The Dr. Gave me the nerve block today, tiny little needle, no different than a regular shot. Took one of the new pills as soon as I got home and later, when I tried to read the paper, fell asleep. Arghhh, hope he is right that sleepiness will wear off soon. Have had a mild headache still but haven't taken anything for it, will see how it goes.
Yes, Alex is like Grant, lots of adjustments. |

I'm up early waiting for my youngest DGGS to arrive. He got his shots the other day and is running a fever so he can't go to daycare. I sure hope I can make it all day with him. I'll try to rest/nap when he does. I haven't kept him for about 3 months now so I don't really know what to expect. He used to want to be held ALL the time, so we'll see. If so, I'll be one worn out great-grandma by evening, lol.

Good luck today Sandy!!!! What a lucky little boy.
How old is DGGS? Buffy I wonder how you slept last night after your nerve block and new pill? Carolyn I hope nothing weird happened overnight with Alex and insulin.... With DH type 1, sometimes the nights/mornings can be the weirdest...with lows... He's eating more and more like I am and is constantly adjusting his insulin to the lower. Good morning to all! ![]() |

Morning!
I slept very very well, in parts to the new pill I assume. I hope the side effect of sleepiness does wear off soon, I don't need anything else to make me feel any lazier than I already do. Sandy, hoping your GGS likes to be rocked and you have a recliner, Ollie and I have enjoyed several co-naps in theirs. Interesting, when I told the Dr. where my headaches were located, he said the neuralgia pain should not be in front behind and above my eye, just in the back of my head. Well, the pain in the back of my head is gone but I still have some in the front area??? ![]() Did I have 3 types of headaches going on and we have solved 2 of them? I don't know but it is better and I will give it the full 3 weeks until I am supposed to see him again to discuss it with him and to see how this shot and the meds work. Sandy, thanks for the link to the perfect HB eggs on FB, I am going to PM you my email. I believe I am friends with Sandy, MK and Carolyn on FB, are any of the rest of you on FB? If so, I will PM you so that if you would like, we could become friends there as well. I love it as I get to see some great family pictures of my dear friends here on FB. Grant will be riding his bike over later, or calling me to come pick him up, whenever he decides he would like to come over. Another, pretty sunny day here.

No headache so far today except for that one little annoying spot over my right eye. I can live with that, or, maybe eventually I will get them all resolved!

Hi ladies..
Did some exercising, ran errands..Starting baked potato soup for a meeting tomorrow night. I hope it will be okay to make it today and warm it up and serve it tomorrow..I won't have any, but I might eat the skins tonight for dinner..LOL.. Alex's bsugar was 400 this morning, but yesterday he only had one dose in the a.m. and two doses in the p.m. Today is 2 doses in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m., so I will call the vet in the a.m. if it is still high. It is supposed to be under 200 when we test. Ugh is right.. Sandy...oh hope your baby is letting you take it easy..It's hard being a sick ggma, but he has a safe place to be.. Buffy: yeah, praying that annoying spot will disappear... Need to try those eggs today as soon as my taters get done..

Grant has been obsessed with geography since he was a tiny little toddler. He first favorite gift was an atlas from his Grandma. It is the Aspergers in him. So, for the past year, he has been planning several family trips, down to the last minute detail I might add. So much of their vacation time is used up with visiting my son in laws family in Canada, which is great, they all enjoy that, but, it leaves little or no time for any other family trips. And, Grant is going into high school this fall, I so wanted them to take one of these trips he has planned. I told them how lucky that he planned them and they were the ones he wanted to do with. Well, this past weekend, they bought a nicer, bigger pop up tent trailer and are going on one of his trips this summer. I am so excited for them and him. I am sure he will tell me all about it when he comes over.

Buffy, great news that your headache is gone. Hopefully the sleepiness doesn't last too long.
Sandy, give your little GGS a kiss from me. Babies are so uncomfortable when they don't feel well. Carolyn, Alex has a good mommy taking care of him now. What a beautiful cat. Judy, Dh is on his last box frame today. He has this project well under control. Next we will be shopping for the plants. Should be in the 80's again today. We had lunch on our deck yesterday. Looks like we will be doing that again today. I made some full fat yogurt yesterday to have for a treat today. Enjoy your day!

Oh... I have a FB page but I go weeks without checking it.
Buffy how neat about Grant's family taking one of "his" vacations! That warms my heart. I sure hope that nerve block is the answer - at least to one of the 3 headaches, for heaven's sake! Sharon you sound like you're in paradise - how hot does it get in July & August where you are? Gosh, Alex is very lucky to have you Carolyn. If 400 is as uncomfortable for him as for a human - it's uncomfortable! So glad you all are helping him. More tidying today - a little cooking, I hope...choir practice tonight.

Just browned some chunks of beef steak, then dumped in cans of corn, beans, etc. and liquid to make a beef soup. About as much cooking as I want to do today.
Judy, I hardly post anything much on FB except to share pictures of things I like that other people have posted, I am very fond of pet photos and jokes. I like FB very much to keep up with extended family that I would never hear from of know much about. It is great that way. |

I whipped up a pot of pumpkin sausage soup today while the baby was napping. It smells scrumptious!
My DFIL was placed on hospice care today. He wasn't even able to swallow this morning. I pray when the time comes, that he passes peacefully. |

Sandy, dear, two things:
1. Do you have a recipe I could use please please please? SO love pumpkin soup!! 2. I am so very sorry to hear about your DFIL. It seemed to be heading that direction. I will pray for his comfort while he's still here, and for you and your DH's peace, too. ![]() |

Thank you Judy. That truly means a lot to us.
![]() I do not remember the origin of this recipe. I do know I didn't invent it. Here's the recipe: PUMPKIN AND SAUSAGE SOUP 1 pound pork sausage (I've used breakfast sausage and Italian sausage, so your choice) 1/2 cup onion, chopped, 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped, 1 clove garlic, minced 15 ounce can pumpkin 4 cups chicken broth 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup water Salt and pepper, to taste In a large pot, brown the sausage along with the onion, mushrooms and garlic; drain fat. Add the pumpkin and broth. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes. Add the cream and water; simmer 10-15 minutes longer. Adjust seasoning. Makes 8 cups or 8 servings Can be frozen enjoy!!

Hi ladies.
Oh, Sandy your poor FIL. Gary's mom had the same thing. Yes, I will concur with Judy's prayer for peace. I made the eggs. They were perfect. There was a little brown mark on each egg where it touched the pan. No headaches is great!!!!! I microwaved the baked potato skins with butter and cheese. Then plopped some sour cream on them. Felt like I was cheating. Lol I might have been. |

I had that little brown spot on some of my eggs but not all?? I might post a question on her blog asking her if she's had that happen. They still tasted great though. I made egg salad for lunch and really enjoyed it.
I'm with you guys! Love getting new FB friends. I'm like Buffy though; I read more than I post and "like" things quite a bit. I mainly joined so I could see everybody's pics, especially the grandchildren. |
