Question about percentages
great forum here. I have learned so much. One question I have is how do you calculate percentages? Do you take the carbs, proteins, and fat, and add the total grams and divide by each part? Or do you use the calories obtained from each of those parts? thanks

It is much easier to get an online food tracker which will do it for you.
You have to know the component of each food, say a 3 ounce chicken breast. You look it up and find it is, say 21 grams of protein and 4 grams of fat.
81 calories of protein and 16 calories of fat for a total of 146 calories. From that you can figure the percentages for that food. 83 percent protein and 17'percent fat. It is much easier to use an online device, but this is the general idea.
