.

Is lupin flour worth ordering?? I need to check out the thread.

Off to shower.

Good morning,

Hope everyone & your families are all safe from the tragedies the last few days. God bless those suffering.

I need to get a regular Avon rep. I didn't even know they made hair color. What color do you use Carolyn?

Judy were you happy with your updated do?

I've come to the decision that my system just can't handle the extreme low carbs. Just don't know how to manage that one. Wt. likes my regular diet too, but I am continuing to eat some of the foods that I added with EFGT. So that's good.

Have a great day!

Debby - way to go on listening to your own body, but also that you were able to add some foods successfully. Sorting it all out is a long process, I guess!

My updated 'do' is 1" shorter, more blunt cut, and the grays are covered for another few weeks!

Morning

Still watching tv on the explosion of the fertilizer plant in the town of West, TX. This small town of about 2500 people is about 1 1/2 hours south of Dallas. Between that and the tragedy in Boston, a very sad week.

Where in OK were there tornados? I haven't seen much on the weather as our channels are full of the explosion.

Went to dinner club last night. 7 out of the 9 members were able to make it. One of our gals has MS and is on dr. Ordered bed rest right now. She is such a driven personality that it is really hard for her to slow down and take care of her disease, we all worry about her. The other absent member home sick with bronchitis and sinus infection.

Hi everyone. It looks like everyone is staying busy. Glad to see good results happening to Alex with all your loving care nurse Carolyn.

Judy I sure know the great feeling after a trip to the beauty shop. I feel like a new woman after my hair was cut back to where it needs to be.

Stay keeping it real and I'll be checking in once in a while.

Hi everyone..

Hi Sharon..Happy to see you.

Yes, Buffy..what a terrible thing that fertilizer plant explosion was..So sad for all the families and the town..I'm hoping it wasn't the fault of the "plant" and just a freaky accident.

Yes, on the Boston bomb, what a miracle that they have pictures of the guys (or they think they do) and the security camera was in place at Lord and Taylor. Hopefully, they can catch them..Haven't heard anything this a.m., but I heard they knew their names..???

Exercised, had a wonderful blended coffee drink for lunch..(not much sugar), so will
wait until my tummy growls before I eat some egg salad.

Have to babysit Jeremiah this afternoon..Brett's ex-gf's little boy, whom I love..His fingernail caught her in the eye this morning..She is on her way to the doctor's office.

Having meat sauce tonight over nooodles..or I might do Dreamfields..I can get that
all done before I go babysit..

And if we don't cook Dreamfields for too long a time do we think it's OK - doesn't raise our blood sugar?

Do you like those nooodles Carolyn? The one time I tried some of those type of noodles I didn't really care for them so now I'm afraid to try others.

D-fields does seem to raise BS a little bit but not like regular pasta. It seems to keep it from spiking, or at least that's what DH has found with him.

Carolyn, do you regularly check your BS levels. Could I ask what your fasting morning levels both before metformin and now after? I know it takes awhile to kick in but DH's morning bs is not getting much better, so far.

That's actually good for Texas right now... they said it will clean the ammonia from the explosion out... might not be good for the ground in the area it falls, but at least it won't spread in the atmosphere.

Sandy, before met it might be 100-110 and since I have been on 1500 met it is in the 90's or below. He might need more than 500, but he needs to start slow. It might take a month to see the difference.

Had fun with Jeremiah. We played dinosaurs. One of my favorite games.

Morning friends!

Was a cool, cloudy day yesterday and really chilly last night, I was worried about all my little flowers but it wasn't supposed to get below freezing. I planted them a little earlier than usual but it gets to horribly hot by July I wanted to be able to enjoy them a little longer.

Met some friends at the large casino about an hour north of us yesterday afternoon and evening. Used to go quite a bit and met some nice people there but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. Between the smoking and the noise level, I came home with a headache and woke up with one, don't need that at all.

Carolyn, you are such a nice person and to offer to babysit with Jeremiah was so nice of you. Yes, how old is he?

Today starts a busy, fun weekend. DD#3, DSIL and Grant are picking me up at 11:30, then they will drop me off at little Bobby's preschool where they are having special friends day. That goes until 2:00 when they will pick me up again and we will head to Austin where Grant has a baseball tournament this weekend. I will hang out at DS's house and we will make some of the games and I also am getting my hair cut on Saturday. We will be getting home Sunday night so DH will have to care for the cats here. I know by Monday I will be worn out but it will be fun.

Amazing, sad news still coming out of Boston, wow, so many hurt, dead, it is just so senseless.

Buffy, have a wonderful time! And please, listen to your body and try not to overdo.

Carolyn, thanks for the info. I'm thinking he might need a higher dose too but I told him you said to give it at least a month.

After so many days of rain and gloomy weather it's beautiful and sunny here this a.m. Still in the 30s and we did have a freeze last night, but the sunshine is nice I can forgive the cold, for a few hours at least, lol.

The birthday weight has left the bldg!!! Of course being a Friday morning I'll have to remain super vigilant this weekend or some of it might return for a short visit. We're meeting friends for dinner and drinks tonight, but it is at Bonefish, so I hopefully won't do too much damage. My fav thing there is the Bang Bang Shrimp. I made a copycat recipe this week at home and it's to die for!!! It's not really low carb, I don't think, but it was sure delicious and we just had salad with it.

I have been wondering about your headaches - are they something you still have every day? Or is it only sometimes now? Or hardly at all?

Jeremiah will be 2 in June. He is in the midst of being potty trained and is doing quite well..His poor mom has a patch on her eye to keep out any infection, but it should be off by Monday..She is in a wedding a week from Saturday..

Yeah for the birthday weight..Sandy...Bye bye.......there it goes....

Buffy: Have a fun weekend with your family..Sounds like a busy time, but a good time.

On the blood sugar information..My doctor told me that it takes 3 months for new cells to form..So, that is why AC1 tests are every three months. I'll be interested in following Sandy's dh on his blood sugar results..

Going to watch Gosford Park this afternoon.....Me and the cat..
