Hi..

Yes, Cindy is right..Calories do count.... Especially for women..around a certain age.

Judy: I think your arms got tired toward the end of the WSU game yesterday...Too bad they lost, but they are a great team.

Thanks for the pineapple cake recipe.. Dh is gone to Minnesota and other places for the week, so it is easy to be good when he is gone..

Saw ds for lunch today..He is much better..I think his tummy shrank and he couldn't eat as much today, which is a good thing..a very good thing.

Hugs all around..

So sorry I was unable to dance WSU to a win!

Hard way to lose weight, but most of us have done it - stomach shrinking due to bug.

Hope you are all having a great day.

I was so sorry WSU lost that game. IMHO, they deserved to win! But that's life, I guess. They sure don't have anything to be ashamed of, they played their hearts out.

DD fixed me a lovely dinner today so it's back to basics again tomorrow. DH did eat the SF pineapple cake instead of the sugary desserts so good for him!!

The babies were adorable today, as usual. I had the youngest one yesterday evening for about 5 hours and I was worn OUT by the time his daddy came to get him. He's teething and went through quite a little fussy spell which I'm just not used to anymore, lol.

Hi
Yeah, I'm not losing wt. and not gaining, which is awesome, because I haven't eaten salt for decades & I'm eating it.

Today we went out for lunch at a breakfast smorgasbord. I have finally gone over on my daily allotment for salt! That's a first! Will see how the scale acts tomorrow. Still under in calories, so pretty happy about that.

Feeling real good. Hope you all are too. We had snow again today... I was wishing everyone merry Christmas

I am 5'7" but have a small frame. I used to limit myself to 1500 but it is closer to 1700-1800 (or more!) in warmer weather as I am more active.

Oh Cindy, you're blessed! So tall! I'm 5'4" - so I normally keep my calories around 1300-1400 calories on my normal diet. With this EFGT I've been averaging 1600 calories (not trying to lose wt). Although today, with all the salty stuff I kept it down to 1300 today & I am STUFFED! Would imagine the water retention will show up tomorrow for sure, but that was over-kill today.

Good morning...

Nice warm Spring day with a little rain..Dh is in Minnesota.A bit cooler up there as the ponds are still frozen..(like Debby Land).

I think it is nice when we feel stuffed..Now, I actually stop eating when I am feeling full.
And, I do feel full faster. In the olden days, I would finish my plate and this was not good..And, on Sunday nights I just nibble a little bit of food cuz lunch was usually "out"..

Anyone watching Mr. Selfridge? It is pretty good..He was a bad boy..but very creative when it came to shopping..It is interesting how that all evolved..

Isn't funny how salt is an appetite killer. For me so is hot, spicy stuff.

Carolyn, how is Alex doing?

Oh you all! Good morning! Having a nice visit. Made Chicken Lady's carrot cake (8x8) and it is astounding how good it is. Not sure how I'll be doing by the end of the trip. It's not a struggle, but sometimes the foods that are offered have been slaved-over and it would be rude to refuse. Just a bite or two and I don't worry about it after that.

Will check in later - we're headed up this morning to Columbia, MO.

Wave as you go by Judy!! Although, you probably won't head north until you're past the hwy that would lead you by KC. Oh well, have a great time. I'm going to have to go hunt down that recipe. My whole family loves carrot cake. We all use the recipe my mom always used, which is so far from low carb it's not even funny! Of course.

Morning
I am watching Mr. Selfridge, don't love it yet, but liked it better this week so may get hooked. Love the store! Call the Midwives was good as always.

Judy, we have relatives in Columbia, such a small world.

Looks like we are going to have a very nice week, I will get the rest of my containers on the patio planted. Wanting some more but yikes, they are pricey!

Good morning! Happy Monday!

Well, my eyes looked like a blow fish this morning. But they're going down already. Weight was amazingly the same! So weird! Anyway, DH & I are thrilled. This really is going to work for traveling. Its definitely getting me over the hump with adding salt.

Yep, lakes are all frozen, but the river is flowing again, albeit with ice banks. We're supposed to have a warmer week now too, in the 40's.

Busy day ahead for me... try Dr again, and lots of errands after work... then a birthday party tonight. Ah, how to fit in my exercise? I will!

Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone..

Thanks for popping in Sharon..

Sorry your eyes are bulging, Debby..Have fun at your party.

