Hi girls,
I had another day off today, but dh didn't, so was able to get to the taxes... still gathering them together... kind of hit a wall can't think of what I need now... maybe its ready... guess I'll just go ahead & make the appointment. I wish it wasn't such a downer for me... found I was hungrier from the frustration feeling. oh well...

Looking forward to work tomorrow!! Silly me, I like "regular routine" much better!!

Hope y'all had good days!

Love the shoes! Been a couple of weeks since I posted. Doing well fluctuating between 128-130 right now and want to eventually get to 120. We are going to have our first nice weekend for weather coming up! Finish my yard work and take my toy poodle to agility and obedience practice! May even bake up some low carb treats for the gang. They always eat them even if they say they aren't into low carb. https://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/i...smile_2011.GIF

Hi gang.
Feel better now that I am rested up again. Whew, can't believe how worn out I was when company left after having done so little!

MK, love those shoes and comfort comes first, middle and last for me,these days.

I think we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain today and tomorrow, got 2 inches over the weekend. I picked up 3 new plants on Sat. that I need to run out and get in the ground before it starts.

The chicken dish sounds quite interesting.

Have a cardiologist appt this afternoon to go over my meds, which I have been adjusting on my own, BP staying low so hope to lower one of them yet again. Have been off the one I think was causing lots,of problems for 3 days now, replaced it with my old beta blocker and think I can tell a difference, too soon yet to know for sure. Sigh!

Love all the chatter that has been on

to all - doing taxes to give to the accountant.

Then must cook and cook so I'll have things to take with us on our little trip to see relatives. I'm going to take some lupin bread and some drop scones (blueberry) and some peanut butter/chocolate candy (I think my mother might make that for me). If I have my own treats, I know I'll be all right. We'll be staying in relatives' homes, so... don't want to be too difficult.

Well, I don't want to be anymore difficult than usual!

Hi everyone..

Hi CJ...nice to see you again.

It is always best to take your own food to your relatives..Good girl, Judy..

Dh got the taxes to the accountant a week ago. We always have to pay, so we aren't in a hurry to get them back..LOLOL..

Buffy: I like that you are self-medicating..No kidding..It's a good thing we are all "with it" on our meds. Good luck at your handsome doctor's appointment today.

Judy, so smart to take some treats with you. I find that I can say no to lots of things i shouldn't eat if I know that I have a treat of my own to look forward to, even if you keep it hidden away for little secret bites

Had to borrow DHs phone so while I had it, I changed his boring wallpaper to a picture of our pretty girl cat Ashley. Waiting for him to call when he sees it and tries to figure out how it got on there . He is very tech challenged

Hope seeing Dr. Very Handsome doesn't raise BP

lizzie! Lots of help here if you want it - glad to have you!
Lots of us are on slightly different eating plans, so if you start wondering who is eating what, don't worry. We just like each other!

MK it feels like "everything will be OK" if I have my own food. And I'm also telling myself heck if everything is off my plan - nearly everyone keeps eggs.

I wonder how the Dr. Very Handsome appointment went?

You'd think she'd check in by now . . . she knows we're drooling to find out . . . . I mean we're VERY concerned with her well-being!

And I agree.
I even make sure I have a vegan dessert so I don't feel deprived when I can't/don't eat the pie!

Is anybody watching Mr Selfridge? I watched half the first episode and I think I like it!!

I had a great lunch with friends today. I'm so thankful for my friends and our long lunches. We all had some catching up to do.

Rain is heading our way. It was nice today, just a little chilly.

Dentist tomorrow morning and then my dad is taking me out to lunch for my birthday. This is another one of those birthdays that just keeps on going, lol. I really get a lot of mileage out of my birthdays!!

Buffy, yoohooooo, where are you????

Someone spoke about Mr. Selfridge earlier - possibly the missing Buffy and MK. I want to like something new! Glad you all talk about such things.

Hi girls,

Hope you had a good day. I did. I'm going for higher fat today, as I've been getting "hungry" & don't like it. It helped a lot.

We enjoyed artichokes again tonight. Major treat for us (way up north).

Lizzie Happy to have you here. Hope you have real success. You will certainly get lots of recipes here!

Have a good evening!

Just came to my senses after "swooning" all night over Dr. Handsome. Hmmm, wonder if he would think I was strange to take his picture, although he may get asked that a lot, he is quite handsome . Oh, and talk about a good "bedside" personality, we could only wish it were bedside .
Had a great visit with him. He agreed that as I hadn't adjusted to the beta blocker bystolic by now, it was best to go off it. I had suggested substituting with another beta blocker but he said since I was doing so well that we would try weaning me off beta blockers in the next 2 weeks and see if the other 2 BP meds would take care of the BP!! So happy to think I might get it down to 2 meds instead of 3-4. He also thinks that getting the nerve block for my occipital neuralgia and stopping that constant pain has helped bring the BP down as well. So, we will continue to monitor and work on it.
So, the mini series of Buffy the Head Case continues........Stay tuned for future episodes.

Lizzie and any newcomers. If you are looking for a friendly group to hand out with and report on your WOE, you are in the right spot!!

Call the midwives is a great series too. Although, for those who watched Sunday night, did anyone catch where Molly was going or why she left her 2 little ones alone before the tragedy? I sure didn't and my cousin didn't either.

I fell asleep during Mr. Selfridge and for some reason, it didn't tape, so I need to go hunting and find it so I can catch up. Sometimes it takes me 2-3 episodes to know if I am going to get hooked or not.

A girlfriend is picking me up at 10:45 to go get pedicures, MUCH NEEDED, and then we are going to lunch. Looks like rain here today.

You gals are so much fun, and make me every day, you all

I also love artichokes but I've never prepared them.

Years ago I went to visit a friend in Abilene, TX. She had prepared artichokes for a first or second course, with lemon butter for dipping. That was the first time I'd ever eaten them. Her 6-yr-old daughter explained to me the parts I could eat and the parts I shouldn't. Happy memory!

Buffy you're keeping Dr. Very Handsome all to yourself!! I bet when you see him next he'll be quite flattered at your online friends being so curious and that's the only reason you need to snap his picture. That we need to see him to be able to appreciate his top-notch doctoring skills.

Good morning..

Now I want artichokes.. The real ones are the bestest off all....Truly..Next trip to Wallie World..

Glad Dr. Handsome is working with you..He sounds like he knows his stuff, which is really important.. The less meds, the better, I think.

Yes, I want to see Mr. Selfridge, too..Maybe will watch it Sunday..
My kids both love Arrested Development on Netflix..

Gosh, we still need rain here..Our pond is almost full, but we had such a deficit from last summer..No floods, though..

Exercised, then got a breve from the Coffee Shop..I'm sure there are about 400 calories in it from the half and half, but it is soooo wonderful...

Laundry, then go to the church library to put away books, then the town library to check out some audio books.
