Good morning.

Re our "Downton" theme. It is a show
many of us watch and wait for all week. The characters are amazing so since we are amazing, too, we each picked one for our avatars. Plus they are all in great shape!!

One pound down on my scale for this month. I'm in the forties for sure. It is a great feeling.

Any exciting plans this weekend?? Nothing for me.

Cindy, that is the perfect weight for you, isn't it??

Cindy and Sandy, have wonderful trips.

Carolyn thank you for the new thread and many congrats on your weight loss!
Cindy and Sandy DO have fun on your trips!

My exciting plans, as you probably know, are to be with my cute, smart 84-yr-old mom until she's all better. Running off to the hospital here in a minute.

Have a great day, friends!

Nov 1-144 (with my high weight for the month being 146.8 and my low being 141.4)
Dec 1-141.4 (high 147.2 the day after Thanksgiving and my low being 141.4)
Jan 1-144.2 (high of 144.8 and low of 141.2, so still maintaining within my window)
Feb 1 – 143.8 (high of 144.8 and low of 140.2, maintaining well. Now to tackle 2 weeks of vacation!! Yikes!!
I can certainly bounce a lot within that 5# can't I? I feel like Mitch Miller's little bouncing ball sometimes. Anybody remember him?

Judy, praying for your mother. Poor thing. I pray they'll get her back on her feet in no time. Thank goodness she has her DDs. I always feel so sorry for the elderly people who have no advocates. They really seem to get railroaded or overlooked much of the time.

Busy day today with all the last minute packing. I'm always so worried I'm going to forget something important and I don't think I ever have, lol. I used to have nightmares before we traveled much that we'd get to the airport and have left either our tickets or our passports at home! We've actually seen people show up without their passports and leave the airport and go home and get them and make it back in time to board their flight!!! I guess that's a pretty good reason for getting there early.
The car service is picking us up at 4:30 in the a.m. so we really need to get to bed early tonight. And it seems like that's always impossible!

You all are doing so well in maintaining and over all weight loss. Wish I could say the same but still bouncing around the same 2 or 3 pounds. I am a persistent woman tho and don't plan on changing back to the lower fat. Time will tell on what my body wants to do.

Have fun on your trips Cindy and Sandy.

Judy glad to see your Mom is now comfy and in good hands.

to drive back to his office..He never did that again.

Yes, I remember Mitch..but I do think weight does bounce..and it can only be a "water thing", too..

You all and your wonderful weight losses - Sharon I've been bouncing lately and not losing, so I'll take a page out of your book and say I'm just going to keep going!

No gains - just about the same.

My cute, smart mother is doing just great. Evidently the cure for pancreatitis is starvation - nothing by mouth. Nothing. And after all the hoopla yesterday, she was kind of sleepy here and there, so she didn't walk around as much as maybe she should have.

She's got a potassium drip and later they added glucose to it. She is really hungry, but it doesn't matter. They have to keep her gut empty so her pancreas can settle down.

She has to pass gas before they'll consider giving her any liquid, then jell-o, then meal, etc. And that hasn't happened, so we'll walk with her more tomorrow. She honestly feels just fine though.

Take care all you travelers!
So many thanks for the prayers and thoughts - I think it's working because my mom is just grand.

Good morning..

Oh..starvation doesn't sound like a "cure", but it is cheap, except in the hospital. Hopefully, she will get things moving today, Judy, so she get some jello....hello..

Sandy is up and away already..She will have a great time..and Cindy leaves later on..
Happy times for both..

Ladies' Ministry meeting this morning..A Saturday???? Anyway..that's fine.

Dh has a little work around the house today..and I have to do some cleaning afterwards..

I had an Angus Burger yesterday at McD's..no bun. It was about 500 calories without
the bun.. So needless to say, I was very full all afternoon..

We all bounce as MKay says...It's water, it's hormones, it's taco chips (in my case)..LOL

Have a great Saturday everyone..

You know what I've never stopped eating like SB. It's such a balanced way to eat. All I have done is not eat so much grains and added the higher fat. I like to have a bowl of blueberries with some high fat greek yogurt in the afternoon on rare occasion a slice of whole grain toast with my egg in the morning so aside from adding the fat it's still SB.

Well Judy if I didn't have so much to lose to get back to where I was before I started over eating at night I would be ok with what's happening. But and that's a big BUT I'm having way too much pain in my knee and lower back because of the added bulk. When I was under 200 I didn't have any pain.

My mother is home!
Her neat doctor decided ALL her numbers were perfect this morning, so he fed her eggs, offered her sausage and no toast! Her choice for a lunch was chicken salad with a couple of crackers, but also no bread. I wonder if they are enlightened???

Anyway, she had no repercussions and she is home and GLAD to be there, as are her daughters. We're all exhausted! HA HA!

I'm in my pajamas watching Downton Abbey and now I love my avatar!!
I'm only on the second show of the first season and love it.

Sharon I am not a fan at all of pain. It could even motivate me to lose weight!

Carolyn that makes me want an angus burger. My SS (skinny sister) and I have enjoyed eating out, but I have definitely eaten more calories - still all low carb, but she and I had a salad bar, plus we split two giant appetizers - guacamole and spinach artichoke dip - ate them both with a fork. SO good and a fun way to treat ourselves without going off plan.