Yes, Buffy, time for plants..Last summer outside watering was cut off in the middle of the summer..But, now they say we can water until they say we can't..LOL.

Alex is doing well..He had a 12 hour run last night, an 8 hour one today and he is doing well right now. Still on insulin, but supposedly, the "runs" (between shots) will get longer as his little pancreas heals. He has had "healing numbers" for about 3 full weeks, so you hope something is happening in that little body of his..His actions are more normal, so he feels better. Thanks for asking..

No exercise today..I need to get out the Wii-Fit..

Columbia?? I'm lost! Have fun!

Thanks Carolyn,
My eyes are ok now... see big groves from my socks now, but at least I can still wear my ring, so I'm not too worried. I enjoyed some black olives with my egg & cheese snack today... All kinds of things I wouldn't touch for years! Avoided bacon today though.

Hi!

Exercised this morning, went to the pharmacy, mailed a package, and went to Kroger.

I emptied the refrigerator and cleaned it out ~ got rid of lots of expired stuff and it looks so much nicer in there!
I need to do the freezer tomorrow!
I've cleaned 2 windows too and pulled the screens down.

Baby steps!

I walked this afternoon, ate dinner and survived another day without DH!
He's enjoying Boston!

I am in Columbia, MO visiting DH's aunt Idabelle, age 98 or 99. We visited her 7 years ago. I am not exaggerating - I can tell no difference in her body, her mind, her sense of humor, her compassion. She is a jewel.

She is more insistent that we just "enjoy life" "enjoy each other." She lives in a retirement home, but not assisted living. Her only pain, I think, is spinal stenosis, so she does not travel anymore, but she still walks (wisely uses a little wheeled walker) and has lunch and dinner (excuse me - dinner and supper ) with different groups of friends each day. And with us tonight! At 5:30! (DH is out right now looking for a hamburger! HA HA!)

Her son, DH's cousin surprised us by arriving when we thought he wouldn't be able to. He had a torn ligament in his shoulder. Today they removed stem cells from somewhere nearer the base of his spine, did some kind of centrifugal thing and mixed the cells with some kind of gel and injected those into his shoulder. It's still called "experimental" so he had to pay for it, not insurance, but he thought it was worth a try rather than the operation where he'd be in a sling for months (sounds more like a rotator cuff but he says no - ligament ).

Now where's my flying car???

MK I have lunch dates with all your nieces and nephews tomorrow. Can't wait!

Our son made me remember why I finally got a smart phone. He emailed the ultrasound they had today. My grandchild was moving around and everything looked great (this is the DIL who miscarried last year). Of course they wait for us to leave town...

My DH's favorite aunt Celia (whose home we have just left) is 77 and I felt like we were close enough in age to be friends - not aunt and niece. She kept saying, "you're being so 'good'" regarding my eating. I have not felt deprived as I have carrot cake, Carolyn from All Day I Dream About Food's peanut butter cups (I was lazy and put them in the bottom of an 8x8 and poured the chocolate on top, then cut after chilling - you all, these are so good...) and my own "bread", and blueberry scones! I am missing absolutely nothing except the feeling that I'm quickly killing myself eating all the wrong things on 'vacation'.

to all!

Obviously I can't get off the internet now that I can finally get on!
I agree - MK has been productive and it is motivating to hear others doing things that need doing.

MK you mentioned winter was a weight-gaining time and maybe spring/summer a weight-losing time.... I am that way productivity-wise. I want to hibernate in winter - not even eat - but I want no projects. Spring makes me want to clean up and fix up!

Good morning.

Jim. Waiting for your weigh-in results. Hope you get a good number.

So glad you are enjoying your aunt/cousin, Judy. I think people in their 90's can be amazing.

MK my Dh will be in Boston on Wed. I love Boston. That is where I went to school and worked for a while.

Heading to exercise after Alex gets his morning shot. I have to wait until his blood sugar rises to 150 before I can give it.

Looks like storms today.

Anyone glad Louisville won ?? It was a good game.

Hugs all around.

Mine will still be there until Thursday!! Think they'll want to get together for lunch? Take a picture together?!

If your DH is staying in Copley Square . . . . .

Hope everyone is having a great day!
But like Judy, if I don't get off here, I'll never get anything else done!

Hugs everyone!!

Now you know what you can eat to maintain.

Just take some food/calories out and you'll start losing! Good job!
