Hi
Sounds like you're cooking away.

I did some cooking myself today. Decided to make sweet potato fries in the toaster, (in coconut oil).. they were yummy! Boy am I full now though.

Hope the snow storms stop & everyone has a good evening!

Debby....Sweet potato fries!!! Did you use real taters or the frozen ones???

Alex is doing wonderfully on this TR protocol for kitties. He just had 2 eleven hour runs with one shot of insulin each time. So, that means his pancreas/liver are healing well and kicking in. I am so happy. It has been one week today he started it. Now I have to set my
alarm for 1:30 to make sure he isn't going too low. It's like having a newborn.

Are you going some place fun for vacation Cindy?

Carolyn, that's great news about Alex! I'm happy for him and for you.

Errands today. At least the sun is shining. Then I have bunco tonight at a friend's house. I'm not sure I'm in the mood but that might be from being inside too much lately.

My DD decided we're going out for Easter brunch too. I wish it was to Fogo de Chao where the meat is so plentiful but it's at a place where the carbs are plentiful instead. So I'll try to stick to eggs, bacon, etc. Which makes for a very expensive egg breakfast, lol. Oh well, it's not often that we do this.

I cut up half of one... not peeled...coated or rolled in coconut oil... takes a lot longer to bake in the toaster-oven than regular potato does (learning curve). It was a bit too much carb for me, I think.

Back from swimming and gave a little blood to see where my FT3 & T4 & homocysteine, etc. are...

Today I'll make a couple of little cakes. My mother and sister and I are going to visit a part of my mom's family who live on the old farm. They have chickens and lambs and goats, and come to think of it I think it's still a dairy farm. Anyway - they are lovely people and have lots of children they home-school (both parents majored in education in college ). My mother has been baking since yesterday - high carb cupcakes (with an Easter theme, no doubt), so I'll take something my SS (skinny sister) and I can eat, too.

Sandy I've thought about how much I have loved extravagant brunches in my life. It's the whole package for me - eggs benedict, all kinds of breakfast meats, breads of all type and description, cakes, waffles, all kinds of fruit and asparagus.... Have fun.

Carolyn it sounds like Alex is getting better so quickly! What a wonderful thing to have accomplished! I'm glad you liked those biscuits. They are good - that's just a great "flour" mixture.

Debby - Carolyn's avi is the kitty version of Inspector Hercule Poirot - an Agatha Christie character! I used to read.....

We will be at church for Easter and then I bet we will throw some kind of stone soup lunch together afterward - the crowds are not as easy to negotiate these days. I need to find my friends with a country club membership!

Morning dear friends!
Lots of great biscuit making going on, makes me hungry!

Carolyn, I am just blown away by your new low weight! The metformin, your new doctor AND how good you are at sticking to your WOE have really pulled together for you. We are so proud of you and happy for you. And happy little Alex is doing do well.

MK, saw all your snow talk on FB, wow, you really are having March madness!

Chilly but pretty and sunny here. I like it to stay chilly as late as possible here to make our blistering hot summer seem a little shorter.

Had a good day yesterday, had a little energy and barely a headache. It was so wonderful to feel that way. Today is not going to be that good but at least if I get a day like that, I know things are improving. I think all of the anti-seizure drug is out of my system now, boy, that one really made things worse.

Have a long overdue appt. with my eye Dr. today for a checkup. They quit sending out cards as reminders so I need to put a reminder on my calendar for a year from now.

Ollie and his parent's are coming up for Easter day and Grant's parents will be here. Not sure what we are doing on food yet, it is hard to go out with the crowds.

Hi ladies..

Yes, I am amazed at the weight loss and basically I'm just "watching" it and taking my metformin, which is a miracle drug for sure..

Sandy: Live it up..and add lots of cheese.. I know what you mean about brunches are expensive when you only have the LCy stuff...But, it is so much better for you..Maybe they will have strawberries..

My Alex is a white/tan cat..I need to get another picture of the patient..LOL..He is doing great..I don't poke his ear so much, so I think he is happy about that..Ya think???

Exercised..Had a cookies and cream Atkins bar with my coffee in the car..I always look for the lowest SA's..on those..Hopefully, during Bible Study things won't happen...OR, I could take an immodium for preventive maintenance..LOL.

Buffy: Eating home is easier with little ones..And, you can make it simple..My mom used to do cold buffets for Christmas..ham/salads/ etc..Things she did ahead. Then
there was always the two layer green and red poke cake..LOL..which is really good..

Debby: I think if I bought some of the frozen ones, I could dole out 4 per person per meal..LOL

Yes, Cindy..this is an amazing protocol and Alex is having good results..Of course, his mom is pretty regulated with this system..I work my "day" around his shots..

Downton Abbey Alert!

The new man for Mary is Lord Gillingham played by Tom Cullen.
Turns out he's known Mary since childhood.

But he may find himself a love rival in the form of dashing aristocrat Charles Blake, played by Smash star Julian Ovenden.

Other new additions to the cast include EastEnders star Nigel Harman, who is playing a valet named Green, and Dame Harriet Walter, who is taking the role of as Lady Shackleton, an old friend of the Dowager.

Joanne David will make a guest appearance as the Duchess of Yeovil while Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will cameo as a soprano set to sing during her visit to the house.

And Shirley MacLaine will return for at least one episode.

Oh my MK, exciting things ahead at Downton!!

Since I "rest" a lot these days, have plowed through some great tv series. House of Cards being one of my favorites. Have also watched Game of Thrones and am now almost at the end of the 2nd season of Homeland, very good. I have finally watched tv enough to "learn" all about my apple tv, Netflix, video on demand, wish I could get paid to watch all this, I would be fully employed again!!!

Me too Judy, and, I have reduced my Bystolic from 40mg each morning to now 20mg each bedtime. BP doing fine on lower dose. Nurse friends thinks that getting rid of a lot of the pain has allowed my BP to drop some as well. The Buffy puzzle!

Thanks, Mary Kay..I vote for #1 in Mary's love life..I love "headsups"...

Buffy: Have you watched Bernie on Netflix?? Honestly, the funniest movie ever, especially if you are from Texas..Jack Black is in it.

I'm watching Campion now..Love those English mysteries.. Me and Poirot..Maybe I like them because they are always having tea..

New recipe tomorrow night..Shredded cabbage/cooked ground chicken/onion/green pepper/cream of chicken soup/sour cream/cheese..Let you guys know how it is. The original recipe called for tomato sauce, but I think a creamy sauce would be better..

And I loved House of Cards, Buffy. And I'd love to get paid for watching TV. I might become a millionaire!! Lol.

I won my money back at bunco tonight so it was a free, fun time with friends.

Carolyn, yes, I think allergies are already hitting here too. I just didn't know from what. Ugh.

Good morning

I was up at 3:30 for blood testing but went back
To sleep which is always good. However you can get a lot done when no one is up, right MK?

It seems as though allergies around here are worse and worse. Maybe we
all need to visit the beach??

Hair appointment this morning. Thought I would exercise first then decided I don't have time.. Will do it later after I come back for Alex's morning shot.

MK, is Illinois still in the NCAa?? We have
2 teams still in. WSU and KU. Hoping for the best.

Better hop in the shower.

Oh excited for Downton Abbey news!
I have to sit on the sidelines (for now) with other movies and TV.
OH - I SAY that - somehow I watched 3 episodes of the Walking Dead - stayed up way too late for our trip yesterday.... I regret nothing! LOL