Debby what a beautiful piece of evidence, I mean what a beautiful picture!!! You look lovely!

Hello to all!
Now back to my real work - catching up on DA so I can chat with you all!

Hi ladies..

Oh..I just made a pecan/chocolate torte in an 8 in square pan..Very nommie..I'll give you the recipe. Honestly, it says it serves 8, well, that would be huge, huge pieces. So, you
can probably get 12 pieces out of it and fewer calories..

Glad your mom is home..and eating well..no carbs to aggravate that pancreas...

Where is your coat, Debby? You look wonderful..and very athletic..

So glad our Buffy checked in..We need to get her a picture..Maybe Monday if her relatives leave.

I'm sure Mrs. Patamar would make this for the Crawley family..with raved reviews..

Chocopecan Torte

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

2 cups pecans (in response to one of the comments, don't use salted pecans!)
1/3 cup cocoa
1 t baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1/2 cup (I stick) butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup erythritol (optional)
Artificial sweetener equivalent to 1 cup sugar I use zero-carb liquid sweeteners .
1/2 cup water
Preparation:

Heat oven to 350 F. Grease a 8 or 9" round pan or springform pan.

1) Process pecans in food processor - pulse until they are meal - but they won't get quite as small as corn meal.

2) Add the rest of the dry ingredients and pulse again. (Note on erythritol: You can do this recipe with all artificial sweetener, but I've begun experimenting with partial erythritol, with success. I haven't tested all different combinations yet, though - it may be that more erythritol is even better.)

3) Add the wet ingredients and process until well-blended.

4) Pour into pan and bake. The exact time will vary with the pan. Start checking at about 25 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

5) Cut when cool. If desired, serve with homemade whipped cream and/or chocolate sauce.

Nutritional Information: Each of 8 servings has 2 grams of effective carbohydrate plus 4 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein, and 334 calories

You can get pecan meal on-line, too..

Yes Carolyn we must find her a sight to copy her favorite and then how to use tinypic. I love that one. It's so easy to use.

The torte recipe looks so good. It's now in my recipe file.

Avitar's are a little different than posting pictures. But if it's in your photo you can find it to make the change.

Hi gals,

So happy your DM is recovered & released from hospital Judy.

Yeah, I guess I should explain why I was in T-shirt... it was a 50 minute climb in 41 F degree weather... I was over-heated & totally sweaty. Me? Athletic Thanks, but I'm way too soft for that compliment. Going back down was really a knee work out, wow! Thankful my knees are in good shape right now.

Yep Sharon, Shelby's starting to look like a grown-up dog.

IMHO - that's why you're not losing.
Grains plus high fat won't let you lose - not quickly and maybe not at all!!
You may have to pick a plan.

Good morning

Hi jeneric, we all love Mrs. Patmore. Find yourself a picture.

Sore throat this morning, but probably allergies dripping.

I think Buffy should be Cora. Debby hasn't found herself either.

Judy, my character is in Season 2 for a bit.

Anyone care who wins the Super Bowl?? Maybe our West coast gals do.

MK I think you're right about just picking and sticking. Less fruit and no grains might be the ticket.

Judy I'm so glad your Mother is back home now. I bet she feels better just being there. LOL.

Hi jeneric. Nice to meet ya. Stick around and join in. We'd love to have you.

My ds25 is on low carb most of the time. He did an olive oil experiment for lunch last week. 5 Tbs of olive oil with herbs for lunch each day. He lost 6 pounds!! He weighs around 220 and is 5 11. He has a pretty sturdy build. Not that I am recommending this, but he had his usual breakfast and dinner (LC). Just interesting. I told him to make sure he got enough protein.

Just a quick check in before we have to get ready to go meet relatives for lunch and the afternoon, then supposed to go to a bowl party but w not sure I will make both.

Judy, glad to hear your Mom is back home.

Yes, I would like to be Cora and was able to upload a pix to my profile but when I tried to make it my avatar it said failed and I just didnt feel up to messing with it.

I am really getting frustrated at how drained I continue to feel, sorry to keep complaining.

Realized yesterday morning that I was out of one of my BP pills, called and got it refilled but by the time DH picked it up, it was evening and BP seemed ok, so, I skipped it until this morning thinking that maybe that meant I could cut back. Nope, BP when I got up was 163/106. :-(. See my dr. again on Friday.

Interesting about Brett's experiment Carolyn!

Welcome Jen, yes we are certainly Downton fans! Yay, Judy is getting caught up and yes, Anna is a favorite.

Little Ava and her Daddy went to. Cinderella ball last night, she was so excited. But, she was not sure where she was going to find a pair of glass slippers to we're and was sure that she must have those and not shoes.

Buffy..I love your Cora..You can go to the help site here and have them put your Cora into your avatar..They are smart like that..and very helpful.

Cinderella Ball..how fun. Yes, I can see how she would think that...Glad you found out that the BP meds worked..Hope you are better...Hopefully your doctor can give you some energy tips..

Everyone here has the allergy drip..Not fun. Got some Claritin-D after I signed my life away.

Brett will come over for the SBowl....I will watch DA upstairs, of course..
